I had a very disappointing experience at this gym. Several years ago, I was participating in a group exercise class when I was instructed to use a weight that, in my experience, was too much for me. I was injured during the workout and ultimately required surgery as a result of the injury. I understand that injuries can happen during exercise, however, the experience had a significant impact on me physically. I reached out regarding what happened, but I did not feel that my concerns were adequately addressed or that responsibility for what occurred was acknowledged. Because of my experience, I cannot recommend this gym and feel that potential members should be aware that this was my experience there. read more

I love the instructors here including the HITT classes especially Priscilla's 8 AM Friday yoga class in Manteno. She starts with a thoughtful message and leads a well-paced, slow-burn flow. Priscilla is always on time, organized, and respectful. She encourages everyone to go at their own pace, never pushing too hard. Plus, her playlist is the best! I've been a member with FP on and off for several years and it seems like they're only after one thing... $$. When the business first came to town, my family had a lot of trouble with charges to our bank account with little to no explanation.. Fast forward to today & I'm experiencing the same thing. I initially went in to cancel my membership and join a gym closer to my work that was also cheaper. But the woman at the desk convinced me to just put a freeze on my account to see how I liked the new gym! Understandable. She stated I would not be charged a membership fee.. end of conversation. A couple days later I see a charge to my checking acct from FP. Even though I was NEVER told about this charge & it's NOWHERE in the freeze confirmation email I received.. "your card is on file with us so that means you agree to charges for certain services regardless of what you were told" .... I am just shocked. Apparently it's the woman who froze my acct's word over mine & I wasn't granted a refund. Not to mention no follow up calls if we haven't been in for a few months.. Why do they always have to get something from us? I thought FP was about wellness and health. read more

I have been a member for many years. No one is at the front desk, so I usually just walk in. They keep expanding, but never add equipment. Their core members use the weights and never get new machines or free weights. However, if you do the classes they offer, they add new miniscule crap that nobody uses. If it wasn't for the convenience of living in town, I would definitely go somewhere else read more

It feels like a timeshare presentation and everything is a upcharge. Equipment is in good condition but selection is limited. Unless you want to pay for personal trainer I would look elsewhere. read more

Be careful! When you cancel your membership! They try to talk you out of it! The ask you why you are canceling,its really none of their business! Then after you do cancel, and I did first of the month! So I would not get charged next month, they still billed me anyway! Now I will call the bank and dispute the charge. FItness Premier is formerly known as Cardinal Fitness. This location is a 24-hour gym. This facility is clean and the equipment is new. This is smaller than their Bourbonnais location and doesn't have every piece of equipment that Bourbonnais has, but it is still decent. After hours when nobody is at the front desk, you can swipe your badge to unlock the front door. They do have a panic button on the back wall which alerts the Manteno Police in case there is an emergency. read more

After being a member for 5 months now. I can only say good things about fitness premier. I mainly go to the Manteno gym but have also gone to Bourbonnais and Monee. I like all the clubs and have not come across any employee I didn't like. I attend several of the Group X classes and I am so impressed by all of them. Joining fitness premier was the best thing I've done for myself and I recommend it highly. read more

Ive had a membership there since the day they opened. Ive hired a few trainers who were excellent. The front desk workers were always friendly. Management/Corporate on the on the other hand, HORRIBLE! I fell on some hard times and tried canceling my membership. I work in business and billing and there was no reason for level of rudeness and unhelpful people I encountered. I understand the charges incurred when you cancel a monthly subscription but they basically ripped me off. If you choose to join a gym in the Kankakee/So Will county area CHOOSE WISELY. read more

I really enjoy coming here. The 24/7 access for a membership is absolutely worth it, espciallly when you work a lot. I like being able to come on my schedule. Also, the equipment is typically in good condition too. Overall a great place to go! read more

Just signed up and my card hasn't been working. They have tried to fix it twice now and still can't get it right. I am paying for a membership and haven't been able to work out. Staff has no idea what they are doing. Gym is also small with outdated equipment. I wouldn't recommend getting a membership here. read more

The gym itself is pretty nice, but the fact that they require you to have the fees paid with automatic withdrawl each month is the horrible. I've had a membership with them for over a year now, and they consistently take my money out on different days. I called corporate to see exactly what day they take my fees out. I was told on the 14th (never has it came out on the 14th). So, I have plenty of money in my account from the 14th on and they still charge me a $15 late fee. They think that you won't notice, as this has happened plenty of times before. They apologize when I bring in my bank statement to prove it to them, but this happens every 2-3 months. read more
