As of August 16th, still no towels! The gym and locker room stinks like a mixture of methane and dry semen. If not for the price, I'm outta there! Now in winter the construction worker's boots leave two inches of slushy water on the floor of locker room As of Jan 7th, the slop n dirt n mud on the floor was still present. I just keep repeating, "it's only 19.99"

I realize it's more than just cardio, that strength training is important as well. I tried asking employees to show me the machines and the safest way to use them and they half-heartedly walked with me to machines and vaguely answered questions. Never once sat on one and showed me the correct position, never helped me use it in the correct position, won't confirm a machines use on muscles over another, really never said anything at all other than a few "uh huh's" and "yeah, that one is good for the legs". REALLY? WOW, the sticker on the machine says the same thing. "what's better? quick short movements or slow drawn out ?" NO ANSWER! So, I go back to the treadmill, don't have time to hurt myself no matter who pays the bill. Well, as a nonprofit worker making less than a McDonald's cashier I had to eventually cancel my membership. It was that or rent, lol. Not that it costs that much. So I wrote a letter the day they took out my membership fee, put it in the mail. Now I know policy, 30 days notice. So I expected my next fee to come out the following month. Well to my surprise a few days later, there was a withdraw in my account from them. As much as I kid and make light of a situation, that did in fact jeopardize my rent. I choose to work where I work, I feel good about what I do although I don't make much money. That doesn't mean I'm not a worthwhile person. I called in a panic. No clue what that deduction was for. The manager got on explaining that there was a 30 notice policy. DUH! they just took my fee out 10 days prior, it wasn't due to come out for another 20 days. Then when that explanation didn't hold weight, he explained that there was an annual fee and that he personally deducted that from my account and that they had the right to do so. NOT IF THE ANNIVERSARY OF MY CONTACT ISN'T HERE YET! Unbelievable.

Chris immediately introduced himself and shortly thereafter the coach for that class did as well. The box itself is huge and was quite clean (restrooms includes) considering its where everyone goes to sweat. They have a lot of equipment and it's well organized and color coded. The members were friendly as well which is expected in the crossfit community but not always the case. The warm up was appropriate for what the WOD entailed [20 wall balls, 20 bridges, 20 flutter kicks, 20 pvc pipe dislocations]. This was followed by a mobility skill set. Then The WOD Nancy and finally we ended with a strength set [3x10 KB row,3x10 RDL, 3x10 windshield wipers]. Here are the valleys and to their credit it may have been by design: 1. I thought the mobility set or some different mobility/stretching set may have been appropriate after we finished strength. 2. There was no instruction for the weights to use for the strength portion. % of 1RM or some other bench mark would have been helpful. Over all it was a good experience and I'm glad I dropped in! I'll probably drop in more in the future when I'm in town.
