Was a client for 5+ years. Problems early and often as requests for estimates were treated as authorized services and big charges (frustrating start but,besides the price being a bit higher than I'd like, I needed the service so I kept with them). The, often the "early spring" treatment did not occur until June which caused weed and growth problems. For years, crabgrass remained late into the year. sent them pictures bc they guarantee their work but they would not come out to spray again. I finally had to treat those patches on my own. Despite iffy service, I stuck with them bc they're local and I am loyal. But loyalty is a one way street with them as each year they raised the price and it's gone up 30% in a few years which is a big number when each service started at least at $100. This year, I forgot about a payment. Even though I've paid on time for years and despite no message saying they were not going to provide further services (to the contrary, i got both texts and emails saying they were to be out the next day to provide a service w/ no mention of need for payment) they stopped services. Mind you, they send me emails trying to sell extra services (claiming their tech "noticed my yard needed" which was bs as it's often them pushing core aeration at the end of the year bc of all my thatch - including the year after they just aerated my lawn -despite my having it dethatched every Spring) and text me to tell me they are coming to provide service the following day (never following if they didn't provide service that day explaining why) all the time but they couldn't send one reminder after years of paying thousands for their services?! The day the guy was supposed to spray, he rang my doorbell (we have a ring so it was recorded) then left w/o providing service. Hours later, someone from the company left a message on my phone stating I was behind on a payment and needed to bring it current but no mention of service cutoff - just no services being provided. so I went online to my account and paid the invoice from last service that I had forgot to pay. I then submitted a request to cancel all future services. No email confirming anything but my payment. tried to log back in today to check to see if they were canceled and the company cut my access off. Still, no confirmation that my request was granted etc. loyalty goes both ways imo and, after years of timely payments, I assumed I'd at least get notice that services weee being cutoff. I guess when daddy gives you the money to start your company, you never learn to treat customers well. Good news is there's a new local company starting up next year that started only mowing lawns and has grown bc of good work and great customer service. It will be a nice change. read more

We were out of town and came home only to find out that this lawn service came to our yard and sprayed chemical weed killer on it. First off, we NEVER ordered these people to our house, they came to the wrong address. Second thing is they sprayed toxic chemicals all over our yard when we were trying to go chemical free, we were going to use an organic chemical free weed killer. The final thing is that these idiots sprayed and killed our sunflowers that we were trying so hard to grow. I have never ordered this lawn service and never will order this lawn service because they were too stupid to check that they got the right address. read more

I'm a stay-at-home mom to a 5 month old baby. We have a large breed dog who spends the majority of the time outdoors. It can be hard to juggle both at once. This company made 4 visits to my house without giving me proper notice. They just showed up and began working. Luckily I was home and was able to set down my baby who began screaming and wrangle the dog inside while they were already to work mowing. I called them and requested that they give me a heads up before they come out to our property. They told me that it was impossible to do so and they would come on Thursdays. Last week they came on Friday with no notice. This week the came on Wednesday with no notice. What happened to Thursdays? We live in the age of technology. It is not impossible to notify your customers via text, email, call, etc, that they are sending out a crew that day and give an approximate time or time frame. read more

The Fitzgerald Lawn Care team has been super to work with. Joe has clearly explained the steps to get our newly seeded lawn looking good. Their guidance on watering and other aspects of lawn care has been very helpful. The was a new seeded installation in June 2019. The weeds won last summer and early fall. Then Fitzgerald took over and right now, the grass is winning! The technicians have been patient when I had questions and the service provided was what was agreed upon. This company is a HUGE scam! They tell you they're giving you 'just an estimate' for lawn services, then the next thing you know, they show up repeatedly when you're not home, claim they did the work (which they do not), then ridiculously bill you non stop. This company I called for an estimate on lawn service then without permission came and did the service anyway then when you refuse to pay they turn it into collections bunch of criminals DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH FITZGERALD LAWN CARE they will do services with out permission then expect you to pay for it! On 2 occasions this company has performed services that were not authorized by me. They make assumptions that if you've done a service in the past, you automatically want to have that service again in the future, and if you request information about a particular service, they make the assumption that you are authorizing that service. Most recently (May 2013), I requested a price quote for a core aeration through their website. I received a voice message about a week later saying they recommend waiting until the fall and that we would discuss it later in the year. On August 13 I came home to find my entire lawn had been aerated. I never spoke directly with the company nor authorized the service, and I never even received the price quote before the service was performed! I immediately called and had to leave a voice message and have still not received a call back (Aug 30). I have requested that they never step foot on my property again. read more
