This is a small practice so don't expect bells and whistles in the facility for example, but rather personalised friendly professional and genuine care, kindness and skill. With a policy of no bookings other than for procedures, I have been surprised by a very low waiting time compared to other veterinary practices I have attended in Melbourne's suburbs. I was also amazed by the stitching skill on my pooch after surgery - I think a plastic surgeon couldn't have left any less of a scar or straighter a line. Although we first think of this as only cosmetic it made a huge difference to the comfort of my dog and therefore her healing time as she wasn't always licking or scratching as they often do when wounds are irritating them.

(Public holidays they are open from 10-4). One store is dedicated to all things fish, birds and reptiles - including the live animals themselves. Prices here are really good and the animals are well looked after. The fish tanks are clean and the staff are really good at chasing down the exact specimen you want for your new pet. The second store is for kittens, puppies, small animals and grooming needs. They provide a grooming service here but I have never utilized that. While meandering around their pet toys you can hear the sound of puppies playing and kittens purring - nothing like the kind of pet store where the animals are asleep in tiny boxes. The staff are happy to let you have a hold or a play with the animals. In terms of pet accessories these guys have everything. Albeit groovy dog collars, piles of pet food, mirrors for your birdcage or all manner of fish tanks - you are bound to find it here. They even have a Do It Yourself coin operated dog wash in their store which is always a lot of splashy fun - depending on how well behaved your dog is. Lucky for owners of escape artists it has a reasonably tall gate that prevents your dog from jumping out. I recommend keeping the lead on just in case. I've used the dog bath at the back of the store a few times and it's really handy. The store has an excellent selection of dry foods and refrigerated meats plus loads of dog treats. Watch your dog if you're walking around the store with them - a little tempting! I've had to purchase a couple of treats unintentionally. I don't really go to the other part of the store with the birds and fish. I like that they now have pet adoption, which I think they have had for a while but I only noticed a few months ago.

The shop does have a lot of gorgeous little pups who break your heart when you are forced to look at them for the last time before leaving. If they didn't cost so much I worry about how many I could have bought... Apart from the gorgeous pups the store stocks all things for dogs. There is food, collars, leads, and of course, toys. The infamous Kong toys have a big section on the wall and there are great ones suited to dogs of all sizes and temperaments. My dog tends to rip through most of his toys in minutes but he has never beaten a Kong toy. Granted they are massive and made from thick rubber, but it is still impressive. They do cost more than the average toy however and you'll be looking at around $15-$30 for one. The girl behind the counter was very friendly and welcoming. She could tell I wasn't in to buy a puppy so she left me to have fun looking at the puppies and checking out the toys. The shop is clean, there is a heap of stock and heaps of puppies around to show you their best puppy-dog-eyes expressions. It's really fun.

I was assured they weren't, and they seemed to genuinely care about animal welfare, talking to another customer and telling them they should really wash their hands before touching one dog and going to another. The dogs all seemed well cared for and had been microchipped, fully vaccinated and guaranteed vet cover for 2 weeks after adoption, which I thought was really good. The only thing I didn't like was when I asked about my puppy's parents I was given a photo printed out on a piece of paper of just ONE of the parents, and no details. Still a little iffy about the place, but I got a beautiful new addition to my family and they were friendly and helpful enough.

Located in a beautiful green spot that backs onto the river the dogs are very well looked after. The staff are attentive and friendly and do a lot to make sure the dogs have a lot of social time. There is also a vet that visits regularly as well as a groomer so you can have your dog trimmed and looking pretty on your return. On hot days there are little doggy pools for the pups to stay cool in and trips down to the Yarra at the back of Lyndon Park are not uncommon. There is also a fire plan in place in case bush fires occur in the area. Lyndon Park is a lovely kennel where you know your dogs will be looked after with love and kindness.

Upon picking him up our dog was injured with a large piece of skin missing and red raw. NO explanation, NO apology, instead stating that "things happen!" An absolute shocking place to stay. I believe our dog was mistreated. If you love your dogs please DO NOT use these kennels. The owner was an arrogant pig of a man that could not care less for your animals!!

Anne Nevill is a top vet. She picked up that my dog had a growth in his mouth when I had actually…read morecome for another minor matter. She told me to wait for a month to see if it would subside but I was too anxious so she said we could take out the growth and biopsy it. I was so grateful. She really understood my needs as well as my puppy. Today the procedure was done and my dog is fine. We have to wait for the biopsy result but I am confident that I am in good hands. Anne Nevill has been great with other matters too. The previous time I had been to another vet who told me my dog had cancer and needed his anal glands removed. I came to Anne for a second opinion and it turned out that my dog had an infected anal gland and she lanced it and gave him antibiotics and he was fine. NO cancer. How about that... So I cant praise her enough. She certainly knows her stuff and is a pleasure to deal with and a life saver.... The staff too are lovely and the whole environment is friendly and relaxed. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I have been coming to Ann for maybe 14 years. Throughout that time I brought to her my own animals…read morebut also animals, like cats, from a racing stable I used to work or baby birds or possums I would find injured. She helped with a chronic skin condition of my first adopted doggie whose previous owners insisted it is incurable. He was a completely different dog after 6 months in Ann's care. Beautiful, silky coat and no rash. I adopted all my animals when they were older and she helped me to make their lives as healthy and enjoyable as possible. She performed crucial ligament operation and recommended a great rehab for my dog. When there was time to say goodbye to my gorgeous fur babies, she performed that with so much care and thought and made the last moment less painful. I really love what she does and who she is.
