This location had a lot of to offer. I was glad to see the Halloween items already on display. A lot of people including myself don't realize the selection these guys offer for Halloween decorations. Yeah Walmart and other retail stores offer better quality items but at a steep mark up. If your on a budget you can save some cash getting some neat decorations at the dollar store some of which will last awhile to use the following years. The dollar store is definitely an underrated place. They offer a wild range of practical items that sometimes are cheaper to get than Walmart. It's convenient especially when in a pinch. When I got closer, I was surprised to find the quality was just as good as the Spirit store next door but for just $1 each. After I grabbed some decorations for the house, I headed to the candle aisle. I grabbed two candles: pumpkin pie and pecan praline. They were just about 8-10 oz each but still a great deal for $1 each! I approached the first register where the register light was on and there was a cashier at the register. She quickly shut off her light, told me she was closed, and walked off. I then walked over to the only other open register where a red headed gentleman was finishing checking out another customer. Once he was done, he told me he would be back. I then watched as he frisked an employee going on break and then came back to check me out. It was very awkward. I might check out another location next time.

I walked over to a random aisle to get the drinks down since my hands were freezing and to see if i really needed everything I grabbed when a female employee old with blond hair that looked like a wig walked by and started making small talk. She offered to put my stuff in a random basket she had, i said "thank you you're the best" she then mumbled "better than having someone steal stuff" under her breath and then try's to change the subject to a dumb tv show after i said "i wasn't going to steal anything i was putting my stuff down because my hands were cold". If you are like us in that sense, the loyalty scheme is good value. There are two reasons we are not fans of their coffee shop: first, they have one of those "dark pattern" card payment devices. It makes it very hard when you are paying to leave no tip. You have to keep hitting the damn "no tip" part of the screen over and over for it to work. You should know that this is a deliberate choice on the part of the management. When they buy the card readers, they can choose ones that make it hard for someone NOT to leave a tip. It's a dark pattern you can investigate on YouTube. And it's a really evil thing to do. Shame on the sleazy manager who made that decision! It should be illegal and they should be punished. Second, and this is a problem going back YEARS, if you get a hot drink, it is very likely it will be super hot, like nuclear hot, practically burning through the cup. It will be at least twenty minutes before it's a safe temperature to drink. You think I'm kidding? I'm not, and you've been warned. PLUR, baby! Bonus complaint: My God in heaven, they interrupt with harsh and seemingly unnecessary messages for staff over the loudspeaker very, very often. I know it's not a library, but it is a bookstore. I appreciated the kind service, but I had to head back home to the southeastern part of the state soon. It's two stories and quite spacious even with many others shopping.
