I went in to simply ask if I had to order in advance for a large order of balloons. The lady caught an attitude with me and made it seem like I was asking a dumb question. I didn't get her name because I simply left after she gave me attitude, but she was an African American lady with locs and facial piercings and her coworker had puffy curly hair. As an African American myself, I did not appreciate this treatment. This was around 12:45-1:00 on December 31, 2025. Stood in line and watched 3 cashiers goofing around while I stood in line waiting for 1 cashier to finish waiting on a customer at her cash register. After the young lady called next and I went over, then another cashier called the lady that was standing behind me. Been to this store a number of times now. Each time, the selection of items gets better and better. Prices are very reasonable! I always buy some snacks, novelty items and iPhone related stuff. Sometimes holiday things as well. The only gripe I always have is that the register only has 1 person working even though there is a long line of customers. Also, some customers inside this store are inconsiderate and rude! They don't say "Excuse me." Or "Sorry." Whenever they have to walk by you with a cart, they come so close!!! And not a single ounce of consideration at all. How senseless and oblivious they act!!! Besides the few negatives, this store is an alright place to purchase inexpensive items for a birthday, an event, a gathering or a special ocassion. I wish I could leave no stars! I had never even considered going into a Five Below store but I found an advertisement for a Disney Storybook Advent Calendar online that directed me to the Five Below site. Advertised on the Five Below site I found two different Disney Storybook Advent Calendars; one of the calendars said the particular storybook calendar I wanted was available at their store 8 miles from my house. The second Disney Storybook calendar was listed as only available through online purchase. With this said, to avoid the shipping costs I decided to go to the store to pick it up. I got to the store and looked around...finding no Disney Storybook calendars in my search I finally asked an employee where they might be. This employee very quickly said "oh, we do not have them in stock here yet because as you can see, we are still set up for Halloween". I showed him the link to the calendar on my phone and pointed out where it said "available in store" and proceeded to leave the store. Once home, I decided that I really wanted the item so I decided to order it online...$5 for the calendar and $8 for the shipping. I thought this pricing a bit crazy but, I really wanted to purchase the calendar! So I ordered it! This morning, I got an email from Five Below it says..." We apologize that we're unable to fulfill your most recent order. It has been canceled and the payment has been voided. " I don't know what kind of store this is nor will I ever be returning to one but to fail at the store level only to again fail at an online level takes true incompetence! Some locations are better than others when it comes to Five Below stores. My review here applies to the Germantown, MD store only. This location seems to sell third party items inside, not just what comes from corporate. Why they would do that when other stores have great items in stock from corporate that they don't have, I have no idea. Don't know what the rules are on this, Captain Below (that's probably the CEO's name, right?!) might want to weigh in on the matter. It comes off as shady, but we're here looking for deals, so I'm willing to have some faith and continue shopping. I know to be cautious. Most items are mass produced so occasionally I've bought something that's a little wonky. Pro tip: try to get a good look at each item and make sure it works as it's supposed to. There's likely 20 more on the shelf in perfect condition, but you won't know that if you just grab and go, and are then disappointed once you get home. Even though their items should be quality, when I end up with a dud, I'm mad at myself for rushing, much much more than I am at the store for selling it or employees for a lack of QA. In this particular instance, I bought a shrink wrapped movie off of a display that said "pre watched". It claimed to have a digital code inside, but had a phone number to call on the outside if there were any issues, so I took the gamble. Sure enough, there was no code. There was also no answer after calling for weeks at different times of the day and leaving multiple voicemails even though the prompt was timely and sounded legitimate. I came here on Friday to buy some athletic gear. I'm happy with my purchase (well, except one hehe). But lines are never long. Employees are always nice. Best finds here at Five Below. If you need something quick for a low price this is the place to be! They sell everything from books, electronics, accessories, gym equipment, toys, clothes, room decors, and snacks. The gym equipment I've purchased here were similar to some that I've found online which were obviously more expensive! I was quite impressed with the quality and glad they were available at this store. I can't vouch for the electronics because I've never purchased from here nor do I trust it. But just like the saying, "you get what you pay for." I've noticed during my recent visits that there were less teenagers running around in this location. The Five Below in Germantown is a one stop spot to find any cheap accessory you are looking. Before going into this store I had never been to a five below and figured it was just a dollar store with inflated prices. I made a point to stay out of them in an attempt to fight inflation. My mom always says "back in my day I remember when we use to get pop for a nickel at the 5 and dime" (I wish I was kidding). I thought if I went into a five below I would sound like my mom 'this is the same stuff that was in the dollar store when I was a kid,' but it definitely is not. This Five Below not only has tons of stuff, it also has tons of space. You don't walk in and get claustrophobic like in so many of its competitor's stores. I have gotten things here from headphones to iPhone cases to sporting equipment to backpacks. It has everything you need for way cheaper than you would expect. To explain this another way: Five Below is the Hyundia Sonata of stores. Is it a top of the line car? No definitely not, but it has a lot of things you need and want for an extremely affordable price. Also, it looks nice. It is clean and bright, so what more could you want. I am glad I found this place and will continue coming back here for little things I need. One word of caution, a lot of the things here are still lower quality than normal. For instance my iPhone charger only lasted a couple of months before it inexplicably stopped working. read more

Five and Below needs to change their name. One if you are going to sell and raise prices over $5.00. The name is misleading to people. Love the store itself with that being said, two weeks ago on a Saturday one of the metal stands that they have in this store was wrongly put up, and when someone barely past next to it, it felt on my foot.
