I am surprised to say that I did not know this location has been here for quite a few years now but that is because I usually go to the location at the Pembroke Lakes mall. However, I think now I will go out of my way to come here because it is so much better! The location has a lot more room and you are able to walk freely around this place without having a fear of bumping into anything and knocking stuff over, especially since they have so many little and large Knick knacks that seem fragile or are pricey. It is a very well stocked location and it seems that they even have stuff that I have never heard of or seen at a couple other hallmark locations that I have been too. The staff is also very friendly and will help assist you with anything you may have whether it be finding an ornament or a specific holiday card, or even helping you order something from online to be shipped to the store. I was greeted quickly by one employee who walked away. However, another woman with short hair came up and asked if I had been in before. When I said I had not, she took me on a brief tour of the store, including pointing out the sake section and restroom. She even checked in with me when the original employee was struggling with a phone call and I was waiting to check out for some time. The store is laid out by yarn weight except for a separate baby yarn section. A lot of variety in all yarn weights and plenty of goodies to browse. Thankfully for my wallet I had to fit everything in a carry-on for the flight home so I just got yarn to start a quick project. However, I could see myself coming back next time I am in FL to browse (eh, buy) again!

The two associates I found around the store at different times were helpful in searching for titles of books and LPs from their inventory. The only thing I would recommend is that they organize the books a bit more because it took too much time to go through all the shelves to find what I was looking for. All that said, this store also carries a great selection of games and toys as well as vinyls, and checkout was quick--even during the holidays. So on this first visit, I walked out with a couple of children's books and an LP! Open every day from 10-9 PM, I look forward to returning soon and finding a hidden corner somewhere to peruse new books.

BIG SCARY POP UP STORE…read more.. These Spirit Halloween stores are popping up everywhere in closed stores in high traffic areas. They dont vary too much by the amount and type of merchandise but they definately vary by management and staff. This one is a free standing pop up store behind the ABC store off Flamingo Rd and Sunrise Blvd opened two weeks ago. This store has very cool full size movie theme characters some that move and some with sounds. Easy to view most of the sections from any position in the store. They have an adult costume section in addition to a large kiddy costume area. I even saw dog costumes - which were funny. Lots of costume accessories and scary home items like light ceramic type skulls for $9.99. Also, plush scary pillows and creepy dolls. They do not carry men's costumes above 1X Large but you can find them on Amazon. Pumpkin carving kits are also available. Friendly staff quick to assist and answered my questions. Fun place to browse or buy.

Upon entering, there were all kinds of interactive scary, but fun animated experiences for every age. Kids were all around them, laughing and enjoying in the Halloween fun. They had a huge variety of Halloween costumes and accessories to complete any character that you would like to be for Halloween. There was no presence of employees walking around to help. If you need help, you'd have to walk to the front where the cashier was located. I picked out a couple costumes to try on and asked the cashier at the front where the dressing room was. To my surprise, there were no dressing rooms. Her response was that you could try it on over your clothes or you can purchase it and bring it back for a refund if you don't like it. To me that's very inconvenient. I might as well order on Amazon, which had basically the same costumes at a lower price. All in all, it was a fun experience, but left with no costumes in hand. I give Spirit Halloween a 3.5 star rating because of the lack of service and no dressing rooms.

Plastic Universe is across the street from the Marshall's end of Sawgrass Mills Mall. As soon as I walked in I was warmly welcomed but also left free to explore at my pace knowing help was just a few feet away. The store was actually a lot larger than I thought it would be with thousands of collectible figures spanning decades. Some of the collectibles are very rare, signed, and even come with certificates of authenticity. They carry Mortal Kombat, Transformers, Thunder Cats, Mutant Ninja Turtles, G.I. Joe, Planet of the Apes, World Wrestling Federation, Masters of the Universe, Star Trek, Aliens, Spawn, DC, Marvel, Funko Pop, and almost an entire wall of Star Wars figures from across all of the movies. Seeing all of the Star Wars figures really made me miss my action figures. As a kid, I spent hours playing with them on the Death Star Space Station and crushing them in the trash compactor. As an 80's child I loved the feeling of nostalgia this store gave me. In addition to all of the figures there are a lot of cool props, photo ops, and sports memorabilia.
