Westfield was originally named Broward Mall. It's very confusing because the name changed to Westfield and then changed back to Broward Mall. I spent years and years going to this mall to shop and for community events. The school children had activities here when my daughter was growing up. We loved to spend the day shopping and then get something to eat. After we pigged out we walked and shopped some more! When I return I'm sure I will visit Broward Mall to reminisce about old times. But I certainly know the feeling that you can't go home again. I've tried going back in time with other places I have lived. I felt like I was a stranger in a strange land. Malls used to be 80's America's place to go to shop, eat, and enjoy indoor recreation. With the rise of internet shopping the malls of America have been dying off in favor of places that can offer unique shopping experiences or live, work, and eat complexes. A mall that embodies the 80's golden age of shopping malls is The Broward Mall, a one-level 1,000,000-sq-ft shopping mall in Plantation. The mall opened in 1978 with a Burdines anchor and two years later a JC Penney's was added. In 2007 the mall was renamed Westfield and by 2013 it underwent a renovation. Today the mall has a Dillard's, JCPenney, Macy's, Regal Broward Stadium 12 & RPX, Buffalo Wild Wings, Brio Tuscan Grille, and The Whole Enchilada. There is also over 100 specialty stores including H&M, Victoria's Secret, ALDO,  Express, G by Guess, Hollister, Pandora. I was a frequent customer of the the Broward Mall in the early 90's when I lived in the area. After I moved away I started to shopping at a mall closer to home and of course I turned to internet shopping along with most of America. Fast forward to yesterday when I saw the mall was hosting a taste of Broward event. A handful of food court restaurants along with Gatorade were offering samples in the middle of the mall. They also had a DJ, stilt walker, and scavenger hunt. It was a small event but it worked at getting me to visit the mall. My impressions after all these years was that the parking is still a mess. You have tight one way aisles which often leave you stuck behind someone waiting for a space. Everyone wants to park by Wild Wings. It looks like some construction is taking place on the outside. The Mall itself is small but bright and clean. The restrooms feel like a mile away from the rest of the mall. Stores are what you need and the H&M is nice to have and not everyone has one. Young at Art is also located in the mall after getting kicked out of their building by Broward County, It is so sad to see what a small mall space they have after once having a state of the art museum. Will I be back anytime soon? Not with Sawgrass Mill Mall down the road and the revamped former Fashion Mall about to reopen. I'm just not that big of a mall shopper. It was however nice to stroll down memory lane. read more

Since 1978, this mall in the city of Plantation, located on University Drive and Broward Boulevard (a couple of miles north of I-595) has had its ups & downs. They recently changed their name back to Broward Mall and they're really making great strides to bring back former regular shoppers and attract new ones! This is a smaller mall with a little over 80 of the most popular stores, which is perfect for me so that I don't have to walk that much or struggle through crowds of tourists with large, rolling suitcases. I love that some of my favorite name brand stores like Macy's (with Macy's Backstage) and Dillard's are here, and that Target is across the way, to boot! If you drive an EV, they have charging stations by Federated Road behind Brio, and you can find some more at The Fountains just down the road. A-Ok. We visited this mall while we were staying in the area and it was a good visit. They are most definitely an older mall and you can tell, it's dated looking and in need of a face lift, but totally functional and easy to walk through. It looks like they are hit or miss on some of the normal brands you'll see in most malls. I have a feeling they go through tenants like most full scale malls do nowadays. They did have a really neat art installation while we were there, and that was really cool. If it's still there, go see it. Really fun to take pictures with and such. Overall: B A-Ok mall overall, just in need of some updates and TLC. Many 'normal' malls are on the struggle bus lately and this one doesn't seem to have been spared. read more

Broward Mall, so disappointing. I remember as a kid 40 years ago working there. What I considered old people would arrive before the mall opened 9am and would fast walk around freely. Rent is still a lot, the shops don't open early, now they open later. Now 40 years later I'm the old guy trying to walk for exercise. Recovering from a stroke. Guess what? Security said I can't walk like the old people use to. They are surprised why Amazon is kicking there butts, old people have value, they may start out before the stores open but might spend some money before leaving. This mall has gone downhill. Jimmy John's left the food court and they have some sort of gate pulled down in that area. It looks like a jail. I came here the other day because I had to return something and I was in the Plantation area. Several stores have gone out of business or are in the process. It is a shame because I used to come here all the time and meet my friend when she lived in the area. At that time, this mall had all or almost all spots occupied. Even Auntie Anne's is no longer in their very large kiosk location. I was here on a Friday later in the day so I would think it would have been a little busy. It was not, even near the movie theater. When I left the mall, there were no customers anywhere near me. They were so far away I probably would have had to yell for someone to hear me. Hopefully they can bring in some retailers to fill in the empty spaces. read more

This mall has had its ups and downs over the last few years. For a while is was going completely down hill, but they have been doing a lot of remodeling lately and is actually starting to look good. The main large stores are: Dillard's, Macy's, JC Penney's and Sears, and they have a pretty good selection of smaller retailers that go from Teavana to Victoria Secret to several jewelry stores. The have also redone and expanded the food court, and they are still adding new eating places, plus they have added more locations around the mall with comfortable sofas just for hanging out and relaxing. Another nice added feature is the movie complex that is also connected to the mall. The theaters are part of the Regal chain. Finally, there are several restaurants connected to the Mall or on the perimeter, including Brio (my favorite out of the current options). read more

I would give this mall a 3.5; going to keep this review quick and straight to the point. This mall is not that huge. However, in my opinion, it has what you need, such as: Macy's, Dillard's, JCPenney's, etc with of Victoria's Secret, H&M, Bath & Body Works... the list goes on and on. [Oh!] Place does have a movie theater, but not sure if it is back and running. In other words, open :) Anyways, I decided to quickly go to Charlotte Russe to look for red gym leggings! [Long Story Short] A fellow yelper wore red gym leggings; it looked really good on them! We even had a chat too -- very sweet & nice. They told me, I could possibly find them at Charlotte Russe, Nordstorm, Ross, Marshall's, Forever21, and TjMax. Thus, I made it my mention to find red gym leggings, hehe! , Charlotte Russe was very clean inside. They had a lot of gym clothings, casual dresses, jeans, shorts, etc. The downside is that, dressing room is temporarily closed. Personally, I like trying on the clothings at the store. However, I understand that we are in a pandemic though. The cashier informed me that you can only do an exchange or store credit as long as you have your receipt. In the end, I did not find red gym leggings, but I did buy myself a cute dress and 2 gym leggings. It came to $30+tax. I did message my fellow yelper about the place, how I loved it because of the prices! The prices were not bad. The dress was $10 and the two leggings were each $10. I'm surprised there was a decent amount of closed stores but I know there's alot of good things coming to this mall that I should come back and check out if I return to this area. It's truly your casual mall. What I enjoy the most about this mall is that it's in a figure 8 layout, they have a good variety of stores. Food court has a great selection of options to choose from. Went to Macy's enjoyed my visit there made a couple of purchases as I was leaving the parking lot I got a nail in my tire called security hadn't fill out incident report he told me to call back to talk with management the next morning I called all day and I won't return my calls 3 days later still no one returns my calls management sucks!!!! I work near Broward Mall so I'm essentially required to stop here. Basically I have no reason to come here other than the fact that I'm next door to it. The store ha basic low-level stores that all malls across America have. Their big department stores are Dillards, Macy's and JC Penney. Those are really the only stores worth going into. It seems like it would be much bigger, but really this is not a big mall at all. It's kind of deceiving. The food court is ok- small, but clean at least. They're making additions so hopefully the additions make the mall better. I think they have a dentist office in the mall. That pretty much says it all. read more

To me, holiday season is mostly about shoppings...LOL! Nowadays I do most of my shopping online because it's much easier way to shop without fighting the crowd and parking spots, and you can find better deals online. Some places you don't even have to pay sales taxes and shipping charges. Since my wife love to shop Macy's online, she gets to return the items here in the store. Besides Macy's, they got other department stores like JCPenny, Sears and some others. They got a lot of retail shops and the place is huge. But the parking lot is even bigger. We normally park near Macy's so we can just get in and get out. But I am sure it'd take a while to walk around. They got a few restaurants on the property. I wanted to try Buffalo Wild Wings but hasn't had the chance. There is probably a food court in there too, but I haven't worked up that way yet. We will be coming back here as my wife will be continuously be shopping on Macy's Online. Maybe next time we'll try the food court. read more

Broward Mall is currently an "ok" mall. It's a mall that has gone through much identity crisis. In the years since I've lived in the area it's been very hard to fully enjoy a shopping experience at Broward Mall because I feel like they honestly can't keep tenants, and the entire mall outside is very dated. Additionally; Name brand stores come and go and limit what you have as shopping choices. I'm a supporter of local shops as well but unfortunately when you fill a mall with too many of these tenants the mall loses its touch in my opinion. The mall then tends to look dated and more like a flea market. Macy's looks like they are finally starting to remodel it but this Macy's needs a lot of TLC. Hoping they fully get there so far I see some improvement. These are my only reason why I've given Broward Mall 2 Stars on Yelp is because: - Regal Movie Theatre - great addition and the only true saving grace of this mall. Love coming here to see my movies. - The Whole Enchilada - nice spot to grab fresh American style Mexican food - Recent remodeling occurring where Sears use to be to bring more of a night life area with nicer restaurants etc. Again overall in my opinion the mall is just ok. They need to work really hard to bring real good well known named stores and I'm hoping that with this new remodeling that Broward Mall starts to find it's true place in this market. My favorite mall in Broward county. This is less hectic and touristy than the other mall. The parking lot is huge. It has one floor but in JC Penney's, there's a second floor. It's 1 million square feet so wear your sneakers and Fitbit. The food court is huge and has a variety of food to choose from. The mall itself is very clean and the hallways are huge, so no bumping to other people and no people pushing around luggages lol. There's a movie theater in the mall which is convenient. My favorite store, H&M is currently being constructed as of today (4/14/17). One of my favorite wing chains is located here, Buffalo Wild Wings. There's a nail salon, eyebrow salon, massage therapists, a dental office, you name it, it's one stop shopping at its finest. It's a great place to get some exercise by walking through the mall and people watching especially during a rainy day when you can't be outside. In conclusion, love this mall and how much quieter it is compared to other malls. read more

Aww man where do I begin. I remember this mall was a place to go. Maybe I'm showing my age cause that was awhile ago. But yeah I was shopping around the neighborhood and I know I needed to check out the mall to buy some stuff. So I seen they had a Macy's and Dillard's so I decided to just go in. Now they have a few new places like the restaurants and a few shopping places. But I do see that they are still doing some new constructions. And there are a few stores that are closed down which didn't make it look appealing. But I will say this the Movie Theater is probably the best part of the mall. It looked fairly new so that's probably the reason way it looked good. Also the food court is nice too, a bunch of different places not typically found in other mall food courts. But I hope that with the new construction being done to this mall that it'll do wonders for this mall. read more

This mall is a 2 minute drive from my house so I always come here. I love shopping and getting something to eat when I have a day off of work. It's a small mall compared to another nearby mall, but I still love coming here. The Loft is a really nice place for women's clothing. My fav healthy food to eat here can be found at Wako Poke Bowls (Hawaiian and Japanese fusion cuisine)! It's a new place and I highly recommend it!! read more

This place was nothing i was expecting it to be. It was incredibly small and most of the stores were "out of stock" on a lot of things. I did go on Christmas Eve, so I know there will be less things then - but even the store people said they don't often get a lot of stock - like other malls. It feels like this mall is "dying" because it just feels like they don't have a lot of options on things. They also, don't have a lot of cool stores. Although, I did see that Earthbound is coming soon - so maybe that'll perk things up. The mall also wasn't the cleanest mall I've been to. It wasn't awful, but it didn't have the appeal i was looking for. I probably wouldn't return to this mall unless I had to. They do have a Regal theater though - and i might visit that. A pretty decent mall. I've been coming here since I was a child and used to work at the Hollister Co. back when I was in high school. It's undergone some nice renovations over the past few years. They've added an AMC movie theater and some restaurants such as Red Robin and The Whole Enchilada. The stores are pretty much your basic shopping mall stores. Not much on the high end side. There's a Macy's, Dillard's, JC penny's, H&M, Victoria's Secret, Foot Locker, Bath and Body Works, etc. The food court has also been re-done and there seem to be some good options other than your typical food court fast food places. The mall is never super busy, especially on week days. It's always pretty easy to find a parking spot. You can usually get in and out pretty quick if you're just going in for a specific thing and you shouldn't expect to wait in any lines at the stores (shopping in this mall is a breeze compared to Sawgrass Mills Mall). Things do pick up during Holiday season though! read more

Well, I've been back a couple of times now...time to change my tune. What a difference a little over a year makes. I think it's time to update this review as I've been back numerous times now and I must say I've grown to appreciate this mall more and more. On the hunt for a bow tie and searching for a sports coat on two separate occasions, I was able to not only get in and out fairly quickly, but landed both pieces at a ridiculous discount. My sports coat was only $20 a Macy's after a steep discount - down from $180. I know right? The entire store had sales, and maybe they were just getting rid of things, but for $20, at the quality it is, it's a steal anyway you cut it. Parking has been super easy. Like I said, in and out quickly...which isn't the case for other big malls in the area. This for me is the biggest convenience. They have plenty of parking, so you aren't going around in circles to get a spot. Looking forward to venture out of the big box stores and into the middle of the mall next time, as I've heard there was some renovations since the last time I ventured in - and maybe even catch a flick as I heard the theater was great. The Broward Mall has been here for as long as I can remember and thanks to a remodel, it seems to have a new breath of life. The anchor stores are not my favorite and I wish there was a way to bring something more enticing in. Currently (and forever) it has Sears, JC Penney, Macy's and Dillard's. These each serve a purpose but are not my first choices for browsing. On this day, I was here to look for a specific item in Penney's. Unfortunately, this was not a successful stop but we decided to walk through the mall and check out the food court. I hadn't seen it since the remodel and it was beautiful... very bright and clean feeling. There wasn't much more to keep us so we didn't stay too much longer. I've been to this mall throughout the years, having been born and raised in the area. (And it will always be known as the Broward Mall to most of us!) It was at one time, an upscale mall with the types of anchor stores you'd expect. But as of the past 5 years or so that has all changed. The stores are now mainly consisting of athletic/sneaker stores or no-name, cheap apparel stores that carry tacky club wear. Even since the revamping of the mall, bringing in some new restaurants, remodeling of the food court and now including a movie theatre, this mall is still missing "something". They have brought in some nice stores such as Pandora and Teavana. But the way the Pembroke Lakes Mall has brought in some big name/brand stores like Michael Kors and Coach, the Westfield Mall is still heavily lacking behind. Why live 5 minuets away from one mall just to have to travel out to Pembroke Lakes (which I hate!) or Aventura just to find some nice stores that don't carry the same things that you can find in a Marshall's, Ross and TJ Max? read more

I will give this mall a generous 3 stars (2.5 if I could) because it has recently revamped and has a pretty good variety of stores for its size and for what it is - a regular mall. I can't pit it against high end malls because that's just not who the product is intended for. It seems to reach out to a younger/family market, especially with their addition of a new movie theater. Now parking is a big deal to me and there is an ample amount of spaces and it isn't ridiculous traffic like Sawgrass Mall. You may think its due to size, but Coral Square Mall is about the same size and the traffic and parking there is atrocious. Also, in comparison, since they actually ARE comparable, Broward has more variety in stores. Plus, location is decent and there's food and other places close by to meander. What really makes it worth going to is Cotton On! Cheap, cute and okay, maybe a little hipster, but its hard to find a Cotton On in any other surrounding mall near my place...not even the holy grail of Sawgrass Mall. I also shop at Trendz (a little Chongalicious but good finds), Charlotte Russe, Love Culture and Wet Seal (even though its closed indefinitely at the moment). What I'm saying is, by no means would I travel an extended amount of time to get to this mall but it does the job and is A-OK for a local mall in my area. The food variety is also decent with your run-of-the-mill Asian mall food and... Chick-fil-a! Woo-hoo! Also notable are the Big Enchilada, Red Robin's, Charlie's (sp?). Check it out! Either way, for a woman or even man in their early 20s, its good enough. For families, its pretty safe, just lock your cars (like anywhere you go lol) and yes, there are those Asians who massage you in the middle of the mall (they're everywhere now!). read more

This mall is the closest to my house so I generally just pop in if I need something really quickly at one of the department stores. I generally don't come here to "shop". The Macy's, Dillard's, and JCPenney aren't the most high-end anchor stores but they aren't the MOST budget conscious either. Personally I'm a Nordstrom girl so I have to venture to Aventura for that. But if I need to grab something from Express, Cache, Victoria's Secret: these stores are in this mall and of decent size. One thing I do notice is there is a decent amount of store turnover. There seems to be a decent amount of stores I've never heard of (maybe local chains?) that will be around for a few months and then there are "Going out of business" signs. Obviously this mall doesn't do TOO well which isn't a great sign. There seems to be a lot of angsty teens hanging out and not doing anything productive which is super annoying as well. If I need to just pop in and grab something quickly (i.e. I know exactly what I need and where to get it) I can go here quickly. If I want to "shop", I'm more inclined to go to Galleria or Avenura where I feel safer and the stores are nicer. read more

I've seen third-world countries have a better infrastructure than this mall. Sadly, that isn't an exaggeration as I felt many parts of the exterior of the Westfield Broward were a bad area. The parking lot is an atrocious disaster, with the roads around it being so slim you can barley fit a car through, and it seemed like it needed paving and possibly an expansion. The outside look of the actual mall is quite drab, and not very vibrant at all. All these are my thoughts before I even stepped out of my car. I never felt safe while I was at Westfield Broward mall, both inside and outside of the mall. Stepping inside the mall I had a much better impression. I will give props to the food court area which sported a lot of locations to choose from for food, and plenty of room for growth of more places. But even this aspect has its downfall, which was that only one place was giving out samples, no bueno. The mall didn't seem that huge, nor was it high end. No store I passed really peaked my interest enough to go in, so mainly just walked around. I came to this mall out of convenience because I had some time to kill to walk around and explore here. In the time I was here, it made an impression on me, one that will almost certainly insure I won't be back. read more
