I researched MANY Limo services to take my family wine tasting in Napa for a day trip from San Francisco. After interviewing the companies over the phone and reading the Yelp reviews I went with Five Emerald Limo. Ira was great to work with and assured me of a pleasant experience. Ubo arrived 10 minutes before our scheduled departure and drove us to each destination we gave him on the itinerary. He even made a special trip down a narrow country road, had to wiggle that stretch limo around, just so I could travel down memory lane. Very impressive! He had us promptly returned on time. The price was comparable to other companies too. You read some horrifying stories online about some services and I was very concerned.....so relieved all went according to plan. The car was fine, but it seemed like an older model....some of the limos out there are beautiful and classy. I'd say the one we had was average. Very great service! There was some confusion due to the fact that my flight went into the international terminal even though it was not an international flight and this caused a slight delay in picking us up. This issue was quickly resolved. The driver, Al, was very polite and provided great service! We even received an upgrade from a town car to a Mercedes! I highly recommend this option to get you from the airport to your destination! We did a tour of San Francisco today with our driver, Larry. Larry was great! He was prompt and showed up in a BMW 750 Li! The car was fantastic! Larry took us everywhere we wanted to go. He was very knowledgeable and told great stories. We were scheduled for a 5 am pickup to the Oakland Airport from Petaluma and Larry was in front of our home at 4:45 am. We all had a pleasant conversation on the way to the airport and all went perfectly. For our return trip two weeks later we arrived at Oakland Airport, gathered our luggage and called the number Five Emerald gave us to call upon our arrival. Within 10 minutes of our call, Mike pulled up to the curb, loaded our luggage and we were on our way back to Petaluma. Best service in the Bay Area! We were lucky enough to be picked up by Five Emerald on rainy night. The service is very professional and timely. This is a very rare gem - a limo company that actually meets or exceeds reasonable expectations. I've had so many bad experiences with limo companies that I get excited if they even show up. But five star is way better than most. I used them to get from SFO to downtown San Francisco and back and they provided exceptional service. The drivers were well-dressed, professional, well-spoken and polite. They were on time or early both coming and going and the cars were in great condition and comfortable. It's expensive compared to other services but it's also dependable, reliable, safe and efficient so in my book it's worth it. My husband and I called Ira earlier this year based on my experience with his company, Five Emerald Limousine, last year to ask him if he would be willing to drive us down Highway 1 for a week. He agreed and he picked us up at SFO and drove us to our hotel. He picked us up a few days later in a very comfortable and luxurious SUV Excalade and drove us to our first stop - the Menlo Park Tesla dealer for our test drive. Our drive was enjoyable and we talked about our visit in SF and this exciting new car we were ready to test drive. Ira drove us to Monterey, Morro Bay and Santa Barbara. He is very professional and is very focused on exceptional service. He is always on time. We asked Ira to stop so many times down Highway 1 and he was always so friendly and kind. Always felt safe since we knew that we could enjoy the scenery and never be concerned about getting lost since Ira was always in control and knew how to get us to all of the hotels and restaurants. I read reviews about them on Yelp, and booked them for my preferred clients. I emailed them for quotes and expected to hear back later that day or the next day. I heard back in about 5mins! I thought it was an auto response to my email, it was so fast!! That was how great there service was the entire time. Every email answered promptly, with exactly the info I asked for. I used this service for a town car rental. It was about $80 one way from Pacifica to Russian Hill in San Francisco. They were a little bit tardy picking us up but we were only there 5 minutes after the reservation which is not a huge deal. What surprised me was the fact that it wasn't a Lincoln Towncar but a diesel Mercedes sedan. It was really new, nice, and comfortable. Our driver was great too. It was a little time consuming making the reservation over the phone and it would be nice to have an option to pay online but I found it by searching on Yelp. read more

Today we are leaving San Francisco. Five Emerald was supposed to pick us up in Half Moon Bay at 10am for a ride to the airport. Through a communications glitch they had 10pm. At 1030 we called, sussed out .the error and started sweating. At 1105 Larry arrived and 30 minutes later we were at the airport in plenty of time for our flight. Our guide Robert was punctual, courteous and very outgoing. His kindness and assistance to our mother who required special attention due to the use of a walker was unsurpassed. His knowledge of the wine regions and the specific wineries is fantastic and the tailored trip was constantly changed on the run based on our likes, requests and questions. The service provided for a day in Napa and Sonoma was so wonderful we requested him for a general tour of the San Francisco area the following day. On previous visits to San Francisco we used the shuttle vans but this last visit we were travelling with my parents, aged 83, who had mobility problems. We also had lots of luggage and a travel wheelchair. We looked at the choices for cars. Five Emerald had a good website that made it easy to price the trip. We couldn't decide whether to use the meet & greet so emailed to ask. We got a prompt reply suggesting that kerbside pick up would be better. Booked online very easily. Chose the Escalade as it offered plenty of room as well as luggage space. We got a phone call from the company whilst we were in the baggage area (we were delayed due to a missing bag) asking us to let them know when we were ready. We did. Had a small mix up outside. A driver from Five Emerald with a town car was calling for his passengers. We heard the name and went over. The driver was keen to get going but we pointed out that this wasn't the car we had ordered. Then our Escalade turned up. (It turned out the couple on the sidewalk who were watching us talking to the town car driver were the actual passengers he was waiting for. How they didn't hear him calling for them I don't know!) Our driver was very efficient, getting us and our luggage settled in swiftly. I can't remember his name but he was excellent (I think he said he was from Brazil.) The car was immaculate and there were bottles of water provided (I was really glad of this as I was so thirsty but didn't have time to get anything at the airport.) Our drive to Fisherman's Wharf took us along the Embarcadero. Our driver pointed out landmarks and answered my parents' questions as well as driving very carefully. The route looked extra special with all the Christmas lights. Even now my father is still talking about how much he enjoyed the drive and seeing the sights. We will definitely be booking with Five Emerald when we next visit. read more
