    I've gone back and forth on posting this for over a year. However looking back at my experience I can't help but be upset by the way it was handled. In October 2021 I took a ride with Five Emerald Limousine with my family. The day started off fine, but ended terribly. We left our last spot of the day around 3pm, providing a specific address for our final destination. After a few minutes we noticed we were going the wrong way and brought this up to our driver. He told us he was following the GPS and that it was the right way. A few minutes later we were no longer on a road, but on loose gravel path. At this time we asked to turn around. Our driver agreed, stating he was going to pull up a little more and then turn around. Our driver decided to turn around on a long grass hill (just past a loose gravel turnaround). The limo got stuck and at that time we got out of the limo because it felt dangerous. It was a good thing we did become as the driver was trying to reverse the limo, the grass underneath the limo caught on fire. We had noticed a fire extinguisher in the car on our ride up, so we went to get it to put the fire out, but the doors to the limo were locked. We banged on the windows profusely for what felt like minutes. The driver finally unlocked the doors, we put the fire out and then the driver came out of the limo discombobulated and in a haze from the fumes. A few key takeaways from this experience... 1. SAFETY. We truly could have been seriously injured if we had not insisted on getting out of the limo while the driver turned around on a hill (I can't help but think about the unfortunate events of when people have died inside limos with locked doors when fires have taken place ). 2. CUSTOMER SERVICE. As the sun was starting to go down and we were waiting for another car that the driver told us was coming (which never came). I called the limo service phone number provided just to ensure they were aware of what was going on and that another car was truly on it's way. I was faced with attitude and dismissal. It wasn't until I advocated for myself and informed him that the winery we were at in Saint Helena had called the Fire Department and CHP to look into this matter because no car should have been where we were AND that the winery we had visited us felt terrible for us that went ABOVE AND BEYOND to ensure we had ride since we were stranded. It wasn't until that that the individual from Five Emerald Limo said a manager would be calling me. 3. FOLLOW THROUGH. I was offered a free ride (see attachment text message). When I initially received this offer, I wasn't comfortable taking it because I wasn't comfortable getting in another Five Emerald Limo. However, after some time I thought I would give it another shot, sometimes people and companies deserve a second chance. Unfortunately when I reached back out on this offer, the fine print (that wasn't included in this text message) was shared and I was informed that the free ride would only be to the Airport (10 minutes away) and that it would not be the same free ride I had initially taken (bay area to Saint Helena). The manager went back on her word and to me after a situation like this, that is unacceptable.

    Needless to say, one can never pay enough for piece of mind. But when you have your mother in law with you that goes double. This was our first family plane trip with our two toddlers 3 & 2. We wanted to travel as lightly as possible for obvious reasons so no car seats in tow, but how were we going to get to our hotel? I thought about BART, taxi, and even rental. None of those offered the smooth transition I was looking for until I came across Five Emerald the night before our trip. I was able to request car seats for the kiddos and even meet and greet service upon our arrival. Of course the main selling point was that I could have the piece of mind of getting the kids to the hotel safely secured in car seats and that I wouldn't be worried about hearing anything from my mother in law. In hindsight it would have been easier to do the curbside pick up which entails calling them when ready vs the meet and greet but I thought that would have been a nice touch since we were celebrating my wife's birthday. With the meet and greet you have to walk to the car with the driver and all of your stuff. The communication between Five Emerald/ Ira and myself was excellent. I actually changed the regular pick up to meet and greet on our way to LAX and had confirmation of the change within a few minutes. I wouldn't hesitate to use Five Emerald again on a future visit to SF and would recommend this to any of our parent friends out there.

    Easy to use service, reliable, on time, professional, etc. etc. I recommend and would use them again. They are not cheap though.

"Michael' pulled our file and confirmed our address and cellphone number and confirmed that their driver would pick us at 6:45 am on the agreed date for a 9:00 am flight. At exactly 6:45 am on flight day I received a phone call from the driver, asking whether 21st street was our cross street because he couldn't find our address. I asked him where he was, because there is no 21st street here (oof anywhere in Marin as far as I know}. He replied that he was in Oakland, not in Marin County. I then had to get all of our things into our car and head to SFO in rush hour traffic and fog. Fortunately we made the flight, barely. En route I called "Michael" and told him what had happened. He was unapologetic, saying that he hadn't been told by the driver and that the driver must have been confused or been given the wrong address. When I told him to cancel our return pickup since we obviously had our own car at SFO, he just mumbled "yes, I guess I should cancel." In the past both Pacific's dispatchers and its drivers seems to be Russian, but spoke perfect English, and were excellent in all respects. Neither Michael nor the driver this time were either Russian or remotely alert. I don't know if the company has changed hands, but it certainly has changed its performance. Never again.
