Butch Annie's is the one of the best burger joints I've ever had. And in the UK, too!! Best was the Jack and the Rosemary chips. Liked the shakes, liked the Oh La La. Servers were kind and prompt. Fun ambience.

The restaurant description: Finest dry-aged beef, cheddar cheese, tomato, date & walnut jam, caramelised onions, rocket, honey & truffle mayo. I had the burger sans onions and it was quite good. The sweetness of the date & walnut jam was a nice balance to the umami flavor of the beef. The bun held up well with all the ingredients in-between which made for a pleasant dining experience...if you've ever had a burger on a disintegrating bun, you'll appreciate a good quality bun like they use here. The Parmesan and Truffle Chips we're just okay. Not much parmesan and any truffle oil used was not detectable. I would probably just recommend the regular chips instead. Overall I'm recommending Butch Annie's for when you're in Cambridge and craving a high quality burger. They also have a pretty good Classic Rock playlist going (for your listening pleasure) so your ears don't get jealous of your tongue.

They checked on me often to ensure I was enjoying my meal. The shop inside is very clean and doesn't feel congested. Now, to the food. I went with a Vegan Chicken Burger, and it was by far my favorite dish from the restaurant. It was juicy, had a perfect amount of sauce and was warm enough where I didn't need to wait for it to cool down. The onion rings were the next favorite. They were a bit overly greasy but not to the point where it interrupted my meal. The cheesy bites were my least favorite. Just not what I was expecting. NOW that doesn't mean they tasted bad. Just not for my taste is all. More creamy inside than solid cheese. The Oreo shake was something I spotted on the menu with a popular rating, so I gave it a try and I'm so happy I did! It was served in a large portion cup and was filled to the top. It was super creamy and I ended up finishing the whole cup. All in all, great service and good food. Now would I come here again? Why not, but I have a better understanding of what I'm looking for now. If you're in town, I recommend the burgers and smoothies!

This was the venue of choice for our extended Valentine's date. I ordered from the Valentine's set…read moremenu and opted for the seabass ceviche for a starter, and duck for a main. The seabass ceviche was really excellent. The fish tasted super fresh and was mixed with crunchy lettuce and creamy avocado which made a great contrast of textures. Even though others on the table had charcuterie and Camembert I didn't have food envy -though that's not to say I didn't snaffle bits of other people's. All delicious. The duck was beautifully cooked and very flavoursome. It came with some very tasty veg and spinach, and a veritable tower of potato. I didn't enjoy the potato tower as much as I could as it wasn't very creamy and had potato skins in it - not really my scene. Along with my meal I had a delicious bottle of red. I can't remember what it was but our waitress took the time to help us out with the wine list. The price was fairly reasonable and I was happy with the service - overall this is a great place and I'd recommend to Cambridge dwellers and visitors. One thing to note: the toilets are outside and then inside another building. Do not be alarmed if a staff member directs you to the toilet and all of a sudden you're in the street!

They had both a set menu and a standard menu to choose from. The set menu didn't particularly take my fancy so I avoided it, that was purely a personal choice though there was nothing wrong with it. For starters I shared a baked Camembert, which was served with toast, salad and an onion chutney. It was pretty good although more toast would have been appreciated. For the main course I had the fillet steak and came across one of the nicest steaks I've ever had. It took me by surprise to be honest i wasn't expecting it! The chips it came with were nothing special though. The only comment I would have is that I asked for it medium and it came way less than medium, wasn't complaining though I was very glad they did so! The whole meal came to £30-40 each including drinks which wasn't too bad at all considering we all had steak or fish. Overall I had a great time, the staff were friendly and efficient and if I could give it 4.5 I would. It falls shy of a 5 unfortunately though.

Got the fish and chips: 1 big piece of fish, perfectly fried and a light and crispy batter. However, the fish didn't taste fresh. Also, the peas were underdone (I would have preferred mushy peas). My kid wanted the pulled pork chips without cheese and sriracha but the girl at the bar said we should just get chips with a side of pulled pork, which was exactly the same and you save £2. Pork was tasty but dry. Spicy chicken sando wasn't spicy so disappointed. Also got the beet salad with goat cheese - way too much spinach. The cask ale hit the spot for such a long walking tour. The place got real busy afterwards - best for drinking imo.

The employee made eye contact with me then proceeded to take another person's order (someone not in the queue). At first I waited because it may have been a misunderstanding. Then this employee makes eye contact with me again and proceeds to take the order of the person directly behind me. I don't know if it was because I am an Asian woman or American but it was my first time experiencing such treatment after three months in England. Then after I finally reluctantly ordered my mac n cheese while contemplating the reason for this absurd service it further saddened me because the food was extremely salty. Never again

But the food quality is substantially better than that of fast food restaurant and this place is no different. Shared a Boneless Platter and although the flavors was spot on, was a bit disappointed with the amount they gave us. Felt like the chicken thighs were a bit smaller than usual and so were each of the sides. Regardless, the flavors was pretty good as the chicken wasn't super dry and worked well with the extra sauces that you can grab on the side. I also appreciate the garlic bread, crunchy on the top and soft in the middle. My favorite thing to order is the chicken thighs because of how tender it is, but the chicken butterfly/breast is also not too bad Overall, pretty good experience at this Nando's other than the fact that the serving size was quite small. I would say that this Nando's fluctuates with the amount of seats available - Saturday lunch is around a 30 minute wait while Sunday dinner is completely empty.

(I'm not complaining, but I wouldn't recommend coming here if you are on a tight schedule.) I got the Rainbow salad with chicken. WOW! This was an incredible salad. Grains, pickled vegetables, a good kick on the chicken sauce. My only (tiny) complaint is that the knives at the restaurant were too dull to cut through the broccolini. I felt quite feral as I tried (and failed) to saw through it with essentially a butter knife. Still, not a big deal and the food was 10/10 worth it!
