Five Star Chevy sold us a 2019 Acadia with 36,400-ish miles that we learned within the same week of buying it that it had previously been in an accident, poorly repaired and not reported to Carfax or disclosed to us before purchasing. This was a vehicle we paid 60% cash for. We struggled to get a meeting with decision makers at the dealership for 9 days. Once we had the ear of the sales team we presented 3 options to remedy the issues, either buy the vehicle back from us for what we had in it, fix the major issues for us, or pay the $2,300 diminished value a third party company determined was owed to us. Ultimately the sales mgr from Five Star laid out the sales paperwork on the desk and said, that's your signature right, enjoy the vehicle as is, or trade it in on a new one and we'll help you out because the deal is not changing. They also added a $595 exterior protective coating. Never once did a salesperson mention this option being added to my deal, nor do I know if the work was done. I didn't notice the charge until I printed the sales documents from the thumb drive they give you (yes it's paperless now). When I returned and called them on it they wouldn't refund that money and said you signed for it, you should've read the paperwork. They also gave us 1 key fob (vehicle is keyless). We asked for a 2nd, but were denied because of costs. We used a roaming key service they recommended to purchase a 2nd fob. While the key company was programming the 2nd fob the tech discovered they could only program the fob, not also cut the emergency key that's hidden inside the fob. This is because the dealers fob was also a copy, not an original. This means the dealer didn't even provide us with 1 complete key for our vehicle and leaves us without a way to open it if the battery dies. On top of a $288 2nd fob we purchased the dealership said we were also responsible for the $150 laser cut key for their 1st fob. After meeting the sales mgr and leaving without resolution to these issues the sales mgr later walked out to our vehicle. He said, you said you didn't inspect this vehicle and that's why you didn't discover these damages beforehand. If you didn't inspect it how did you come up with 14 things wrong with it in this email to the salesperson. I replied that those things are mostly interior items we noticed while test driving it and the rest were noticed while briefly walking around it with the salesperson. He replied that I was a liar and lied to his face about not inspecting the car. He said this email is an inspection. I replied that I didn't inspect the car, I reviewed it for a few mins, in the dark, 15 minutes before closing and it wasn't even washed yet to where I could've seen everything. I added that I never saw the car again until I took delivery of it 2 days later. He was baffled I never saw the car again before buying it, but he was still mad that I apparently lied to him that a 5 minute walk around wasn't classified as an inspection in my book. That very first night I saw the web ad I called the salesman at 7:22pm letting them know I wanted to come see the vehicle the following day. The salesman invited us to come that night and said he didn't mind staying. We arrived at the dealership at 7:50pm. We walked around the car, drove it a few blocks, pulled the Carfax, talked a minute outside on the sidewalk and left by 8:29pm. That's the extent of seeing the car before buying. The salesman even called my phone while test driving asking where we were because it was taking longer than he expected. I feel like I bought an auction vehicle from a shady used car dealer, not from the local Chevy dealership where I expect higher standards and better customer service. Let's not forget this is a dealership I've now bought 6 vehicles from over 14 years, 5 of which were brand new. They also knew I'm planning to buy two new vehicles in 2022. They sacrificed all of my business for a total of $3,045 in legitimate issues and fees we were not satisfied with. Lesson learned! read more

Ok so first off I made an appt through my email, when I called to confirm they had no record of my appt. But no worries they were able to squeeze me in for an oil change. I had to wait about 2 hours because it was busy, but Gabriel Abott was very Forthcoming with the wait and order my car would be serviced, asking every so often if there was anything he could get me, they gave my children balloons to occupy them, and honored my coupon. So, this morning I called and since no one had reached out to me concerning servicing my vehicle. I asked to speak to the advisor by name at 8am and was placed on hold. Why did 2 other people have to answer the phone when I specifically asked for a particular person? Finally got to speak to the advisor. After being placed on hold to "check to see if items had come in" ,I was I formed that "the carpet is here but the door part didn't come in because GM is on strike". Ok,so no one still didn't have courtesy enough to call and let me know this? ,and after I have called 3 days straight to inquire about this!!! As I stated very poor customer service. Not doing too good at all about retaining customers. 5 Star has got to do a whole lot better and you wonder why customers or potential customers give reviews of dissatisfaction.‍‍ read more

I met all of you today, I was very disappointed that I could not speak with you regarding a car I wanted to purchase. The sales rep, Kari Strickland told me the car arrived two weeks ago. The car reeked of cigarette smoke and had burn marks on the panel on the driver and passenger sides. Kari assured me the car arrived two weeks ago. When Kari submitted to me the pre owned certified warranty and the carfax report, I was disappointed to know the car has been at the Warner Robbins dealership since 12/2018. The car was listed with 23k plus miles. When I drove the car, the odometer read 24k plus miles. You all are selling cars that I suspect are damaged in your dealership and you're expecting the customer to repair. Then your manager, Chad told me I can leave $1k non refundable deposit and if the burn marks were not repaired to my satisfaction, I loose my money. Next Chad questioned financing which I had already discussed with Kari. He stated he would save me from coming back with my financing if I financed with your dealership when I already told him I had financing. The car was not ready to go today, no matter whom I financed with. As Kari stated, the folks who repair the items we discussed would be contacted on Monday. Chad treated me like I was not a very bright customer. Your false advertisement as well as persistent manager who wanted me to finance with your dealership, becoming disrespectful to me regarding this sale was such an awful experience. I am so disappointed that I did not get this vehicle. When I asked to see you, Chad told me you were in a meeting for an hour or more. Then, I see you walk in an office, talk to another customer and totally disregard my husband and myself. So disappointed. Such a warm reception turned into a wasteful day because your team were dishonest in how long the car had been there and disrespectful to a customer who just wanted to purchase a car. What's the next step. Do you always allow your staff to sell cars that your staff ride around, smoke up, damage and pass on to the customer with an "oh well" attitude? Additionally, Chad stated all that he said to me was policy, I asked for the policy in writing, he stated policies are not in writing. Really, how absurd. The paperwork that I was requested to sign was not applicable to a person bringing their own financing. Help me please understand how a major dealership does not have updated information for a consumer. The longer I sat the more my gut feeling and intuition said walk away. I would still like to know if this is normal business practices and for you to weigh in on this awful experience. I don't want to believe this experience was anything but your sales force flexing their authority or ability to keep a car in your inventory that actually is an in house car used by management to ride around, devalue and list because they're told to list. The service department is terrible and should be avoided. I felt no kind of personal connection with any member of the service team. I waited two hours after my car was ready with no idea that it was sitting in the parking lot. I was told they tried to find me, but i sat in the lobby the whole time only leaving to use the restroom. I was given no apology and believe they made minimal effort even though the paperwork clearly said that I was waiting. I have spent my last dollar with this department and will take my business elsewhere. read more

Cadillac.com had a promotion on their website that offered a $100.00 VISA gift card for coming in to a participating dealership and test driving a new Cadillac. The only stipulations were that you had to be 21 or older, have a valid driver's license and show proof of ownership of a 2004 or newer vehicle. I registered for the test drive at Five Star Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac in Warner Robins, GA and got an email from one of the salesmen. I called him to confirm they were participating and he confirmed that they were. When I got there, however, they played dumb and showed me a piece of paper that showed it ending on April 17. I told them that the deal was current and that it was, apparently, extended. When it was obvious that they weren't going to honor the deal, I departed and communicated with them in sign language as I departed. These folk's pictures should be in the dictionary next to the word SHYSTER! They have proven their dishonesty to me and I'm sure they'd lie to anyone at any time for any reason. My advice to everyone - AVOID Five Star Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac like the PLAGUE!!! UPDATE: When I got home I realized they have spammed my email address to what seems like every auto dealership in the southeast. I brought a vehicle in because it was having issues cold starting and the Service Engine Light was on (came on when the cold start issue started). While the woman who helped me was fantastic the end result was HORRIBLE! Not only were their parts WAY over priced (I could have gotten them off Amazon for a fraction of the price) but they did nothing to fix my issue. The Check Engine Light came back on the next morning (cold start issue still present) which is typical when the problem is not fixed but the computer "code" is reset. Why did I not bring it back in? Why would I? I did not feel like being over charged AGAIN with the possibility of the issue not being fixed AGAIN. So I googled my ORIGINAL problem then ordered a GM part, for a great price, off Amazon. I installed it with the help of YouTube then had the Kind folks at the oil change place off Russell Parkway reset and reprogram my vehicle computer "code" for FREE. Problem solved! Thank you for that unnecessary overpriced part and an unfixed vehicle, "Fivestar". Oh and I also enjoyed them making my wallet $550.00 lighter. I now recommend Jeff Smith Chevrolet to my friends, family, co-workers, etc. Summary: my experience was horrible and I am very dissatisfied. read more

Price gouging!!! $1098.00 for breaks and rotors, then with minimal negotiation on my part the service rep I think his name was Brian cut the price by a 32% to $750.00. By the way I do not drive a Corvette, I drive a 2010 Malibu. I was going to have a lot of work done on my vehicle but at the prices you charge I would have to sell my house. It makes me wonder if this is just a cheap tactic to scare a person into buying a new car. This is the worst dealer and service department. DO NOT COME HERE!!! My wife had a 10:30 AM appointment for service on Saturday 11/03/18. Arrived on time and got the paperwork stamped at 10:31. While she was sitting in the waiting room could see, using the Chevrolet app, that the car was not moving out the parking lot but in the meantime the dealer was moving forward all the walk-ins. Two hours later the car was still in the same place so a Supervisor was called and the answer was that there were too many walk-ins that day... She requested to get the car back but they forced her to sign the typical service paper indicating that the work was done in order to get her key back, after signing she requested a copy of the paper and that request was also denied, a sales representative helped her to get a copy. As soon as she got back in the car could see that all the counters were reset with no work at all been performed. So in addition to the lack of respect we can add that this so called "dealer" also tempered with the computer's car. read more

Terrible customer service in the service center. Each time my car goes to Five Star Chevrolet, something else is broken. I had the fuel pump replaced because it was on recall, and two days later my "fuel emissions" valve had to be replaced because it was "stuck" open. They also overcharge you for labor hours. Furthermore, the management at Five Star is abysmal. They do not respond and/or attend to customer reviews. Very disappointing company. read more

Five star Chevy is a mediocre excuse for a dealership. Their used cars are not apparently examined before they sell them because as I quote them " It is too hard to look over the whole car" but if I was selling something to someone I'd make sure it was in mint condition and if not I would tell the buyer what the issues are before hand. We bought our car sept 2020 and this car has been in and out of the shop 5-7 times and had really bad alignment issues. We brought our car in that we bought from them to get a headlight issued fixed. They told us it was around 2000 grand to fix it because it was not included in warranty due to it being "aftermarket", but we bought it that way from them with a 2000 dollar warranty. We left then got a second opinion and we were informed that it was not even an aftermarket headlight and it's only a 20-300 dollar fix. I would not recommend their services they take advantage of people they think do not know anything about cars. Definitely sending this to the business bureau and writing Chevrolet that they are throwing dirt on their company! If no stars were an option that's what they'd get! read more

I went in for a recall ended up talking to Reggie (sales person) who I knew would not be able to get me in a BRAND NEW car with my horrible credit and being so far upside down on the car i was in... well he did!!! To all reader of this post, Since my last post,, my negative comment was placed in the non- recommended review section so I can't edit that post. So I'm entering a follow-up to that previous post. Previous entry recap: I took my 2003 Yukon Denali to Five Star Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC (FSCCBG) for a faulty engine oil pressure instrument panel gauge. Paid diagnostic fee to find I needed to replace oil pressure sending unit. I receive repair cost (see original post) and disagreed with pre-bill quote. I expressed my concerns to service adviser and service manager and refused getting my Yukon repaired there. Since, service manager has contacted me to talk about events surrounding my frustrations with their repair facilities. I believe I'm a good judge of character once I've conversed with and individual, and I'll say the service manager seemed truly genuine at heart and wanted to right the wrong that had previously transpired with having my Yukon repaired. He offered to cover repair cost of my vehicle in order to show he values my trust as well as the customer's trust. After we talked, service adviser is trying to identify and correct any areas of concern within repair section and management if warranted. So for service managers effort, I applaud him and feel he has the customers interest at heart. read more

** IMPORTANT ** STAY FAR FAR AWAY... This is by far the worst experience I have ever had working with a dealership after a purchase. Words can not explain my displeasure and it's a shame because the original visit and sale was great. However, I have been called back to the dealership literally 8 times to sign the same paperwork over and over because they kept losing it! Seriously? How do you keep losing the same freaking paperwork. You do this everyday and yet you can't manage the packet? Not to mention, they made me go to them, on my own time and gas to fix their mistake. Countless time wasted. Annoying and unnecessary calls about the same crap. How many times are you going to tell me "we're all set here, got what we need" and then call me to say otherwise. That's bad business. Lastly, I recommended an individual to purchase a vehicle from them which he did and the dealership has also seemed to lost, forgot, or discarded my referral. A month ago, Kim told me my check was gonna be mailed out. Yesterday, Deborah says nothing in the system, no check mailed and Brad (GM) won't approve. Go figure. Even when I show undeniable proof of the referral, they claim a simple policy procedure prevents them from paying out the referral fee now. Get the heck out of here. I'm sorry but this dealership is in need of some serious new management. Have all kinds of issues and ask to speak directly to the GM to get it worked out... yeah right. Guess he is too good to speak with a customer that just spent $80k on vehicles and pretty much sold another $50k vehicle for him. Why would he want to talk to me anyways, he already got my money. Had an 11:30 appointment for first warranty oil and filter change and tire rotation on new truck which was purchased there. Waited in the waiting area for 5 hours for this to be completed. Service advisor never came in to update us on why it was taking so long and was short with us when we went back to ask why. Went in to look at a vehicle that was priced right in our budget, " internet price". I had always been skeptical going to any 5 star dealership in the Macon/Warner Robins area. Salesman seemed like he wasn't sure of himself while talking to me about the car, wouldn't return phone calls, wouldn't return text messages. I had to call him numerous times to get a hold of him and he was still lost, and supposedly he had 20 years experience in sales.. So I went in with intentions of purchasing that same vehicle, oh that was wrong price on internet and we can not sell it to you for that price now. SO I told them if they get do out the door price I wanted we would buy it, that was last week, haven't heard form them since!!? I will never ever buy/recommend from/to any 5 star dealership to anyone. I have now had 3 five star dealerships try and either screw me over or just very bad salesman, sales management. This is my second time dealing with this dealership and I'm hoping it will be my last. I had a terrible experience purchasing my 2018 vehicle. Everything people say about this place is true, they got me in a car with promises of one price, upon signing paperwork I was told a totally different one. The "finance manager" Brandon is the rudest person and I am continually calling their customer service lines to report this man. They contacted me a month after paperwork was done asking me to return their car and pay for miles I put on it. They gave me the run around before completely ignoring my calls and I am now aware that I can actually keep the car. They disclosed personal information with my coworkers and could not care less about my complaints. I contacted the customer service rep in the office and explained my problems. She promised to call back with some resolution but never did. This place is a joke. Don't walk, RUN to another dealership. read more

The way the financing is presented is a scam. We were "negotiating" when we were given a price of a vehicle along with a chart that showed the amount of months/down payment vs the monthly payment. We then stated if you lower it we will have a deal. So they came back and showed us a chart with NO numbers of cost. They stated we would pay this much a month with no down payment. (The monthly payment was obviously lower). When we asked to see the numbers, after begging, we finally were given them and they never changed. So how do monthly payments go down without changing any of the final numbers/amount of the vehicle? When confronted and asked to be given our keys to leave 3 different "financial managers" came to discuss how it is a great price and they would lower it by 100$. My father demanded my keys again st which the last manager told my father that they were, "already losing money by having the sticker price so low." So two things, how does the price of a monthly payment change by taking away a down payment and not changing the numbers, were they going to just pocket the additional money that was NOT ever included in the price of the vehicle? And how do you insult ones intelligence by saying you would lose money by selling a vehicle by the sticker price that, that business placed on it? What kind of business stays open by selling vehicles that would ultimately cost them? Do not give this place your business unless you want to be insulted and your money stolen! read more

Service department is dishonest and not friendly to those of us who know something about cars. I called to get a quote to replace my cabin air filter in my 2013 Malibu. After being transferred 3 times, I had to hang up and call back because I got transferred to voicemail. After calling back, I was given a quote of $79.99 plus tax. When I asked which brand of filters they use, she told me "Just GM filters." I then asked how long it would take, she hung up on me. No joke. I went to O'Rielly and paid $11 for a cabin air filter, came home and showed my 15 year old son how to change it, which took 10 minutes. read more

I am appalled by the lack of customer service that my family has received at Five Star Chevrolet!!! I purchased a 2013 Chevy Tahoe in Texas but we obviously are serviced at Five Star. My truck was serviced roughly 8 months ago for engine issues (cams, lifts, etc.) and we are having the same issues again. Took the truck in on Friday and was told the tentative diagnosis was the same as the previous problem but the engine would have to be taken apart to confirm. Long story short, they would need my truck for at LEAST 3 days. First, an option of a loaner car was not even offered to me, which is a foul. So, when I asked for a loaner car (we have a two car household with busy schedules, 3 boys in sports, etc.) I was told there were none available and they didn't know when there would be some because they aren't tracked. I was told to call back and check to see if any came in on Saturday. Called back, and was told that to the person who answered the phone's knowledge, none were coming in. The system was not checked or verified; customer service is nonexistent!!! The right thing to do would be to take care of a customer that was inconvenienced by not having a vehicle. We also have an Acura and I can promise if presented with this same situation at Sutton Acura it would have been handled the right way!!! I have heard rumors about lack of customer service, shady deals and dishonest practices by Five Star, but now, from my own personal experience, I would not recommend this dealership to anyone!!! read more

Update to last review. They finally apologized for their performance and did not charge me for the front end alignment I had added to the brake repair. They also gave me a loaner-car till the truck was fixed. But... the warranty I purchased is supposed to pay for rental anyway. Also, the truck was in there for two weeks... for a simple brake boost pump replacement. They were very courteous the whole time though. I would have appreciated a daily update, I had to call after three days of no feedback. Tommy Christianson (regional maint mgr) got things going for me and I appreciate his help. read more

Spent four hours making the deal on a new Silverado. Paperwork signed and drive home. 6 days later they call and tell me the financing has changed and my payments are going up $100 a month. Also told I have to sign the paperwork because I have had the truck now. Long story short they took the truck back and I will be looking elsewhere for a new truck. Worst experience I have ever had buying a new vehicle. Still don't understand how they can void the paperwork we signed on the original deal. Either way. Very dissatisfied with Five Star Chevy. In particular Jason one of the sales managers. Also curious if they will still attempt to sell that truck as new. It had over 600 miles on it when I returned it. read more

READ EVERY LINE OF YOUR CONTRACT BEFORE YOU SIGN!! We would like to give them the benefit of the doubt but I am having problems in doing that. We told the finance person in no uncertain terms that we did NOT want their service contract due to the experience with other vehicles and service contracts. When later reviewing the contract, my wife asked why there was a $3500 service contract fee. I was unaware of that and returned to the dealership. The person we dealt with was gone but we were told the amount would be removed. Three weeks later the amount has NOT been removed. We have already paid our first payment and interest. The bank also stated that we would have to pay the full amount each month which is more than it would have been without the service contract. We could have bought this truck anywhere but decided to go here. We will not return even for servicing. They also said (twice) they would transfer our tag but we got a brand new one in the mail. We had to go to straighten that out ourselves with the motor vehicles. All we got was a shrug and sorry but no help in resolving any of this. Very poor customer service and attitude. read more

I will Never take my vehicle back there for service again!! The first time it was with my 2015 Chevrolet Impala. Went in for oil change and got home there was a hug puddle of oil in my garage where it had leaked out.Had to take it back. The SECONDtime took our 2016 GMC Sierra in for oil change, tire rotation and balance, the mechanic that worked on it forget to replace the lug nuts back on the front passenger side and it caused damage to my wheel and other things had to get replaced. I could have easily killed or hurt myself or someone else because of there negligence.That was on the 24th of May. They gave us a loaner to use and had to return it today June15,2018 with the understanding that our vehicle was fix and back to safe driving condition!! Leaving the service DEPT I noticed that I had to mash the breaks completely to the floor,and the truck didn't want to come to a completely stop.I called back and was told that the service DEPT had closed and that NOBODY was there to help me.I made it home and then found out after letting someone else get in the vehicle that the breaks need to be bleed!!! When and what is it going to take for them to realize that they are putting there customers life in danger because of there negligence, not properly doing their job, checking over their work. i purchased a 1500 truck from them and it was listed and sold as brand new, when i got the truck home i then proceeded to set up the onstar. when i pressed the button to set it up they addressed me as someone by a different name,, long story short five star sold me a truck had been sold and titled already as a new truck,not to mention i found out the truck had major engine work as in heads reworked... wow these people are all bout the money and nothing else, beware...ofcourse they denied having any knowledge, right! contacted the bbb and five star would not answer the concern.....................................now ask yourself is that fivestar????? no, it is no star!!!! read more

Early October 2010, my wife & I purchased a 2008 Jeep Patriot with slightly over 20,000 miles from Five Star Chevrolet. Very nice vehicle. We found the vehicle online & drove quite a distance from the upstate of South Carolina to the dealership. After finalizing the deal, we prepared to drive off the the lot, we asked our sales rep where the second key was. We were informed that there wasn't a second key, but the sales rep promised that he would call the former owner of the vehicle to see if they have another key and if not, he would have one cut for us. Please keep in mind this was as we were about to drive off the lot & after all paperwork was signed, sealed & delivered. I called the sales rep back after a week. He stated that he hadn't yet contacted the former owner & that he would do so & call us back. We never heard back from him, so I called again. He stated that the former owner didn't have a key & that he would see what could be done about getting us a new key. We never heard back from him. I called him several times over the next few weeks & left voice mails, with no return calls. I finally resorted to calling & asking for a sales manager, who stated that the rep was not working that day. He promised to talk to the sales rep & then call me back. I never heard back from him. I called back again after two weeks, asking for a sales manager. I got a different sales manager & was again told that he wasn't working & they would speak with him & get back to me. Again, I never heard back from him. I called back one final time. This individual was slightly better in that he called me back, but informed me that since the key wasn't included in the paperwork (even though I found out about the lack of a key after the paperwork was completed), the sales rep claims he never promised me a new key and the fact that it had been 2 months since the car was purchased, they wouldn't get me a new key. This is simply unacceptable. I certainly hope that we don't accidentally lock our keys in the vehicle or worse yet, lock our dog in the car! I know this is a minor problem, but I believe in integrity & keeping promises made. They obviously do not train their staff on these two key business principles! read more
