The same day we called Billy (owner) came by and gave a quite accurate estimate that was in our price range, we were happy about it and decided to continue doing business with them. At first, we had simple, modern, and elegant/classy outlook on what we wanted done to our kitchen and bathroom. But after meeting with Billy again, he showed us that the possibilities are quite endless. Although, we had our idea about what we wanted, but ended up going with many of Billy's idea and were quite stubborn. His insights turned out incredible, his passion for his work is incredible. The main point is, our experience with them was beyond 5 stars. They were easily the most pinpoint and detailed renovators around. For anyone, looking for any type of house work from the simplest to the most elaborate, they are the ones. No bulls**t, they live up to their name!! They dont work like any others. From being EXTREMELY CLEAN and PRECISE with their work and they take their time on everything. All of their staff treated my house like it was their own. I've never seen cabinets and tiles more distinct and error-free. One more thing to add, they are definitely worth every penny spent on their services. Just bought a home in North Bergen and was recommended to contact Five Star Finish. I needed my kitchen to be gutted and and new flooring to be put in my living room and loft, and I can, without a doubt say, the work they did was amazing. This is my first home that my fiance and I have purchased and we knew nothing of the process when it comes to home renovating, but Billy and his team made this whole experience an easy and satisfying one. When ever we ran into what I thought was going to be an issue, Billy easily rectified it. He even made suggestions that we had not thought of that made our kitchen come out looking even more amazing than we thought it could. His recommendations for where to buy materials, were also amazing. We found exactly what we were looking for, and the people we worked with to get the materials were very easy and accommodating. There were a few instances where I wanted to make changes from the original plan, which I'm sure most contractors don't like, and without hesitation he accepted the changes with a positive attitude. During the entire process I had a ton of questions, but him and his team were more than happy to answer them. One issue I came across was the delivery of my appliances. The guys who delivered them did minimal work to deliver and install them (fridge, microwave). The fridge was slanted and they left the doors uneven, they claimed that the slant is due to the slant of the floors, Billy easily fixed it. The microwave, which is located in the island, could not have the trim installed because of the way the pocket was cut out, Billy fixed it. He took on these small extra jobs, which could have been avoided if the delivery guys (pcrichards) did their jobs right, without a second thought. He really does amazing work and I can't say enough about him and his team. I plan on doing work on my two guest bathrooms, and will definitely be contacting him to take on the jobs. read more

We had a bathroom pipe leak and cause significant damage to the kitchen ceiling below. It turns out we needed a gut bathroom renovation to solve the problem. We read reviews online and decided to call Five Star Finish--the best choice we could have made. At the beginning of the process, Billy patiently talked us through our options for repair and worked with our insurance company to make sure that our claim would be enough to get the job done the RIGHT way (without mismatched, patched tiles or flooring). We got an immediate and complete payout from our insurance company thanks to Billy. The Five Star Finish team is fast, professional and very skilled. They completely demolished our bathroom in less than a day, and the entire renovation only took about two weeks. I was particularly impressed with their tile work--I chose a complicated shower tile that required a lot of cuts to install and it looks immaculate. They also were very tidy, cleaning anything they might have touched at the end of each workday and leaving no traces of dust behind. You can tell right away that Billy has integrity and is passionate about his work and people in general. He never talked down to me or made me feel like my many questions were intrusive. And perhaps the best example of the kind of contractor Billy is: One afternoon, while he was waiting for the township inspector to arrive, he took it upon himself to fix a ton of random things in the house that needed repairs (but that had nothing to do with our original project). We are thrilled with our new bathroom and thrilled with our experience throughout the process. I had a few kitchen upgrades I was trying to do before the holidays and was having trouble finding someone that would take on the work at a fair price. I quickly came to realize that the "small" project i dreamed up would have required me to hire a plumber, electrician, handyman, and tile installer! I was delighted to find Billy from five star finish who came by the same day I called and gave me an estimate to do ALL the work at once. He came in with a small crew of him and two other guys. Everyone was very professional and clearly skilled at what they did. They installed a garbage disposal under my double sink. I knew the job was going to be a pain because of how the setup was previously installed and the fact that I wanted the biggest garbage disposal out there, but Billy and his team made light work of the situation. Next, I had a hood installed over the range that vented outside. I was a little nervous as any new homeowner would be having a hole cut in the side of my house, but Billy took me through all the options for venting and made me feel comfortable with the final outcome. After he installed the hood, he finished up the gap in the stone backsplash that was left from the removal of the microwave and matched it perfectly to the tile that was there. The install of both appliances and the tile work was super clean and was a massive upgrade to the functionality and look of my kitchen. When they were done with the work, they cleaned up as if they were never there. Billy and Billy at Five Star Finish are awesome! From the time I first reached out to them for an estimate, Billy has been very responsive and always quickly responds to texts and phone calls. He always answers his phone, which is a huge plus when it comes to communicating with contractors. We began updating our kitchen by ordering our own cabinets and thought we would contract each piece of work ourselves. After having Billy in for an estimate, we realized that we had no idea what we were doing, so we hired him to demo and install our cabinets, dishwasher, garbage disposal. We also hired him to do our tile backsplash. Billy's woodworking is amazing. The place where we ordered our cabinets did not deliver the fillers, which we didn't find out until Billy was installing the trim, and he was able to improvise using some of the extra trim. His tile work also looks awesome. We need to put some finishing touches on our kitchen and then we will post pictures so you can see for yourself!! While doing the kitchen, Billy brought his electrician, also named Billy, to do some electrical work and we ended up hiring him to replace most of our light fixtures and switches. He was so easy going and did everything we asked, even changing out some of the light fixtures that we asked him to replace because we decided to move a few of them around. He was very patient with us especially with some of the changes we made. Overall, these guys are super responsive, do amazing work, and are very patient and accommodating. We are over the moon with the final project of our kitchen renovation and have nothing but amazing things to say about Billy and his team. I don't even know where to begin! I was recommended Five Star Finish by a friend who had work done by them. My wife and I had new kitchen appliances and a washer and dryer that needed to be installed. Because of the way that things were previously installed, it turned out not to be such an easy job. They discovered that an electrical panel in the basement was not only against code, but it was a risk to my family and our home. They showed me the damage the panel had caused and how much of a ticking time bomb it could have been. Having a newborn baby, this meant a lot. This was obviously not part of the original plan but Billy and Team did not hesitate to run out to the store, get whatever they needed, and make the necessary repairs. They also showed me a few things that unfortunately our home inspector had missed, which I appreciated. I could go on in detail about the other issues they encountered during installation with the dishwasher, refrigerator and dryer but I won't. What I will tell anyone that reads this is that these guys take no shortcuts in their work. The work they do from running water lines, gas lines, and electric is top notch. My man Billy at Five star finish saved the day! We actually hired Billy to come in and fix another contractor's disaster! We had a small addition put on and kitchen renovation done. The other contractor only created a major nightmare for us. The new addition was done totally incorrect, literally sagging in the middle. It had to be completely ripped out and redone. He did an impeccable job!!! He did a complete mud job and tiled the entire first floor to perfection. We couldn't be happier! We also used him to redo our basement and bathroom. This young man does it all!! He is so skilled in carpentry, masonrey, electrical, plumbing, but his forte' is tile work. I've worked construction before and worked with alot of contractors through the years, Billy is second to none! i can't say enough good things about Billy. We had a great experience with Five Star Finish! We hired them to update a guest bathroom and install a completely new master bathroom in our house. Our master bathroom is my favorite room in the house now! They were less expensive than the three other companies I got estimates from and they finished each stage quickly. From the initial estimate to the final inspection, they were attentive and easy to work with. They listened to our wish list, gave us a detailed estimate for all the work involved, and made our second floor bathrooms even better than we hoped. They recommended great places to pick out our fixtures and tile, and even helped us get a good deal on the beautiful slab for our shower bench. They were also really nice guys and so helpful. Billy and different members of his team were in our house doing work for weeks, and they were always on time, friendly and clean. Our job involved plumbing, electric, different tile, dry wall, moving some of our heat and installation of a lot of different features. I don't even know where to begin.. Billy and Gianna went above and beyond in every possible way, and we could not be happier with all of the work they did. My husband and I are both from New York and our families are in construction, so we were very picky when meeting contractors and reviewing their work. From the second Billy came to the house we knew he was a perfect fit. He has so much passion and is one of the hardest working people you will ever meet. Being far away in New York, he would go to the house in the middle of a rainy night just to make sure we didn't have any leaks. If there was a late night delivery of furniture or something that had nothing to do with him, he would go to the house and make sure it was delivered properly and to lock everything up. On top of all of that he is a true perfectionist when it comes to the quality of his work. We couldn't have had a better experience with Billy and his team, who demolished and rebuilt our kitchen with new floors, cabinets and more. Billy in particular went out of his way to get me the farm sink I wanted--even when it seemed impossible due to the configuration, he found a way. The guys were always punctual and respectful and Gianna was on top of everything. While Five Star did the job I was able to work from home with almost no disruption. They were also patient and kind with our dogs, who were on premise while they worked. The team left the kitchen spotless every day--they mopped the floor before they left and stored tools tidily. Eric, Billy and Mike finished not just on time, but early. And the workmanship is truly outstanding, down to the crown molding and the intricate backsplash that took all day to install. Moreover, Five Star went the extra mile, doing some minor work that had not been in the initial contract and even volunteering to carry some heavy furniture to the curb for us. I recently had my kitchen and bathroom remodeled by Five Star Finish LLC. I have nothing but great things to say about Billy and his crew. From start to finish needless to say they were extremely professional. I have had some bad experiences with other contractors. It was extremely hard to find a reliable one. Five Star Finish LLC definitely came through with 5 stars! I was extremely pleased with how fast I received a reply from my initial message and scheduling an estimate. I did receive quotes from other contractors as well but knew right when I met Billy he was the only one I trusted. All the other contractors I had come to my house were either late, no showed, or were not professional or friendly. I was also worried about cleanliness in my house during the remodel. Billy and his crew left my place immaculate through the whole process. With our kitchen and bathroom it was a very fast turnover time, just about 2 months. I have heard some horror stories how people will get their kitchen or bathroom remodeled and it took 4-6 months. I want to start this review by saying it's hard to find good help these days. Ive had experiences in the past where you call the electrician/contractor and it takes them weeks to show up, and then weeks (if not months) to finish a job. Today, Billy & Billy of Five-Star Finish came by and surprisingly after only ONE phone call! No calling back and forth, no waiting for weeks...just one phone call. Both guys were polite and super professional/detailed, citing the existing issues that were causing the problems and potentially cause new problems. At the same time they were honest with me...telling me about a problem that was simply resolved by a switch in the circuit breaker as opposed to telling me we have to rewire the whole house like some other shady contractors would. These guys came here, did the job well, and didn't charge me an arm & leg. Overall, I would recommend this company to even my closest friends and family! We hired Five Star to fully renovate our kitchen. These guys say what they are going to do and then do it. My wife and I were very pleased. Billy and Gianna sat with us during the consultation and gave us some great ideas we hadn't even thought about. They gave us a detailed quote days later. It's been a year since we had our house redone and it still looks incredible. Since the job was complete I've had to call Billy and Steve (his AC and heat guy) to check on a few things, all of which were resolved in one visit. I like that I can call billy and he comes right away (same day of next day) and even better- I trust him in my house. He treats it as if it's his own. I hired Billy to replace a water heater (which he referred to his contact Steve that he works with) and Billy made sure Steve came right away. They worked late into the evening to make sure my family had hot water before they left. Billy also ended up redoing some electrical that was out-dated and needed to be replaced in addition to installing a new chandelier.
