I got some water from here and I like the store and it's a good gas station and very useful. Lovely little gas station in the middle of nowhere that serves up pretty cheap gas to the Kentucky community right off the highway from Cincinnati to Louisville. Starlight enjoyed getting gas here. She was all curled up on my lap and didn't really want to move but she took it pretty well. Sammy enjoyed it too. She was more curious looking around out the windows wondering why Daddy was getting out in the middle of nowhere. Don't worry my little girl. I'll never leave you.

We were making the trek from Columbus to Louisville when the the "idiot light" came on the dash indicating that we were dangerously low on gas. It was after 9pm we weren't sure we were going to find a fuel station or one that was going to still be open late and we were on a busy, but lonely stretch of highway. We hadn't seen any exits at all, especially something indicating we could get fuel. Not knowing how AAA service would handle a call or even if we had cell service, our concern grew. Desperate for gas, we continued on and discovered an exit for Campbellsburg, KY. We got off the freeway and were happy to discover that there were two stations just off the exit. We chose "Marathon, Quik-E-Mart." The cost of gas was even lower than we'd seen around Cincinnati. The manager, Christina was very friendly, the store and restrooms were clean, the merchandise was organized and neat and she told me they were open till 11 pm. So, we got some snack food for rest of the jaunt to Louisville and a full-up of gas and were off and running. Good place to know about if traveling this quiet stretch of road.

I wanted Subway, the slightly healthier option, and my husband chose McDonald's. While he used the app to place his order, I stood at the counter to order my sub. There was a young lady there who greeted us with a smile and overheard me asking my husband what day of the week it was. She immediately knew I was checking to see what "The Meal Deal of the Day" was. It was the Hot Honey Pepperoni. She went to the back to let the Sandwich Artists know that they had a customer. The two young men emerged from the back with a lack of enthusiasm but came over to glove-up and help me. I asked for the Turkey Titan on wheat. They were out of wheat bread, so I chose the Herb & Cheese bread and asked for the rounded end to be cut off. He repeated my request slowly in the form of a question, so I explained what I meant. He must have never received that request before. I also asked for mayo on the bread, rather than on the meat, which is what they usually do. Lastly I requested that my 6" sub be cut in half. He completed my sub and slid it into a bag with no napkins, so I retrieved some myself. Then we moved into the convenience store area and grabbed some 2/$3 small cans of Pringles, a couple bottles of Calypso fruit drinks, and I couldn't resist the overpriced gas station Tornado (Southwest Chicken & Cheese).
