Here's Al's rude response when I asked if it was possible to get a quote for a one hour point to point ride, which in reality would have been more like 30 minutes: "With all do respect keep looking . You get what you pay for . We are busy every weekend . Drivers in limos don't pull out of the lot like a taxi picking up and dropping." Ironically, he suggests that you get what you pay for and that was exactly what I was trying to do, pay for one hour of transportation versus three. We booked Five Star Limo for our wedding day to shuttle us, our wedding party, and family members between our hotel and the wedding venue in a hummer limo. Everything was great, especially our driver, Alfonso! He was scheduled to be with us from 2pm-11pm but graciously showed up early and stayed on duty a little late. The limo was comfortable and swanky. I loved driving through downtown Charlotte, watching pedestrians staring. I'm sure they were wondering who was inside. Taryn and Ted wedding party coming through! In response to the owners pathetic excuse for poor service, see picture confirmation of THEIR INVOICE showing we requested pick up and drop off of the wedding party and guest from the hotel to the venue (which is .4 miles driving distance). This was clearly never communicated to the driver. I have several emails if needed. You should obviously disregard timelines for catering, pictures, etc. But not ok to disregard the schedule WE DISCUSSED when requesting a quote and confirmed on YOUR INVOICE. Please explain why the driver didn't know the location of the wedding venue? Or why the driver thought he only had to do one pickup/drop off from 4:30pm-12am?? We talked on the phone and sent emails that you used in your invoice. Please don't use an excuse that you didn't feel the need to review our excel timeline (which is ridiculous that you think it's not worth reviewing or asking for when you're hired for an event and not just taking someone to dinner). Take responsibility and quit making excuses for your poor communication to your team and job performance. If you would've at least acknowledged or responded to my email about what happened, no one would've even known about our terrible experience with your company. read more

Great company and very responsive! I booked this limo for my cousin's wedding in NC, I was in NYC and was impressed by how easy it was to do. I was able to book on the site and provide my cc info over the phone. The owner is very responsive, everytime I called - even in the evening - he answered. Also, the responsiveness to email was quick. They were flexible and the driver was excellent. He was where he needed to be when he needed to be there and was friendly, made sure everyone was safe. They were also recommended by another limo company. read more

We had a reservation for this evening that was a rebook for a sweet 16 birthday that was postponed due to Covid... We made arrangements for tonight for the sweet 16, and also 4 other birthdays!!! We had a confirmation number, and our deposit was taken, but when called, they quite rudely told is that they just figured we cancelled... So, if we did cancel, wouldn't we have a cancellation confirmation email and a refund of our deposit... So, after we were rudely told that they just figured we canceled, we are now waiting to get our deposit back, and the birthday celebrations won't be what they were supposed to be... This interaction was terrible, and I will tell everyone I know in the Charlotte market to not use this company... read more

Everything you expect from a place called Five Star Limousine. Arrived perfectly on time. Opened the door every time. Very personable driver who kept the conversation going and was a lot of fun from the beginning of the trip to the end. Our driver was very polite and kind, he made communication very easy and especially appreciated him taking a group picture for us! As far as why I am giving Five Star Limo a 1 star review: The limo was not up to standards. It had trash under the seats when we got in and several areas were sticky. It was pretty apparent it was not as clean as it should have been. We were also told glasses would be provided for us, I had specifically called and asked this during the booking process. No glasses were provided, instead we found 9 solo cups, the limo we rented seats 16-18 people (we had 16 people). To top it off we had a very hard time playing any music! The USB auxiliary connection did not work (we were told this by the limo driver and we tested it), thus using your own cord to play music was not an option! The second auxiliary cord that was prewired into the limo was not working properly. We had to hold it and wiggle it around to keep the music going and the music still cut in and out several time! So overall I was not satisfied with the service. A nice driver is great but we also paid for a clean limo that had functioning accessories and glasses! I will not be using this service again and I would not recommend it. *Update- I was contacted by Five Star in regards to my negative experience. They did apologize and attempted to explain the situation which basically boiled down to overbooking and not giving the driver enough time to clean up from previous customer. The glasses they were suppose to provide for my ride had gotten dirty by the clients before us and they did not have enough time to replace them for our party. They also tried to explain the aux cord situation, which in the end doesn't matter I should have been discounted for not providing what you advertised (which I was not). Basically they ended up offering a "free" limo ride in exchange for the bad experience, which did not end up being free at all. After I agreed to accept what I thought was a generous offer of a free ride I was asked to compensated the driver $20 dollars per hour (he was offering me a 4 hour ride, so $80 bucks). I ended up respectfully declining the offer as I had already paid over $700 dollars for my previous bad experience, I was not about to pay more money to compensate for their mistake. Again the driver was nice but sadly this turned into a case of not caring about your clients experience! This is especially true when you think it is okay to ask me to pay an addition $80 dollars for a service that I was not satisfied with the first time! read more

My friend and I were visiting my cousin in Charlotte, in September and decided to book a wine tour during our stay. I made all the arrangements with Al of Five Star by phone from New York. He got back to me every time I called, answered all e-mail questions, and sent a confirmation outlining all charges and fees. When we arrived in Charlotte I expected to receive a confirmation call the day before, or at least by the morning of the tour. When I did not hear from Al or the driver the morning of the tour, I called, and Al reassured me that the driver was on the way. Shane, our driver arrived shortly after my call, and we started what turned out to be a very lovely day. We visited three wineries for tastings, and also had a very nice lunch in the Bistro at Childress Vineyards. Shane was professional, personable, courteous and fun. We are all great talkers, so there was never a lack of conversation. My friends and I really enjoyed him, and our visit to the different wineries. After I returned to New York, there was an e-mail showing the updated invoice, which I found a little confusing. I contacted Al, who responded immediately. The invoice was right. I overlooked something, and I want to apologize to Al for the annoyance. I would definitely use Five Star if a group of us want to take another wine tour to the areas we did not visit, and would highly recommend this company. We had a good time. No complaints. read more

They have a beautiful choice of vehicles to choose from and Al was excellent in helping to select the perfect one-which in our case was the white Hummer which fit the entire wedding party. We planned a trip to Charlotte for a concert so we scheduled a car to take us to and from the event. Uber or Lyft might be good for some purposes but it the chaos that ensues after a concert, we wanted something more dedicated & personal. The reservation was easy to make (online & confirmed by phone) but on the day before the concert, we learned of a cancellation due to severe weather. We had to cancel our reservation with Five Star...until we learned that the event had been rescheduled 3 days later. We scrambled to get to NC from our home in New Mexico...Five Star made it very easy for us to revive our reservation. Communication with them was good from the beginning. Our driver, Albert, gave us updates and arrived to pick us up exactly on time. He got us into the crowded venue easily and was there right on schedule to pick us up after the concert. He was personable and a very good driver. If business or leisure ever takes us to Charlotte again, we will definitely re-book transportation with this company. read more
