Metro is a small cab company so sometimes you wait awhile and sometimes there on the way immediately. At least you can depend on them more so than a poor mans ride. read more

Apparently this the only real Taxi service in Gastonia and surrounding except Charlotte. They have Taxi cabs, Taxi Vans, Wheel chair Vans with plenty of drivers to drive them according to my driver whilst I was taking Cab to Work. I like that. Also they take time calls. I get off work at 3pm and with a time preset they are their waiting for Me to take home. So now they take me to and from work daily. The price is by the mile with 2.50 start price. I also noticed how professional the driver was. And the world wants robot cars. Anyways I rate this company 5stars. Try them out and you will feel the same way and you will get to your destination on time. read more

On May 8 21019 I rode a Metro Cab from CaroMont health to Stanley. This was to be a dedicated ride but turned into a shared ride to Stanley. The first stop was my house before the cab continued on to downtown Stanley to discharge the other passenger. The driver used the meter and the meter rate was $24.80 to my house. The driver charged me the full amount and evidently charged the other passenger the full amount also. This made a ride to Stanley cost over $49.60. The normal procedure with a shared ride in a cab is to split the fare at each stop. This procedure of double charging is unethical. A call to the Gastonia City clerks office made me understand that there is no regulation of cabs in Gastonia, no fingerprinting, no license verification and no background check required by the city of Gastonia and no necessity permit is required. Using a taxi in Gastonia is strictly at your own risk! The driver involved was Ini Esiet and his driver number is #16. Overall the ride was satisfactory and if driver #16 had not overcharged me I would call Metro Cab again. From now on I will use Uber & Lyft as they are regulated and are more ethical in their practices. read more
