Umm, yeah. Figured out at 11 PM last night that my usual airport taxi had gone out of business. Flight was for 7:45 this morning. So, hat in hand, I called Gilbert right away. Spoke to a human right out of the gate and was very kindly made to feel welcome to call 24/7 after apologizing for the hour and short notice. As the other great reviews indicate, he was early, had driven all the way down my long, steep driveway (many will not), and was quietly waiting for me 15 minutes before my scheduled pickup time. Five minutes later, he texted me, then a few minutes more and he called...wow! Helped me in to an immaculate minivan with my ridiculous luggage and cheerily engaged me in conversation for the whole ride to the airport. I seriously wanted to be friends with him and his family after the ride. Anyway, props to the self-made small business that relies on diligence and hard work. I will definitely be calling him again. I decided at the last minute that I would look for transportation to the airport rather than drive and park my car for a week. After looking online at various companies, I called Gilbert's seeking a quote. Being a day out, I was not expecting this company to be very accommodating, but I was wrong! Gilbert was so very helpful. He gave me a very good rate, double checked my departure and return dates and times and made sure I understood how to contact him should changes be needed while I was away. The next morning he arrived on time for my departure to the airport. My return pick up could not have been smoother. Gilbert texted to confirm my arrival time and was at the departure door within 3-minutes of my call! On both trips we shared wonderful conversations. Gilbert's came through where others failed! His base was across town a bit, and the ride my husband needed was short, so it didn't seem practical. But after nearly 2 hours of no results calling other cab companies, it was getting late and I was desperate. My husband had an important job interview to get to. I was in Miami visiting my kids when I got a travel alert due to Hurricane Florence only several hours before my flight was due to leave for Charlotte then Greensboro, NC. I found Gilberts by googling "land transportation from Charlotte to Greensboro" because the weather in Greensboro was supposed to be severe when I was scheduled to get the second leg of my trip. Gilbert answered the phone around 11:30pm despite the fact that he was in SPAIN!!! He kept in contact with me and found me a wonderful and interesting driver- Abdul- who was on time and extremely accommodating. This was just a wonderful end to what could have been a horrible day. Gilbert was great! Gave me a great quote for a ride to the airport. Too good a price to say no. I texted him the information. Asked for a 7am pickup and he was there at 6:45. Very friendly and very safe driver. He is a local business in the SW/Steele Creek area and operates by word of mouth. Luckily I scrolled far enough down on yelp and found him. He got great reviews and now I know for myself why. Don't need a ride home when I return but if I do he said to text him the information and he would be there to get me home. Gilbert is the best. He did a complicated pick up at the airport for me. A friend was arriving and i needed someone reliable and dependable to pick her up and drive her to my house in South Charlotte. Gilbert was there promptly, even though the flight was 1/2 hour early. He was in touch with my friend and she was very pleased with her part as a passenger. He was totally cooperative and understanding of what needed to be done. I am an employee at the Clarion Hotel in Fort Mill SC. I work right across the road from Carowinds so you know it's BUSY. I always recommend Gibert's Transportation to our guest at the Clarion! Anytime that I call....early in the morning or late at night he is always here at least 15 mins before he has to pick the customer up. His cabs are always clean and he will always have a smile on his face. The families love the $20 round trip package to carowinds from our hotel. Great customer care and awesome service!! I live out of state and needed a dependable ride to the Charlotte Amtrak train station for my brother so he could come to a family gathering. After reading the reviews for the other cab services in Charlotte I decided to try Gilbert Transportation. What a nice guy. Even though my brother's pickup location was out of his regular driving area, we settled on a price and he agreed to pick him up at 5:30 am to get him to station. The woman who picked my brother up was on time and very courteous. Great experience! Many days I lament that there is little customer service to be found these days. Gilbert has it. Use his company. I checked out a few places in the Charlotte NC area... I decided on Gilbert's Transportation for my trip and I know I certainly made the right decision. We left from NC and drove to Canada with a side stop on the way and it was fabulous. My highest praise I can give this company was that I was able to sleep on the drive, that was the first time in my life I was comfortable enough with a driver to sleep. We had laughs along the way and good conversation. I can't thank Gilbert and Sylvia enough. I can't think of anything negative to say. If I could give higher stars I would. Gilbert was professional and provided outstanding customer service. We had a last minute need for transportation to the airport and placed a call for a reservation at 9pm the evening before. Booked roundtrip for airport from Rock Hill, Saturday am pickup and return the following Saturday pm. Gilbert arrived early for both trips, loaded our luggage and was very pleasant to speak with. Paid attention to the details of our needs, and provided advice for best pickup option on return. Our return flight was actually early arriving, but he was already waiting for us. This limo service was great. Gilbert arrived early to pick me up at home and got me to the airport in plenty of time. He was not personally available to pick me up when I returned, but made arrangements with another driver. When my plane was delayed 1.5 hours, that driver made arrangements for yet another driver to come.
