I was told that it would be a teardown and rebuild of the 2 solar panels. In fact, when the 2 guys got here it only took them about 20 minutes to disconnect the 2 end panels and put them on the ground. After the roof was repaired, they came back and put them back in place and reconnected them. This took another 20 min. The right thing for Great Basin Solar to have done would be to adjust the cost do to the limited amount of time the job really took to complete. I will say that the 2 guys who did the work were great and easy to work with. The cost of this simple job cost me about 5% of the total amount I paid for the whole solar system. I would not recommend Great Basin Solar.

Travis faked his way along, until I paid him for the design and permitting phase. Then he ran off, ignored our project, and failed to complete the required HOA permits, failed to complete the solar system design, and failed to apply for County building permits. A real scoundrel, not to be trusted. We filed detailed complaints with the Nevada State Contractors Board, Better Business Bureau, and his Bonding company. All of whom said we need to sue him in court. Warning: when his lips are moving, you know he's telling false stories. Same for his slime-covered attorney. A nasty company.

I really liked them when you are working with them and installing. After having them for sometime…read more You realize how young and naive you were once. As I never realized or thought to hire an electrician to ensure everything is OK. Now we are here and out of warranty for bad installation. It cost a pretty penny to make sure the house is going to be safe. The solar electrician we worked with asked why we went to them. Rather than the company that installed our solar. Long story short. They dont have the talent to support. Took a few months of back and forth to get no where. Its a bit disappointing. Sales team are so good to make things look like it was so worth it. Either way. The people are good. For when we worked with them, they had good ratings. Next time, I'll do better res w arch for companies if I proceed to move towards sustainability again. I was hoping it would be a good relation for the long term. We still have them. As the solar panels are awesome. Just sad to know that they didnt really have the appropriate talent or knowledge to ensure they were following best practicing for the electrical aspect. The most important side. So FYI they did installations through a third party and they are G3 solar. Reno Solar is just a sales company with members who probably know nothing g about the installation process. They have been in comms with us. Just overall I give them a 0 for safety. 3 for friendliness. 2 for knowledge. I would rate them lower on yelp, but I did like how they worked with us for the install, prep, and attempt to navigate the wiring concerns that a non solar electrician saw. He wasn't even an expert on solar. He even noticed. Either way. If you want solar. I suggest you go to a different company who has trusted members within the solar installation process and properly skilled electrical members.

My system was installed quickly and efficiently with absolutely no hiccups. Wanted battery back up so I left a message for Jory and got crickets. Oh well, there's lots of other companies out there. You can tell by the conduit bends that they really take pride in their work, making the install look appeasing and your home. Sean also did some small projects around my home too, including the installation of some exterior Ring cameras that were on the second floor, and I hate climbing heights. We were without consistent power other than a portable generator for over 30 days when our batteries, inverter and generator failed. That's when we learned of Shawn and his team. Aspen successfully converted our solar system in the middle of a horrid January, 2023 to a Fortress lithium battery system. Later that year, they installed a new Solark inverter system. On 3/6/25, we lost all power with an alarm on the Solark inverter. i contacted Shawn who put me in touch with his incredible employee, Vince who called within an hour to help troubleshoot the system. He asked me questions to understand the situation and said he would be out to assess and hopefully repair, 3/7/25. Vince arrived and within minutes diagnosed the issue and made the necessary repairs. He even allowed me to video a tutorial on what to do if we are ever faced with a failure again. Before I retired I was in the customer service business for over 40 years and have to say I have never met a vendor and team who cares about their customers in the way that Aspen Electric! Living completely off grid has its challenges, but I rest easier knowing I can count on Shawn, Vince and the other members of the Aspen Electric team! Maree Elana

We started our renovation 4 years ago. Our house was about 40 years old when we purchased it. This…read morehouse has not been taken care of since being built. I am not as emotional about what happened anymore. After all it is just a house, our HOME we love and just a lot of money that we are working hard for... But I would like to share our experience with other people and hopefully help them to avoid the mistake we have made. Here is a summary of facts to make a long story short... My biggest mistake was to think that the roof should be done last after we had to: * Change all windows in the house, * Fix the rotten foundation, * Do all carpenter's work that was very much needed, * Install rain gutters, * Paint the house And then * Put the roof on, almost like a crown on the princess.... Another reason, I had thought, if the roof was done last, painters and window installers will not walk on the brand new roof and will not damage it... Guess what?! After all the hard work had been done and over $50,000 spent for outside renovation, we finally invited the well-known Peterson Dean roofing company to: * Splash tar all over freshly painted walls, just installed expensive windows and a $500 each new screen door! * Make deep scratches on multiple brand new windows and new screen doors with items falling from the roof! * Bend with the ladders and somehow puncture newly installed metal rain gutters! * Re-roof at first low level and then drag super heavy boxes with nails and shingles on freshly installed roof to work on the SECOND LEVEL!! (Total Crash for my idea to avoid extra walking by painters and window installers) * "Sprinkle" hundreds of dangerous sharp nails all over our property. When we tried to contact Customer Service to stop this abuse and absurd conduct we got only an answering system and calls were not being returned. In addition, Petersen Dean to save money sent only ONE WORKER to do the entire roofing job! And that worker could not speak English!! Not even a little. We have addressed to him our huge concerns about the damages he's making and received no consideration but a lot of attitude! He pretended not to be able to understand. We should have sent him away until they contacted us. One more fact. Our neighbor across the street hired them as well. So they "forgot" to re-roof one big section of the roof and never returned to finish it. It was a huge mistake to hire Petersen Dean to replace our roof! We are NOT recommending this company. Stressful and disappointing. Waste of money!

Unfortunately I didn't know that they failed to put roofing material on my lean to shed attached to the house, like I was promised. All that was done was black tar paper, no shingles.
