After a bit, a worker came to collect cash from parking customers. Why didn't they foresee that in the beginning? Perhaps the museum & this company don't talk to each other. I have been parking there on and off for years. periodically for many years. It takes you very close to many of the restaurants in the Gaslamp. The price changes depending on the events downtown, but, if it is quieter time, you can park all evening for $5. Most recently, I parked there for a Yelp event. I parked there knowing that we could be parked for several hours for only $5. It was really convenient, just a few blocks away for the venue. You use your credit card to get both in and out. On one hand, it feels a bit intrusive to use your card that way, but, on the other hand, it takes away the chance that you might lose your ticket resulting in paying more. I did find it a bit littered when I was there, which was surprising, as it wasn't a very busy evening. However, I would still continue to park there to get parking for reasonable prices.

We purchased our parking ticket over a month in advance. Upon arrival, we were told they regularly oversell parking spaces and there was no room available to park. They refer you to neighboring lots, but those lots were also full and the traffic is so locked up you just sit for long periods of time burning up your entire gas tank. As a result of the mess, we missed the first half hour of our show at the Shell. On the first pass, the driveway was blocked off and an employee waved us off, yelled follow that car (in front of us), and just walked away, refusing to explain the situation to us. We thought we were at the wrong entrance. Because of the large crowds for both Petco and the Shell that night, the traffic was excessive and parking was full at most lots. DO NOT assume because you purchased a parking space you will be able to use it! Also, do not expect a refund on site. They refer you to their website. Ace parking has no care for keeping their word and contractual obligation for paid spaces. They should be shut down. They actually sell spaces they have no intention of providing. You'll pay by card only and some places here can help validate your ticket. They had decent amount of parking spaces and it's wide enough to open your door especially if you have a baby in a car seat with you. If you have a big, wide truck then it might be an issue. We didn't stay here long and since I got a drink from a store here, they validated my parking pass which I saved a decent amount instead of paying full price.

I live right next to this establishment. And let me tell you, the view from my bedroom window down into this lot, is for PRIME people watching. Now, being that I live downtown, I understand the importance of being quite when I leave places if it's past 11pm. Some people go to bed at reasonable times, and I don't want to interrupt their deep sleep. For me on the other hand, I don't mind the noise all that much. It's not keeping me from sleeping, because I usually get the majority of my work, done from the hours of 11pm to 4am, so I'm up anyways. But I feel that this parking lot, brings out the worst of downtown. Some of my neighbors don't take the noise so lightly. A few weeks ago, around 3am a lady yelled down to ask a group of men to be a little quieter, and how did they respond? They threw a huge rock straight into her window. It's gotten to the point, where I am down for a little sling shot through the window, or water balloons from the roof. I don't mind the kids hanging out in the lot, but when it's 2am and you got two gold cars with butterfly doors, bumping "stanky leg" for half hour straight while ghost riding the whip, (not an exaggeration) something has to be done, right?

We made a reservation online, used the discount code and scanned the QR code to get into the parking garage. I have noticed cheaper options in parking but WallyPark does offer rewards points for previous reservations so I'll consider that first. I'd recommend downloading their app so you can get to your reservation QR code easier for getting into/out of their garage. Also, the app shows where their shuttle is so when we waited to get picked up around 4pm on a Sunday (which seemed long btw), I could see where the shuttle was. They first went to the Terminal 1 and then by the time they came to Terminal 2, it was almost full so some people had to wait longer for the next shuttle. I'd suggest for them to have 2 going at all times to catch the stragglers.

Overall, I thought it was a legit parking garage. I dropped if the car on Friday morning and picked it up on Sunday afternoon. I paid about $57 for the entire weekend and they gave me some type of discount promo for being a first-time customer. It was the cheapest spot I found that was close to the freeway. I didn't want my in-laws to struggle to get to us. I just wanted to choose a quick pick up spot to hit the road. Do I recommend this spot? It seems safe if you ever in search of a legit parking garage in San Diego.
