They call "Five Star Sports" for a reason! This has always been my favorite store to purchase my Brooks Ghost's! Every time I visit from Hawaii I come buy a new pair here! Came in to drop off a package to be picked up by UPS since this is a certified drop off location. I handed the package off and there were TWO guys who took it in the front. The item I was sending was for a return (valued at $140). After a few weeks I checked on the tracking and saw that the package wasn't even scanned in when I dropped it off. I called in and spoke to a worker and told him the whole scenario and gave him my info to hand off to the manager. At the end he said that I would need to call back to speak to the manager because the manager has a lot of things to do. He did not seem concerned about my situation in any way, nor did it seem like he felt like it was a priority to the store and manager to resolve a case which they are involved in since apparently they didn't even do their job which is the first step of the shipping process. I called back and spoke to the manager who seemed a little more concerned. However, he didn't seem to feel like it was in any way the store's responsibility. I was told repeatedly that the item should have been picked up by UPS regardless...which seems odd because if it was then it should have been scanned in one way or another. Never did the store take any responsibility for losing my package, when they never did their first step of scanning in my package. At the end I was down $140, all because "5 Star" (ironic because I definitely would not rate their service as 5 stars) could not do their job. I understand they are a 3rd party, but if you're going to be a drop off location you need to accept some sort of responsibility for your actions. Best place in Corvallis for sports shoes. The staff is knowledgeable about shoes AND feet, and can guide you to what is best for you. They carry excellent shoes, and can order special ones if necessary. Our children were runners, and they bought all their shoes at Five Star Sports, and my wife and I have also been buying from them for decades. A real Corvallis gem!!! read more

Customer service here is awesome, they'll get you fit into what you need. Super knowledgeable about products and getting you into something that'll be comfortable and tailored to your usage. They went out of their way to get me the right shoe when I got a pair that I just didn't like after enjoying them initially. Can't recommend them enough. Especially as someone pretty limited in their knowledge of running, I appreciate there's no attitude or snobbery here at all, just friendly people standing behind their product. This place is great. The service was fantastic; they watched me walk around and even run in the shoes. I didn't know I was wearing a whole size too small, but they figured that out and got me in shoes that fit much better! I've had knee pain, but once I tried on the shoes they recommended it felt way better. Highly recommend. One note, as of October 24, 2015, Yelp's map has this located on the wrong side of 2nd street; they're actually on the northwest corner of madison and 2nd. I was able to try on many pairs of shoes, have my running assessed, and they listened to my list of preferences and problems very patiently.
