if I could give 0 stars I would. if recently moved to Pennsylvania and i have a autistic child that is nonverbal and he don't understand the meaning of wait or sit down or any little command specially coming from a stranger. first let me start by saying that my son loves water and as a mother i though this school would be the best for him because ever since i spoke on the phone with them i told them my child is on the spectrum that's ok, she told me yes that's totally okay we have special people for kids like him ,i said great so we schedule a free try out for Thursday at 4 pm. today Thursday I arrived a hour early so that i can see the place and talk to them about pricing, well i felt great with the place and everyone looked friendly before i went for my son at school i explain to them how inpatient he was and how he is and she still said don't worry.so with all my confidence i got my son and like around 3:40 i head in with him changed him into his swim suit and told him he was going in the pool .to make the story short the time for him to go in the water come and i told the instructor hi he is nonverbal she said okay and then tells the life guard he is nonverbal i guess it was for him to be more aware of him. everything was fine until the instructor was asking him to sit on the bench because the pool was too deep for him to be standing, he won't sit i told her she said i need him to sit so i could also show the other boy that was there with her. We were having a hard time sitting him down and then the manager KAITLIN G comes and said to me and my son " you need to sit Hun if not you won't get a class, i turned and told her i explained how he was, and you know. she said i know but he need to seat or he can't take the class. I I'm already unconfutable in front of all this people and my son is crying because I'm trying to get him out the pool i pulled him to seat for a few second and i hear the manager on the back saying maybe that shows him he have to seat and said to him in a firm tone seat! i grabbed my son and walked out of there in tears said absolutely nothing to them. how do you welcome a child in the spectrum if you not even train well to deal with kids like this i don't recommend this place to any mom out there with a child in the spectrum my son will remember this day for ever. read more

My son recently started going here for private lessons just as they opened. The facilities are brand new and the pool is a heated salt water pool which is great for the little ones as it is less hard on the skin. His instructor is Stephanie and she is amazing. She has the perfect personality for our son and we couldn't have picked a better teacher. The only negative to this place is strip mall it is located in as it is pretty run down, but on the bright side there is plenty of parking and there is a Dunkin Donuts in the parking lot. As for cost it is a little on the expensive side for private lessons and is more than what we payed in NYC, but it is worth the extra cost to make sure he is safe in the water. I would definitely recommend sending your child here for swim lessons based on my experience. read more

Cannot possibly say how much love Five Star! My daughter attends sessions once a week for less than one year and went from being afraid to get her face wet, to swimming across the pool unassisted! Their staff is so knowledgeable and great with kids, even those who do not like to sit still for long. Alyssa and Haley have been our absolute favorite instructors thus far, both incredibly talented swimmers and that carries into their instruction. The facility is clean, the locker room has nice space to store your belongings (if needed). Two showers, two private bathrooms, hair dryers and lots of space to get changed. My daughter absolutely loves coming to swim, I'm so happy to have found a place like Five Star. If you are even considering it, just go! Do the trial lesson and I'm sure you will fall in love with this place just like we did. read more

Five Star Swim School has DEFINITELY earned their name! From their skilled instructors to the clean environment and 90 degree pool, I have nothing but good things to say about them! My youngest son has been going here since May of this year, so almost 6 months! He began before the age of 2, with a great fear of being in the water without holding on for dear life. Since then, he has become our own little minnow! He has been working with Daysia in private lessons, and I can say that EVERY. SINGLE. PENNY. we have paid has been worth it! He is now jumping in by himself and has so much confidence! Plus, he has so much fun! Our 4 year old son began a bit later, due to scheduling conflicts, but he has gone from nervously sitting on the stairs to swimming under water and jumping in, unassisted, in less than 4 months! We are thrilled with his progress and he is SO excited to go to swim lessons every week! He brags about his teachers and all his new skills every chance he gets! Every instructor has been great and super patient (watching Alyssa work with a bunch of 3 and 4 year olds has convinced me she is a saint)! We walk in and feel welcomed from the word "GO!" and my youngest has decided that he pretty much runs the place! He loves all the staff, and gets so excited to see (and hug) the manager, Heather! If you are thinking about swim lessons here, stop thinking about it and DO IT! You will not regret it! Any place that my children can learn lifesaving skills WHILE having a great time and gaining confidence gets FIVE STARS in my book!!! read more

I love the facilities and the kindness of the personnel. Its a bit expensive for lessons and not include open swim without an additional entrance fee each time.The parties there are fabulous. The young lifeguard crew can be a bit lackadaisical. That would be my only complaint. They have lots of cool parents nught out opportunities is fantastic! In my opinion the instructors need to be a little more upbeat and kid friendly. They seem less than thrilled to be there. Not worth the money. I'd rather do it myself. They just go through the motions week after week. No room for advancement or improvement. Just something to pass 30 min once a week. I can think of way more challenging activities to do. read more

I would not recommend taking swim lessons here the instructors for small children are very rude and miserable towards the children. They are on week 6 and still haven't learned anything new since week 1. Very over priced for their services and classes only being a half hour when they spend most of the time trying to get babies to get used to the water rather than teaching the other kids ready to learn read more

Our child attended lessons at Five Star Swim School. The pool is warm and very clean, as well as the changing rooms. The lessons on the other hand, were very disappointing. The cost was high, but they promised individualized instruction. Each class was exactly the same. They didn't let our child swim on his own, when he was able to do that. They didn't challenge him to swim better, or longer distances. The open swim was nice, but very expensive. The enrolled child even had to pay for the open swim. I wouldn't recommend these lessons. read more
