Thornton Youth Basketball association, was previously known as Thornton Developmental Basketball…read moreLeague. The organization changed hands over the last year and renamed itself. My son played in Spring 2018, and was on the championship team for his age group. The coach for our team (Aaron) is now the president of the league. Aaron took our money for pictures and never provided them to us, after many texts, and attempts at phone calls. My son's mom and I both reached out repeatedly, to be told "I'm on travel and have been very busy, I'll get back to you next week." After a half dozen attempts to get my pictures by me and many attempts by my son's mom, I emailed the then-President of the league, Adrian to attempt to get support. He told me that he was given excuse after excuse by Aaron and he would just re-order the pictures. I contacted him multiple times and he told me again that he would re-order the pictures and would get back with me. Adrian never responded after the last few attempts. There is at least one other parent that was on our team that had the same lack of accountability from Aaron and Adrian. I am extremely disappointed in this. Not only did my son never get the trophy that he earned as being part of this team, but we and other parents never received pictures which we paid for. This is fraud, plain and simple. This is what you can expect from Aaron and Adrian. Good luck if you choose to join this deceitful league.

This league is a sad story. Aaron is head of the league and a coach of a team. He cheats, yells…read moreat his team (K-2nd) and wins at all costs. There's lots of people in cahoots managing the team and the refereeing to make sure a certain team wins. Aaron has even made calls as a coach, and the referees make a call based on what he says. Referees are also reffing games where their own kids are playing on Aaron's team. Stay away. It's not about the kids in this league.

The rec center was recently renovated. The indoor track is twice the size, cardio and weight…read moremachines were replaced and added, new weight room, etc. A few things - 1) group classes should not be scheduled in both rooms at the same time. When this happens the weight room gets very crowded. 2) what's the deal with the thermostat in the new track area? Why is it so hard to regulate? It is almost always blowing WARM air and it's 90 outside! Staff says "they're working on it." Employees here are very helpful and enforce the rules. I wish the rec had an infrared sauna, massage chairs, cold plunge.

We had a pickleball tournament schedule for this day…read more Tournament scheduled for 8a. Did not start on time. Coordinator wasn't ready. Having entry issues and program issues. 8a meant start time. Late players were allowed to play. Late is late and should not be able to play. No tournament board for players to follow. Coordinator used a computer and had to yell to the group, who was playing and where. Play on court 3 was dark. Construction had lights off. Ball hard to see! The coordinator mentioned that the next tournament for January, there would be 2 categories. Intermediate and advanced for more competitive play. Someone suggested a beginner and intermediate. Pickleball has a system that categorizes a player. Maybe that should be considered for the next tournament. Post the levels in the gym for players to know their progression. https://sl.bing.net/eTsBcH1XbMG
