My wife, myself, and our 6-month baby were swimming laps (yes, laps in an infant flotation device)…read morein the lap pool lane when the lifeguard asked us to leave it for someone who 'actually wants to swim laps.' We explained that we are also swimming laps and we don't understand why we need to leave the lane for someone else who wants to do the same. The lifeguard told us the ~50 y/o man was rude to her, so she felt pressured to do so. We settled on splitting the lap pool into two sides (even though we are literally 3 people and he is 1). The guy didn't like that very much and he stood against the wall at one end of the pool for a while looking upset. When we swam to the end of the pool he was on, he forcefully splashed down into the water to send it into my baby son's face and made him gasp for breath and start crying. A male lifeguard witnessed this and went for help. When the manager arrived, she insisted that we leave the lane and when we refused, she asked that we instead continue 'sharing' the lap pool lane with the guy who assaulted our child. The best part is the first time we wanted to go swimming in Broomfield, we arrived at the other facility that has strictly lap pools and therapy pools and they suggested WE GO ELSEWHERE because it's NOT FOR BABIES. Ok then why does the 50 y/o creep get to come to the kids pool and demand we exit the lane? Thanks for being just another place in Colorado that hates babies. We are disgusted by the manager response. If you have an issue here, dial 911, cause no one is going to help you. Even when you go to a place built for children, they will act like they're worthless and an inconvenience to others. Review your policies.

Decades ago my younger son took gymnastic classes there. My husband has used their pool for Scuba trip prep swims to test out their equipment. Also my kids and many of their friends had birthday party events there in the 80s. A friend of mine invited me to stop in and try out their fitness classes for seniors. The program is free to us, though most of the participants have some form of support from their medicare supplement policy (Silver Sneakers membership) and I assume that benefit supports the program financially. Nothing is ever "free" in the sense that it is just like being out in nature. There is a large building and many staff to support. All the staff we met in the process of signing up and get information on programs were very pleasant, efficient and supportive. The teacher of the class was a very positive and talented young woman who clearly understood her participants very well. The music was such fun. Some was the a similar play list to what I had in classes in the late 80s & early 90s, when I last took an indoor fitness program at other locations under the Jazzercize label. Many disco dance songs, new in that era, retro classics now. Also some pop songs of the 60s for some of us and cool down relaxing folk and ballads focus too. I was surprised yet pleased to hear Joan Baez "Diamonds and Rust" unique to a class like this I think. Parking is a bit complicated at the center, as the lot out front has very small spaces and is filled quite early in the day, but there is more room along the sides with slightly larger spaces and now that we know that, we will try there first next week.

My two year old son's teeth were chattering and his lips turned blue within 5 minutes of swimming there. I asked a life guard if there might be something wrong and when she checked she said it was 81 degrees, which was only 2 degrees colder than what they usually keep it at. 83 degrees is 15 degrees colder than normal body temp. This is WAY too cold for little ones. I later heard that they have a hard time keeping the water warm. If this is the truth, it would have been nice to hear up front. Next we went to warm up in the hot tub. Apparently they only allow 15 or so people at a time, which I have no problem with, but as I approached the hot tub, the head life guard, a young boy, held his hand up at me with a stern look and shook his head. I had no idea what he was shaking his head at and felt very unwelcome. I had only just come through the door and was still far off from climbing in. It seemed as though he was reprimanding me before greeting me and sharing the rules with me. Very shortly after I began to understand what was going on, three people exited the hot tub. He looked at me with a grimace and said, "you're lucky". I understand that young people who are given responsibility and power are just learning to find themselves and their way in it. I don't blame this young man for his misunderstanding of how to enforce rules in a kind way. But I do blame the adults who run this facility for not mentoring him better. I left shortly after that. When I arrived home I found I had left my toiletries bag in the shower. When I called to see if they had it the next day I was told over the phone that they "usually throw these kinds of things out". When I asked him to let me know if it was there or not he said he was not permitted to tell me over the phone. I said, I have a two year old and I really don't want to drive across town, just to find out it's not there. Would you please tell me if you have it in the lost and found? He said, "no". I drove across town that day with my son in tow. When I got there they did not have my toiletries bag, which was a nice plastic water proof zipper bag with shampoo, conditioner, deodorant and soap. Why on earth would you throw such a thing out instead of keeping it for a day in the lost and found? I simply could not believe how disappointing and unkind this whole experience was. I had to write a yelp review. There really isn't much more I can do except warn people away.

We have been traveling for years during the winter to The Oasis. It has always been a pleasure, and…read morethe staff has consistently demonstrated professionalism. However, we recently learned a valuable lesson regarding their protocol on outside drinks. We coordinated a group to take a day off work and spend the afternoon at their facility. To make it worthwhile, we needed another player and managed to solidify a last-minute invite. The court was rented for 3 hours, and about 1.5 hours in, the extra invite pulled a drink out of his bag right in front of the staff. He was confronted and agreed to leave without any resistance, acknowledging that his actions were uncalled for. To me, it seemed like the situation was resolved as our group began organizing the next match. However, moments later, the staff decided to escalate the issue, stating that since the player who violated the facility rules was on our court, everyone in our group had to leave the premises. The staff member also blamed us for not policing our invitees according to their rules and regulations. No one in our group knew the player had the drink until he pulled it out, yet we were all penalized, and the rental cost for the court was kept. The only reason I am leaving this post is to make others aware of The Oasis's protocol for such situations. If you invite anyone to play on the court you rented, you will be held personally responsible for their actions against The Oasis's rules and regulations.

I think they have a daycare center with the outdoor play area which is nice. They have bike racks for your bike. Bus stop in the back next door to Main Street and a nice big town park. My son ran in before practice at the park next-door to use the restroom and the front desk said we had to pay so I had to pay for my son to use the restroom. I thought that was definitely upsetting considering the fact that were residence and long time customers. I called Longmont Public Safety chief, Mike Butler, concerning this issue, and he wasn't helpful AT ALL. I told him my dog doesn't like to squat when she pees--she likes to lift her leg, and I needed to know that she is free to pee at the fire hydrant of her choice, without fear of discrimination. Mr. Butler said that as far as he knew, Longmont TREES were transgender, so what was the problem? Mr. Butler didn't give a rip about equal rights for dogs to use the fire hydrant of their choice, regardless of gender identity.

On my walk down I passed some old and well kept green spaces of old campus areas. It was a brutally hot day in the 90s so walking this route was the easiest. Lot of lush green spaces this year since we have had such a wet summer. When the hotel gets open and I have a chance to try the eatery that will be open to the community as well as campus, I will give my full review. But this conference center hotel is something CU has been lacking for a long time. And it will be an asset when Sundance comes to Boulder in 2027!

As a youth athletic organization, it is the gyms responsibility and expectation to provide an…read moreenvironment that supports and protects their athletes. Prior to the abrupt decision to fire an amazing coach mid- season, 2 weeks before state, my son would come home saying the owners are so mean to the boys. Boys would get in trouble for eating and wearing shoes in the gym while the girls would not get in trouble. The girls would steal mats without asking and run across the vault runway while they were training, to name a few. But, somehow the boys were always at fault. The coaches produced the best boys team in the state over the last couple years and they were never recognized. My son says the trophies and banners they won were put in a corner to collect dust And not showcased. Following the dismissal of the boys head coach and the loss of the other who didn't agree, the high level athletes were not given a safe transition to train there nor did they participate in finding a safe alternative elsewhere. This has forced some to quit and others scrambling to find a place to train til the end of season at the least. The owners did not want to discuss what had happened nor did they apologize for the emotional harm they have caused to my child and our family nor the 20+ others that trusted the gym to advocate for the kids. i have never interacted with the owners for our short time there. I was rarely spectating either. However when i went to pick up my son's belongings, I was being harassed for trespassing and that they were going to call the cops. All I wanted was what belonged to my son, but they threw what was in my Sons locker and all the others boys belongings in a box. It's pretty difficult to distinguish who's was what. Frustrated I left with nothing, worried I'd be accused of stealing Or worse. I would avoid this gym at all cost. It is a dangerous place for a high risk sport Without the appropriate skilled coaching required, no exceptions. There are so many other options in the area!!! Safety and Professionalism comes 1st, our kids deserve it!
