This is a good store to shop on bad hair days…read more A plethora of products to tame the hair line the shelves. Today I came here through the rain and found what I was looking for. A few employees provided suggestions on products suitable for my hair type. Most employees were wearing masks, the interior was clean, and a plastic barrier protected the cashier from the shopper. COVID-19 safety protocols were definitely in place. However, some products were so grossly overpriced that I recommend comparison shopping. See the video below, which captures prices of some of the Cetaphil moisturizers. It was refreshing to hear some gospel music playing in the background. "Road is Rough" by Sandra Brooks (yes, I Shazam'd it!) was the song playing over the loudspeaker as I was taking a video. The minus one star is due to the price gouging.

The staff is incredibly helpful and I always end up finding exactly what I'm looking for or am recommended a 2nd option if not. I can't complain about prices as beauty store to beauty store you'll find that certain items are priced differently. The only thing I'd complain about is parking. Depending on the time you go, you'll have to deal with parking blocks away since all spots are occupied by Long Island Rail Road riders that park their cars near-by for the day. I'd suggest weekends if possible. ;)

The problem is the customer service! they are rude, disrespectful and incredibly insensitive to customers. they actually treat you like you need them. You either get rude employees or employees that speak zero English and only Chinese or Mandarin. This is a neighborhood mom and pop $.99 store that is still fairly new and people in Howard Beach try to always support mom and pop establishments. Last week 2 women from the neighborhood came in to go shopping. a Chinese lady working there looked at one of the women who she recognized and said "Wow your face got so fat what happened, lol" Well what had happened was the woman has Cancer and her body is swollen from the medication. When they were kind enough to tell the Chinese lady what was wrong with her and why she had gained weight, her reply was "oh well, the older you get the harder that weight will be to lose" Are you kidding me! I went in looking for toothpaste the guy behind the counter had no clue what I was saying and the other guy just out loud answered no!, I'm assuming meaning no we don't have I was looking for. When I asked him where the items were that were similar he pointed down some aisle and walked away like he really couldn't be bothered. Which is greatly helpful for those that frequented Cedarhurst Paper across the street (the party-place that closed). I ALWAYS find some really pretty or unusual holiday items here too. Much better than the dollar store that used to be just off of 157th and Crossbay. I have also found some unusual things here at a really good deal - like these stacking containers I use for jewelry making. They were almost double the price on Amazon. That says something to me! From brooms to laundry baskets, from video game cables to tools, from party supplies to pet toys and beds, from ornaments to rugs, etc. They offer a bit of everything. Plus they always seem to have the odd hardware item I am looking for and can not find anywhere else. Definitely check this place out!

I went to this store,12/26/25, they are the only ones who sell the perfume I use to buy from Avon,…read morewhich is discontinued from Avon, the first red flag should have been when the cashier brought the perfume to the counter she opened and smelled it, I did have a strange look on my face when she did that,however proceeded with my purchase , went to tap and pay, couldn't tap and pay so had to swipe the card, so the DISHONEST cashier had the credit card machine in her hand, and proceeded to swipe the card, im looking the whole time the DISHONEST cashier said,oh no there's nothing on the car, but the next screen had already popped up saying debit. or credit lucky I was fast enough before she was able to move her hand to press credit, and the purchase went through, so I'm wondering HOW MANY others did she do that too, so when I got home,I tried calling back to speak to the owner for her to answer the phone, to say no English, tried calling 3 different times, so sad that you can't go in a store without the CASHIER trying to rip you off
