Around 14-months ago, I met Jennifer at Five Virtues. I was at the end of the road (including my wife) and Jennifer improved and probably saved my life.
I ended up turning to Acupuncture as a last resort. I was a non-believer; thought of it as taboo. Why would I ever consider going against doctors' orders? That was not how I was brought up. However, I wish I went there from the beginning.
You see, I was suffering from a chronic pain condition that no doctor could pinpoint. Originally I was diagnosed with pancreatitis, then had my gallbladder removed, countless procedures requiring probing, cutting bile ducts, enlarging ducts, etc., all of which were unsuccessful and continued causing me pain and issues. I visited world renowned hospitals and no one could help reduce or eliminate the pain. This went on a full year.
I went in and out of hospitals (over 35+days), not including the outpatient procedures and doctor visits. My medical bills exceeded $400,000. I ended up paying roughly $20,000 personally as my insurance company did not cover everything. I lost over 25% of my body weight just because of the pain and loss of appetite. I looked like a skeleton and I truly felt like I was dying. I was so drugged up over the year that I became immune to the narcotics the doctors fed me. I was taking over 20+pills a day.
My breaking point was the last procedure held at a leading university hospital, when the doctors recommended that I visit Johns Hopkins Hospital (the top hospital in the country). I ended up walking out in disgust. By chance, my wife came across an Acupuncture place online that just opened on Bainbridge Street in Philadelphia. Both of us agreed to give Acupuncture a shot. Like I said, I was at the end of the road and felt like death.
After two visits, I finally started feeling relief. I was sold. After three months of treatments, herbs, and sticking to Jennifer's advice, I was completely prescription free. September 2012 was the last time I have ever taken a prescribed or over the counter pill. I am a firm believer in Acupuncture and Jennifer's pulse diagnosis. I am beyond grateful. I continue to recommend her to family and friends. I believe I will remain a patient for life.
