Extremely Disappointed - Feels Like a Scam I hired a seller named Emily on Fiverr for a marketing gig to promote my book. She claimed to have over 200k in her audience reach via social media. However, once I received the finished file, I immediately noticed that her "audience" was completely made up of bots. There was zero real engagement or value, and the work was not as promised. I asked for a cancellation right away. She refused. I asked again--no response. When I called her unprofessional (which she was), she accused me of calling her names and again denied the cancellation. Since then, she hasn't responded at all. I also reached out to Fiverr customer service and spoke with Megha and Alaya. Unfortunately, they were no help either. They barely replied, then completely stopped responding. According to Fiverr's terms and conditions, I am eligible for a credit, yet Emily claimed I wasn't--which is false. Her behavior has been dishonest and misleading. At this point, I'm planning to file a complaint with the Attorney General's office so they can investigate possible fraud happening through this platform. All I did was message people for a quote (It's a plastic part needed for a small device). I signed up again using my Facebook account thinking that they thought my original email signup account was spam. Same thing happened. I have placed over 600 orders with Fiverr. Last month, I received a custom offer from a seller and attempted to purchase. An internal error in fiverr's system caused me to me charged 13 times for this single transaction. Instead of $111, I was charged almost $1,500. I understand that accidents happen and if Fiverr would just give me my money back, I would remain a happy customer. That is not the case. It's been weeks and they just say they are looking into it or sending it to a different team to review. They have acknowledged that there are 13 transactions Instead of one. However the next day I receive a message stating I haven't been approved and wont be allowed to sell services on Fiverr. I contacted customer service and was given a ticket number. They pretty much restated what was on the denial message I receive but did offer an appeal to try and overturn the decision. After days of messaging to receive the appeal process information, I am still being ignored by the service team. If you are looking for a freelancer to do a basic job online definitely try Fiverr. Fiverr is an Israel based platform connecting freelancers with clients. You can hire someone to create business cards, logos, retouch photos, fix glitches on websites, create explainer videos and so on. Fiverr is specialized in low cost services. You shouldn't expect to immediately find people who can deal with serious tasks. I'm sure there are many on the platform but, honestly, Fiverr is for people who can't (or don't want to) spend much. If you need a very specific and complicated job to be done, Fiverr is probably not the best place to go with. My advice - try to find a solution on Fiverr, then if you can't - go elsewhere. Chances are you will get what you want 5 times cheaper than you expected. Customers pay Fiverr a 2$ fee per order and sellers pay 20% of their income on the platform. If you are not satisfied with the work done you have an option to accept the delivery. The payment you made will be credited back to your account. I did this only once with a guy who tried to do a job not knowing what he was doing. ATTENTION: you need to reject the delivery within the given timeframe if you are not satisfied, otherwise you automatically accept it. The majority of the orders I placed went just fine. I probably placed at least 30 orders for different services over the recent years. Freelancers can reach different levels on the platform depending on how good their work was, like "Seller level 2", "Seller level 1" etc. The status leads to greater visibility and revenue, so they seem to be really motivated to get things done well and on time to receive positive reviews (yes, there's a review system). This is a scam service. I bought a "gig" on 9/14 and the seller wrote the work order to include endless revisions. He then conned me into paying him before the original work was finished. I hired a designer to do an original logo and business card design for me. Months later I found my design on Canva when helping a friend with a project. So the crappy designer San was just copying other people's work from Canva and passing it off as an original. I have had an account for years. It's very hard to communicate with sellers especially when they don't speak English well and I've had work done but usually not exactly what I wanted. Recently, I did a lot of work and they had such scammers that I paid a cumulative $760 which they didn't refund the credit card they gave me a credit. Now they sent an email saying they terminated my account without any reason, saying they monitor my account for a while, and I violated policy. The only thing I ever did was before making payments. I would contact the seller because I've had so many of them not be able to understand what I want to be done and I ask a question and they reply. Then I asked them to send me their pay link so I can pay them to do the work. That's the only thing I can see I have ask them for a pay link.. most recently I wanted to get a Shopify store and get the payment installments through shop. So that's what I was trying to clarify I want to get the payments I just don't want a Shopify account without that. So what did I do wrong I'm 62 I don't know that much about the Fiverr business. I've not had a whole lot of success with it but I keep trying it. So now they're holding up $760 of my money. Terminated the account so I can't even communicate with them. And according to what I've searched, they can hold the money up for 90 days and I don't even know if they refund it??? This is just like they've stolen this money from me. And they said they don't have to give me a reason just that they've monitored me and I violated their policy. I've done nothing wrong. I've paid them good money and now I'm out all this money. I hired someone to re-design my 2 shopify stores. He was going to just give me a premium theme. That sounded sketchy, so I insisted on buying a new one for each. He was fine with that and charged me $250 per store, so $500. Then he redesigned the stores, and they looked fine. Paid him just under $1000. Fast forward a year, I get busted for using an unregistered theme. I was forced to delete it, which drove the websites, so I lost both my stores too. I'm literally left with nothing. Fiverr first told me they couldn't do anything because it was outside of the 14 day grace period. I wrote back saying that this has nothing to do with being unhappy with the work, this seller destroyed both my stores... literally. They wrote back saying that they reviewed it, and a refund couldn't be made because of the 14 days. But they feel bad, so they are giving me a $750 credit. And according to other posts here, my account will likely be shut down. I couldn't trust using Fiverr again, even with $750 off. I purchased a package from content creator, "youtubecreator1" (Shezhad) back on Jun 1, 2021. This Fiverr content creator is based out of Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel. It took 4-5 times before him and I finally got on same page of understanding what I wanted exactly on my video streaming put on Youtube. It took him up to almost a month before he posted my video streaming after I paid him $44.20 when he said earlier will take few days to publish my video streaming. His profile states he's fluent in English but for some reason, we are still having problem communicating English as I have been in the states over 50 years and speak fluent English myself with a Masters degree. After finally he posted it, there were comments that I wanted to clean up on there and I asked Shezhad about getting his assistance. Sometime during that time we were not on same page and we both were getting frustrated with each other. He closed me out from communicating with him late Jul 2021 then I went back to Fiverr CS numerous times letting them know we are not understanding each other's request. Then finally Shezhad communicated with me but then when he thought is better since we're not understanding each other that I can manage my own video streaming there so we tried that and now I can't even pull it up directly from Youtube nor can my friends except for Shezhad having to manage it himself for me. I was so furious as I couldn't pull it up directly anymore from there and now he can only pull it up or send me a link of his which at times I lose things to get that and sometimes will lose where I save his link to send me. I told Fiverr CS about this that I"m not happy how he handled this the whole time working together on this. I am an author and contracted a children's book illustrator to illustrate a 16 page book. I wanted to upload it to Kindle Direct Publishing. I was told my book had to be at least 24 pages which is fine. I asked the illustrator from Fiverr if he could add 8 blank pages in the back for drawing and he agreed. There were some revisions that had to be done, however he did not complete the job. He sent me 16 separate files out of order. I sent it back to him requesting one complete file including the blank pages he agreed to and I did not get that. Fiverr marked the job as completed after I requested revisions before the deadline which was March 11, 2022. The seller delivered the job early and then Fiverr told me I waited too long to request revisions. I paid the seller over $400 dollars for 16 separate files I cannot use? Now this must be resolved through the Better Business Bureau. This is the worst experience I have had as an author and I am terribly disappointed at this company. What an absolute joke. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Paid a graphic "artist" to design a logo around some images I supplied. What I received looked like a 10 year old designed it. I received 3 logos and accepted 2 of them I had paid for 5 revisions and requested one be revised. That never happened and the "artist" ghosted me for a few days until the order auto closed on me. After that, there was still no response from the "artist" so I contacted Fiverr to step in. They were very quick to respond to me but after 2 weeks, failed to do anything at all to make the situation right and just fed me platitude after platitude while basically telling me to get stuffed. Their review process is also a joke as you can only leave a review for a certain SHORT amount of time after an order closes. Due to my having to get Fiverr involved (and At their request), I did not leave a review for the seller and that window has also passed so literally nothing will be done and no review can now be left to warn others of the shenanigans that went on.
