I work in independent film and have printed at least 20 different full-size theatrical movie posters with Publicide. Dusty is my go-to guy there, extremely knowledgeable and personable and always gets the job done, often times ahead of our planned delivery dates. He's got a great knowledge when it comes to different styles of printing, inks, and paper, and can often work to our "indie film" budgets. I've worked with cheap-o printers and been ripped off with a stack of terrible, unusable posters and unfriendly customer service. That has not once happened with Publicide, since they put a ton of thought and care into each project I've brought to them. We are a new company and had many, many questions about the printing process as we wanted our cards to really reflect who we are and our company personality. We worked with Molly, who was a dream. She spent a lot of time in person going over samples with us and explaining the process and then followed up via email with us and continued to be very responsive when we had further questions. The printing quality is superb, and I say this with confidence as my mother is in charge of Graphic Services for Ralph Lauren, who agreed. Their prices are competitive and they have excellent taste, thus a unique and very chic array of paper samples and techniques they use to produce modern, sophisticated print statements that really do give you an edge when doing business. Their product is impressive and I would highly recommend them. I'm surprised by these reviews about lack of customer service and can say that we just ordered another batch of cards from them and the process has been very smooth. read more

Good quality printing and efficient, however, they gave me a lot of trouble when I opted for digital printing. After seeing the proof, I saw a difference in color/color shift from one end of the paper to the other end of the paper. When I brought it up, they guaranteed it could be fixed. The issue was not that they couldn't print the color accurately but that the colors looked different on one end of the paper versus the other end of the same printout. It seemed like a printer issue. After that I got repetitive emails telling me to opt for the more expensive option of offset printing (which I would love if I had the money to do so). After countless emails and mounting frustration, they finally printed it digitally for me again when I said I'd take this project elsewhere to get it printed. But I had to pay to see a second proof even though the first time there were printing errors. The final product came out nice and they packaged it well for me but it was a headache to get to the end point. The frustration must have been mutual because when I contacted them 2 months later for another job, they completely ignored my email. How's that for service? Just a note. Look at the reviews. They are either 1-2 star ratings with terrible experience or a full 5 star satisfaction. The disparity cannot be by chance. read more

I got a quote easily enough for new letterhead and business cards from them. The prices were reasonable so took it to the next step, asking for samples of their previous work and sending over our logo and thoughts on the design. Working with Bil, we received samples which were excellent, but he frequently ignored simple questions and continuously tried to side line our design. He began to insist they couldn't do simple thing like letterpressing a logo. I showed him examples of what we were looking for, things shown on their own site, and he ended up sending a nasty email saying he didn't want to do business with us. Huh? This is a B2B review. We used Publicide for business cards. We ordered letterpress in Sept. While the cards were quite nice in the end, there were many delays, proofing back-and-forth, etc; I had to call several times when my emails went unanswered, at one point we received extremely low-quality temporary cards as a holdover due to delays and were initially charged shipping. By May, they had already thrown out our dies. When I called to inquire about the die situation, I was given several conflicting explanations - they didn't save them because customers' job titles change, they just remake them (and charge for them) each time, they are too small to store them, etc. However, the timing of tossing them appeared to coincide with us requesting the dies in order to switch providers...and after the litany of excuses their representative hung up on me. I would not recommend Publicide for other small businesses. The work quality is good (if a bit pricy) but professionalism and responsiveness need improvement, and the die situation should never have happened. read more

I work as a print buyer at an advertising agency. Every time I have a request for collateral work, I get in touch with Dusty/Publicide. They understand quick turnaround deadlines, are able to produce samples easily, advise if it's better to print digitally or offset, and do all that with a can-do attitude. It's not just about how likeable they are, though, this is a top-notch print shop able to handle traditional offset, letterpress, and digital with equal ease and skill. I've been working with Dusty for over three years now. He's been able to produce things overnight for us. He's been able to produce something overseas for us under insane timeline restrictions. He's been able to alter the weather for us. That last one is a joke, but really, these guys are no joke. Really accommodating, but more importantly, they do great work and really know their stuff! Offensively bad service. The design of my business cards went well then their equipment broke and no one let me know so my order was weeks late with no notice. They also discarded my credit card information I left with them for some reason so when I asked them to bill me they couldn't and when I was too busy to get back to them for a few days regarding payment (their own fault for shredding my credit card imprint. um, why?) they threatened me with legal action. I rarely write negative reviews but this establishment warrants one to make sure no small business decides to rely on Publicide. I needed very straightforward business cards in 5 days. I went down to their shop in person and was promised in person and in writing that if I had the design finalized by the next day, then through a rush charge they can deliver by Friday. Anthony, who works there promised me both in person and in writing. The next day Anthony was not available in the latter part of the day and Bill decided and insisted to take over the account and reneged on the Friday delivery. I explained to him that is the opposite of what his colleague, Anthony, promised just a few hours earlier and in email, his response was if you do not stop interrupting me I will hang-up on you! I asked that he transfer me to Anthony or a supervisor, he said that the final decision resided with him. (If he is the boss/owner, then more reason to be careful using them). He became increasingly unprofessional on the phone and hung up on me when I insisted that I am happy to pay a deposit if they can guarantee Friday delivery. So by Tuesday afternoon I was in a big bind and had no printer to rely on. So if you need professional service, avoid this place. Bill was extremely dismissive and rude. BTW I used Fairway instead (which if I had used yelp beforehand I would have used in the first place due to their higher rating); they solved my problem in less than an hour and provided the cards within 24 hours and: - delivered it at a more competitive price - allowed me to see a physical proof before printing the set; Publicide reused to do so - made minor design changes without a charge, Publicide was going to charge me 30% more for just changing a font on the address - 24 hour turnaround time on a basic business card job vs. Publicide's may be in 48-36 hours and with a very high premium rush fee. Publicide helped us create one of our favorite things from our wedding...a letterpress announcement complete with custom illustrations. I had met with a few other letterpress studios, but it was Publicide's casual, yet knowledgeable vibe that made me select them. Weddings are stressful, but working with Nolan and the entire Publicide team was one of the best parts. Nolan was so patient with us as we explained what we were looking for visually. His illustrations were so great and we couldn't be happier with the final outcome. We had a small run (only 60 announcements) but that was no problem; I'm sure we were one of the smaller clients but they treated us like gold nonetheless. Those lucky 60 people were amazed when they got the announcement...one, that my husband and I got married, and two, with the quality and creativity of the announcement! a friend of mine just told me she called this place for help with business cards and of course, the employees there were so rude and not helpful at all. She was suppose to pick them up in a few days she said when she called to confirm they had no record of her request despite several phone call conversations. Shes a makeup artist and had to do a wedding and couldnt even hand out business cards. I feel so bad for her. I warned her and everyone else! Stay away from this place! Its the worst! Honestly this company does not even deserve one star! I asked them to print invitations to a party and after emailing and calling for over 1 week FINALLY Bill from Publicide emailed me back saying that invitations are not in their scope of work? Meanwhile i saw on yelp other reviews saying that they did print invitations so this was very strange to me? I called the company back and asked Bill if they did in fact do this sort of project and he said no? But couldnt tell me what they do in fact print? So i figured that they put up their own reviews on yelp to say they do work that they dont actually do and give themselves a good review. Anyway Bill was so rude and seemed like he had no idea what he was talking about so I asked to speak to a manager and he said there isnt one?!!? Then I said ok well can I speak to the owner and he replied "we dont have an owner". REALLY??! so theres no manager, no owner, a print shop that doesnt do printing???! What kind of place is this??!?? If anyone is looking to have a print job done i HIGHLY suggest you take your business somewhere else. Terrible service. read more
