I went to Affordable Veterinary Care where they used eye fluroscein to determine my cat had allergies for $155 with the medication included. Vetmed will upcharge you and perform unnecessary procedures to grab a buck. Responding to your comment: the doctor did not know if it was allergies or what was going on with the eye because no tests were done. We opted out of the $600 sedation and $250 tear lab. The other doctor was able to determine it was allergies and not a scratch because they did the fluorscein drops and asked follow up questions. Instead of sedating my cat they wrapped a towel around him. I appreciated the doctor doing the exam in front of me instead of bringing Bean to another room where I can't see how he's being handled (like VetMed does).

He wigged out on myself and my wife at our appointment this week because I had the audacity to ask questions! It was obvious that he was not interested in us saying anything as we were just supposed to keep our mouths shut. Not gonna happen. We have every right to care for our pet's health as we see fit and if we feel we need to inquire of our Vet on how to do this, we have every right to do so. Dr.Gables was VERY RUDE to us and showed no empathy or compassion whatsoever. Our other cat died at the beginning of this month and we told him this twice and he could not even bring himself to offer condolences. Think about this people... What does it say to you about a Vet that after you express some concerns about certain aspects of your pet's test results, the response is "Your cat's gonna die and there aint nothing you can do about it so just accept it" . No interest in helping our cat live as long and healthy as possible...just slamming us for being "obsessive" for asking questions about how to best care for the health of our cat. There is something seriously wrong with this man in my opinion because he was not like this when I first met him. If you are interested in going to a Vet that actually cares about your pet and will treat you with respect and empathy, then LOOK ELSEWHERE!

The staff has always been friendly and helpful. You can really tell that they care about your pet. Dr Claire is amazing. She answered every question I had and treated sammy like he was her own. They discussed all the shots needed and made sure I understood which ones he didn't have to have but they recommended. I knew how much I was going to be paying before I left and there were no surprises. Sammy is a loved and cherished part of our family and I can say that CAH is as well.

We see Dr. Cindy Hand, who is not a native of Tennessee but she clearly loves the area and takes her job very seriously. My dog is aging so it's important to keep him healthy and in my life as long as possible and these people feel the same way. This kind of care isn't cheap. However, I feel you get what you pay for and so far they have exceeded my expectations! Thank you!

The sitter brought him to this veterinary clinic and they held on to him for over a week till we were able to return. They took great care of him and even made us a paw print mold that we cherish so very much. I'm so extremely grateful to everyone here that helped us through the most awful tragic event that our family endured. I have been and will continue to recommend this place. The front door was already locked, so the receptionist had to unlock it just to speak with us. Instead of providing care or even having the veterinarian assess whether my dog was stable, we were simply told they were closed, the doctor was leaving, and that we would have to go somewhere else. When you advertise emergency veterinary services until 10:00 PM, locking your doors early and refusing to even evaluate an animal in distress before your posted closing time is unacceptable. Those five minutes can be the difference between life and death for someone's beloved pet. The complete lack of compassion, urgency, and professionalism we experienced was shocking. Pet owners come to an emergency clinic during some of the most frightening moments of their lives. To be turned away before the stated closing time, without so much as an examination, showed a level of indifference that no family should have to experience. I sincerely hope Livewell reevaluates its policies and reminds its staff that every minute matters in an emergency. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend trusting them with a pet whose life may depend on timely care.

How about the fact that it appears they don't even do the actual medical work as they claim they do? Today I had to put down my kitten who was spayed here just yesterday. When they released her to me, she was very lethargic, and barely could breathe. Bringing her back in today, it turns out she had a collapsed lung likely due to pneumonia, and likely infection relating to kidney issues. As far as I'm aware, no apparent tests were run that would check for any of this beforehand. Additionally, on discharge, the checkup form they gave me indicated that they had checked her respiratory abilities and found no issue. It appears that they did not check for this on release though, as I suspect they would have noticed something was wrong. Unfortunately as a non-trained professional, it was just assumed to be the reaction from the anesthesia. The kitten's condition and breathing was in the same state from the moment I picked her up to the moment she was put down. To make this more frustrating, the clinic also couldn't keep her there to attempt to save her over the weekend, as they didn't have weekend staff. Instead they recommended to pass her off to an ER location that would cost $3000 a day for a chance of her to make a recovery. In the end the hard decision was made to end her suffering, despite her short life lived. Of course there's really nothing the public can do, as the wonderful animal medical system often feels like a massive hustle for the consumer and leaves you with no legs to stand on. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone. I believe there are much better, and cheaper, options in town.

Dr. Erkman is a very knowledgeable and a thorough veterinarian. I would trust any of my animals with her! The way they handled my sick baby girl with such love and gentle care was superior! Taylor at the front has the greatest and most understanding voice, a true comfort and vital asset.
