I reached out to the owner of FIX Aveda Concept Salon after my recent color service because my gray hair was not fully covered. I explained my limited schedule and asked if I could come in on Saturday for a touch-up. The owner offered to squeeze me in but stated there would be no time for a blowout. I explained that drying my hair was necessary to confirm the color was corrected, but the response I received made me uncomfortable. I ultimately declined the appointment and said I would wait until my next scheduled visit. The owner then replied that I should find another salon that could better meet my needs. It's disappointing, as I truly liked my stylist and had enjoyed my experiences there up until this point. I suppose the moral of the story is that how a business handles customer concerns says as much about its professionalism as the quality of its work. read more

I just wanted to share a quick note about Angie, my hair dresser. I have been coming to Fix for a little over a year and Angie has been amazing. This is a time for me to relax and enjoy the treatments and she makes sure that when I leave I am happy and feeling great about my new look. I usually bring in pictures of how I want my hair and color and she makes it happen. Plus she styles it so that I can easily do this at home. She recommends products that will help my issues and I tried the deep conditioner recommendation and it left my hair with shine and no frizz. WOW pretty much sums up my time here!! You start off with a short free massage and they offer free tea to drink! I loved Sokphal because she knew exactly what I wanted to do with my hair and also was very informative on the process. I have very fine hair and wanted something to let it look more full and give some dimension! She gave me exactly what I wanted without having to bleach my hair afterwards you get a free makeup touchup and that was free too! Just had my first haircut with Tori at FIX and I am so grateful I did! I was a hairstylist in Los Angeles for over a decade and let me just say how very impressed I was with the whole experience. First of all it is a gorgeous salon, clean as a whistle, and so very peaceful. The front of house staff were all welcoming, kind, and very attentive. Tori was incredible- a talented hairstylist as well as a kind and mellow human whom I not only trusted with my hair but also enjoyed just being around. I first came to FIX about ten years ago, after a disastrous $20 cut at a chain salon left me with something resembling a wide rat tail in the back (I was unemployed then and trying to save a few bucks). Erica remedied the situation, and I've been loyal ever since. On the occasions that I've called and Erica didn't have availability within the next few weeks (seriously, she really is that good), I've had my hair done by Estelle, Lizzie, and Sokphal, and they are all great. Once, I went in and requested fairly high-contrasting highlights that didn't come out well, and actually started turning color a few days later. I went in and spoke with the owner, Julene. She handled the situation professionally and had me walking out a few hours later, with a fresh new color, and completely satisfied. Both the work and the customer service here are top-notch. I don't take chances with my hair anymore, so I refuse to allow anyone not affiliated with FIX Salon to even touch it. read more

This is hands-down the best salon in the area... And most likely outside of the area. My own mother comes from the Detroit area to have her hair done here. The staff is professional kind gracious and the owner is beyond wonderful. I went to see a stylist who I had seen once before. She had fixed a cut and color that was originally done by one of her coworkers. I really enjoyed the cut that she did, so I decided to book with her when I was ready for another haircut months later. I showed her a picture of myself with the original cut that she did a few months prior. I again explained what I was looking for in a cut--same details as before--but it had been awhile and I don't expect her to remember. I noticed that as soon as I mentioned I had lightened my own hair, her demeanor completely changed. She remained professional, but it was clearly forced. I was not there for color (or judgement), only a cut. Once she was "done" with the cut, she began to put some waves in it. I was a little surprised she considered the cut finished since she hadn't shown me the back at all and in the front the "slightly heavier curtain bang" I had asked for was pretty thin and was not blended into the rest of the hair on one side. Definitely disconnected and not blended into the length at all. She did address this somewhat when I said something. I had to ask her if I could see the back. The back was interesting. I did say that I did not want a straight across blunt cut (same as last time) and we both agreed on a more beveled look across the back. However, toward the bottom, the top layer of hair seemed to be cut basically straight across and the layers underneath were unevenly chopped into leaving about a 1/2 in. choppy and hanging that really shouldn't be there. When I asked about the back looking so choppy she told me "honestly it's probably due to breakage"... obviously she said this because I lightened my own hair (with 20 volume for 30-35 min on uncompromised hair, I also use Olaplex--THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO BREAKAGE). I showed her a pic of the back of my hair on my phone that indicated that--no breakage of any kind whatsoever. She said "well how long ago was that picture taken?" I explained it was from two days prior. She then assured me that the look of the bottom back portion of my hair was now because she dried my hair straight for cutting purposes and if it were round brushed when blow drying (which I always do) it would not look that way. Against my gut feeling, I gave her the benefit of the doubt, only to come home and find that was not the case. When I paid for my service, I was asked if I wanted to reschedule. I said not at this time and paid the bill w/ tip per usual. After I got home, I noticed an email from the salon sent at 12:00 noon (my appointment was at 12:15) confirming my next appointment for August 20th? I was rebooked before I even showed up for my appointment. I understand salons typically have metrics to meet for product sales, rebooking, etc. but I found that to be very odd. read more

I am very upset with this place I will not return and I will cancel my appointment I have coming up again I did not realize until I got home how messed up my hair was I have chemical burns on my scalp , if I can post picture I will my haircut is so uneven! I went to work and I had people say to me your hair looks so damaged and your haircut is so uneven where did you get your hair done at who did that to you, so embarrassing for me! what happened was the girl did not use the right color to match my hair the first time so right after that I had to go to another stylist who then put bleach in my hair after I had foil and color they bleached my hair and then after bleach a toner was put in my hair! the cut also hideous! After pay 160 I had to go to Sally's spend $100 to try to get some thing in my hair to help it it did not work now I have to pay someone else on Tuesday to fix my hair or should I say try to fix my hair!!! I pray to God that the lady on Tuesday is able to fix my hair somewhat I am about to cry!! read more

I paid $51 for a terrible haircut. I'm giving it 2 stars because the stylist was so friendly. She was super nice to talk to but definitely shouldn't be charging $51 for her cuts. I don't mind paying over $50 for a haircut but it has to be good. I saw a review on here recommending her. read more

I have been going here for several years and love Erica. I don't spend a lot of time on my hair and want to come periodically and get a good cut and sometimes color, without a lot of fuss or the expectation that I will need do a lot to maintain it. She understands this and always gives me an excellent cut that works for how I want style it (or not) with no pressure and without being condescending. It is a relaxing environment and they build community among their clients. It is a treat to go and I have increased the frequency of how often I come because it's worth it! read more
