I recently used Fixed-in-a-Flash to have a ring resized and a nice watch repaired. They gave an immediate quotation on the ring, and called me after checking the watch with the estimate to repair. The costs were fair considering the needs, and I believe they would be very competitive with any other shop. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I got both items back within a fair time, at the agreed price, and I am very satisfied with the results. read more

Called ahead to ask about replacing batteries in my watches. They said they'd do it while I waited. Fixed them super quick and let me know beforehand one was going to cost more and why to make sure I was ok with it. Set the time for me too! Very nice couple running the store. Highly recommend. read more

I had a bracelet in need of repair. When I went to retrieve it, the length was too short for my wrist, so a redo was necessary. While they did get it right the second time, I thought the cost was a little high. Customer service, as noted in other reviews, is a bit lacking. It's an OK choice for a minor repair, but I wouldn't take jewelry of any value to them. read more

This place is awesome! Over the summer, I had several pieces of jewelry that needed small repairs. They put a new battery in my watch on the spot, put new clasps on a few necklace - done on the spot and quickly! I highly recommend taking in jewelry or watches to be fixed. I have been more than happy with all the repairs made and just dropped off a ring and pair of earrings to be repaired. This place is great!!!! read more

I was looking at several of my watches the other day and decided to make some more casual by replacing the steel bracelets with nice italian made leather straps. Watches included multi-thousand $ Omegas, Mont Blancs, Bedat and a very cool botique brand made by N.O.A. I had one other lesser expensive mechanical watch with a rubber strap that I wanted to swap for a nice factory model bracelet that needed to be sized as well. Ed and his wife were very courteous and helpful. I was in and out in about an hour and it would have been faster if their phones weren't ringing and people weren't knocking on their security door to pick up their orders. I had a great experience and my bill was well less than I anticipated. I have quite a few other watches that I'm going to go through and I'll return to these folks for future modifications. Very personable and honest experience and I certainly recommend them for strap swaps, watch batteries, bracelet re-sizing, etc. read more

I popped in for a watch battery change and was very pleased with my experience. True to their name, they had the battery changed in less than 2 minutes and even adjusted the watch to reflect the correct time. I appreciated that extra attention to detail. Cost was minimal and customer service was very friendly. Will definitely be getting all watch battery changes here going forward! read more

Horrendous! I left an earring to have the post welded back on. When I came to pick it up, 5 small stones from it were completely missing, and the plating that had previously given it color was burned off. There was no comment about what happened until I said they had destroyed my earring. Then they wanted me to leave the mate, so they could "fix" it. One can imagine that I wasn't interested in leaving the mate, for them to steal the stones from it as well. This is the type of "jeweler" you've heard of, where you leave your diamond ring, and what you get back is a cubic zirconia. They claimed that the heat to weld the post on caused the damage - but if that's the case, what did they do with the stones when they came off? I am leaving these thieves 1 star, because zero isn't an option. Unless you want costume jewelry from the dollar store fixed, I would not ever take it here. read more

This place is a joke. My wife took her open hearts necklace in to have our newborn son's birth stone placed on it and his name engraved as it already had our older son's name and birth stone. They assured her they could do it with no problem. Not only could they not do it, they ruined her necklace in the process. Instead of a ruby for his birth stone, they put some ugly pink one on it and you can't even read the engraving. My wife went to pick it up today and was very unhappy with it. They tried to act like it was her fault and charged her 140 bucks for their crappy workmanship. My wife loved this necklace and is now devastated. Needless to say I will not be giving Fixed in a Flash anymore of my business and i will make sure to spread the word everywhere i can about what a sorry operation they run. They don't even deserve one star. read more

We failed to ask up-front the cost for replacing a men's leather watch band with one we had purchased elsewhere. We were charged $20 for the job...twice the amount expected for a simple leather band replacement. Our experience suggests that customers should never have work performed in this shop without a quote and be willing to pay above average prices. read more

Every time I go in to get something fixed they don't know how to simply explain my options. They act bothered to have another customer. They must be doing fine because they acted like they don't need any business when I asked them to fix my watch. No sense of customer service! read more

Although their Google ad says they do, this jewelry store DOES NOT do same day ring sizing. They DO NOT even have a jeweler on site. Do not waste your time. They can't fix anything in a flash. read more

Ok I start from the beginning to how found this Gem of a Jewelry store. First think that happend…read morewas my beautiful Fiancé snagged her engagement ring on her shirt and pulled out a diamond from her ring. This saddened her greatly so I promptly went strait to yelp to find a jeweler that could repair the damaged ring. I found one of only 2 Yelp jewelers in the central KY area that gave quotes directly on Yelp. I shot Alternative a photo of the damaged ring and within a few hours a friendly Gentleman named Danny gave me a price quote and a turn around time. I was very happy with both the price and promptness of the turn around time. I slide into the store and meet Danny which evaluated the engagement ring damage and found that it was a bit worse that the photo I showed him. He found about 6 of the other diamonds loose and a prong broke which was the cause of the diamond becoming lost out of the set. Danny stood behind the original quote and gave me the option to secure the other diamond at the small increased price from the original quote. It was a no brainer decision for the piece of mind of not having other loose stones in her ring. One week later i get a phone call from the shop that the ring is ready. I call Danny the next day to let him know that i am picking the ring up and that I maybe a tad bit later than there closing time of 5pm. Danny never hesitated to keep the store open till I got there. I bet nobody else in the area would do that. Moral of the story The stone was replaced, ring was beautifully cleaned, and all the loose stones were secured! It was outstanding work preformed on the repair and Danny is a true pleasure to deal with. Did i mention that they have been in business for like 20 years? I am very happy knowing that if there is a need for me to purchase repairs or custom jewelry I have a home to run to in the area! Thank you Danny and Alternative Jewelry for all the attention!

They had sent it out to headquarter because the person could not repair in store. But no one called to notify me or thought I should know that it would take longer than quoted. I called every week for an update. Was constantly told that someone will call me back. No one EVER called me back. At other jewelry places, I was notified of my jewelry in every step of the process, whether the repair has started or that the item was sent to a repair shop. Almost 2 months later, I was told it was be in the store at a certain date. Called on the evening of that date, they still don't know where my ring is and have no answer on who I need to call to find out where my ring is. This has the the worst and most frustrating experience I've had. I am about to get marry in one week with no ring. This was not a cheap ring either. It's not something I can easily replace. Beware of the lies you tell you after you purchase the ring. I was also initially told that insurance would cover my gem replacement. I had to pay for my gem out of pocket when I took it in to repair.

Robin made my visit very pleasant! This establishment does quite a bit of drop off laundry service, three staff members were busy folding and ironing laundry for customers. For individuals who opt for self-serve washing and drying, they have a variety of different sized washing machines, and an entire wall of new dryers. All the machines are wiped down after each load and appear super clean. The cost is reasonable for the self-serve washing/drying. I did not inquire about the drop-off service so I am unable to provide insight on that service. They offer two coin machines, as well as vending machines and an ATM. The staff informed me that they are completely remodeling the business, they are adding six new big washing machines (60 lb and 80 lb load capacity), they are putting in new flooring, painting, closing off the back right section (which is where they will be performing the drop-off service tasks of folding, ironing, and bagging laundry. They are also going to add a patio table outside of the entrance and changing the name to "The Laundry Room". The remodel should be completed by the end of June 2025. When I need external laundry services I will definitely return to this business.

I check yearly to see if my review is still here and surprise! It was removed! Back in 2009 they were to fix the prongs on my diamond wedding ring at their store that was at Hamburg and ruined it. Then were the rudest and most dishonest business I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I had to spend $1,000 at another jeweler's to have my ring put back the way it was before they worked on it. I would never ever deal with these folks again. That was 12 years ago people and I will NEVER forget it. Read deep and read all reviews and check various sites. Not all business are good just because they've been there a while.
