I scheduled a technician with out knowing it wasn't GDI for repair between 4-8 pm. The technician showed up at 4 and was here until 930 pm. He kept adding more parts and cost to the repair. I will say that he was very nice and I feel bad for the review but he kept adding parts throughout the evening. What started as a 350 repair ended up being 1276 and that included a 10 percent military/first responder/senior discount. Im not sure it needed all of the additional parts which some were smaller than the old parts. The door worked great prior and was very quiet. It just lost a spring that morning and we didn't use it until repair. It ends up that the door is not any smoother or quieter, but actually worse. Woke up and the door will not close all the way. Tried to use it manually and it wont even stay closed. The door opener is struggling to close the door towards the bottom and its being pushed up from the start. Door opener is making noises it never made before. I called that morning and was only offered 9-1 the next day and that was at 10am when I was heading to work. No other availability that day so I took today 8/28 off for a 9-1 appointment. Received a call from the office at 1pm saying they wont be coming out. They offered Friday 9-1 but I cant take another day off. You would think that if I was a brand new customer this wouldn't happen. Apparently once they get your money its at their convenience. No call from a manager or supervisor to try and make this work. I was just told to call back when I can schedule. I guess if this burns up my very expensive garage door opener they are responsible? Not sure what to do? Thank goodness I used AmEx. I do want to say again that the technician that came out was very nice and professional, but not sure about his knowledge. Lets see what they do and I will update my review. Not sure the actual reviews are even their company.

Do yourself a favor and make Gold Standard your last call. Because once they show up you are gonna have them do the work. When I got home, my garage door was wide open. I knew I closed it properly when I left to go to…read morework...I further discovered the door became "phantomized." In other words it operated on its own and would neither close nor stay open; it "bounced" up and down. Great way to start my new year, huh? So I called Precision, who has taken care of my garage door since day one here many years ago. They gave me an appointment window of 2-6. Lo and behold the tech (Jesús) called me at 1:35 and was here by 2:05. Long story short, the board on my current motor was on its way out. He offered a few different possibilities for a remedy, and he patiently presented the various scenarios and associated costs. Long story short: we opted for an altogether new motor; the current one was a bit underpowered for the Big Bertha Door we have. All that came with a new programmable keypad, new hardware, and the ability to monitor its status from the ol' smartphone at any time! He also noticed our veteran's license plate and arranged for a 5% vet's discount! So once was all said and done, Jesús (also a vet) showed us how to program the keypad, how to reprogram our cars, PLUS how to install and engage the smartphone app. Beyond that, he also readjusted the springs, lubricated all the hardware and left us some lubricating oil! I've never had a bad experience with these folks and today was a ROCKSTAR experience. Jesús was very polite, friendly and professional. He truly went out of his way to make us comfortable and happy with our transaction. All of this even happened on January 1st, when so many other businesses would just be closed. In short, this whole transaction was basically completed a little more than two short hours after my discovery: on a holiday no less. So once again I can and do HIGHLY recommend Precision. We all have ups and downs in life, but if you want your garage door's ups and downs to be good ones, then go no farther and get YOUR 2025 off to a slam-bang start.

I needed a motor replacement as the door was in reverse mode but was not ancient,a 2014 model but Precision no longer trusts it so I went with a new Genie unit and keypad and two remotes for $700ish. Jackson was very personable and expedited the fix in an hour on a late Saturday afternoon. Yes,I know not every tech is as personable but Precision is trying to train them better than other services so give them a call when needed.
