I missed him a lot . I found out from my fried who were able to get in touch with them that he was adapted by a family with a 4 years old boy and his father used to have rabbits . but why they did not give me a call I left multiple messages . the women was so cruel I cried to give him back to me before he was adapted. I was there next day and I begged them to give me back to me , but did not give him to me . I am so said and missed him a lot . these people are pretending to be good but they cruel and was friendly with me . I just wanted to get my Sunny back . Amazing Humane Society! I am a huge animal lover and have been to this Humane Society multiple times and they never fail to disappoint. I have gotten 6 animals from here before and they have all turned out to be amazing pets. They are low priced and even have sales occasionally. They tend to keep it pretty clean and well maintained. Absolutely Heartbreaking Experience - Deeply Disappointed After 20+ Years of Support I never imagined I'd be writing this, but my recent experience at the Flagler County Humane Society was nothing short of devastating. Yesterday, my beloved dog was in critical condition and dying in my vehicle as I rushed inside desperately seeking help. To my absolute shock and horror, the woman at the front desk was unbelievably rude, dismissive, and showed zero compassion. She turned me away -- knowing full well my dog was suffering just outside. I've been a loyal supporter and generous donor for over 20 years, always believing in the mission of this organization and the good people behind it. I've known many volunteers at Flagler County Humane Society over the years, and they have always been kind, selfless, and dedicated to animal welfare. This woman, however, was the antithesis of everything the organization claims to stand for. Her cold and offensive behavior was not only shocking -- it was inhumane. This is a place that should be a safe haven for animals and a source of support for those who love and care for them. Instead, I was met with heartlessness at one of the most painful moments of my life. This woman should absolutely not be working in a facility meant to care for vulnerable animals -- or interacting with people in distress. Flagler County Humane Society needs to seriously reevaluate who they entrust to represent their mission. One cruel person can undo decades of goodwill. read more

I called to inquire about low cost vet services and they asked me my name. Me being a nice person and thinking people want to help lol willingly gave my information. Well...I got 2 $75 tickets taped to my garage later that day for failure to register a pet. If the genius that directed this desperate move noticed I got a 3 year rabies vacc and it was on the certificate. It's sad! Pet registration compliance is around 23% and you took a shot at someone who made an effort at it. why not pull up on people at the park or walking dogs on the road? SAD! Id never deal with these people EVER! Brainless! read more

We got our cat & our dog from here. Both great experiences. Best dog & best cat we have ever had. Our cat passed away we had him for 13 years not sure how old he was when we got him from here and our dog is 15 now getting up there in years. Whenever I drive by I have great memories of taking our daughter to pick out her dog and the cat chose her such beautiful memories. I am so thanks for this place. I'm sure I will be back again someday. A house is not a home without a pet. read more

If I could give the vet part of this place 0 stars I would. I love the adoption area the lady that works there is great and was really helpful! And do not let this discourage you from adopting!! I got a gorgeous girl from there and they told me I had to bring her in Wednesday to get neutered. When I went to go pick her up after her surgery she has cuts on each side of her incision. The lady that I adopted her from has been super helpful and contacted someone for me. They said it was "razor burn" last time I checked I didn't know gashes on her skin is considered razor burn. It was from them shaving her stomach clearly with force. I have never seen this happen with any of my dogs. And it looks extremely painful, I am beyond angry. Not to mention if it was an "accident" you would think they wouldn't do it to the other side!!! My poor puppy is only 2 months old. If I could give less I would. 1st the large dogs are kept in a small kennel run for hours on end and have a lot of stress and anxiety. Yes they have volunteers that come walk the dogs but it not enough help for them or the dogs. When I went in to adopt a dog and filled out the paper I was basically pushed aside for someone that they person sitting at the adopt table knew after the person came it to drop off the kittens that were being fostered. When they staff though I walked away to allow others to fill out forms for other animals the staffer stated that the person who fostered was who should be allowed to adopt. After waiting a while to see they would give me the approval and saw how well they dog got along with me. The staff person kept saying ok well we will call you and let you know something. After walking outside a few the person who was friends with the employee walked out with the dog. After checking to see why they left with the dog the staff claimsed it was a foster situation when I was fully capable of taking the dog home right then and there even had the needed harness and leash in the car. And that I was 1st on the list to adopt the dog. CALLED today and was told by the Director that the dog was in fact adopted by the employee friend today and was not sure why they were so miss leading with the fact. SO NEVER ADOPT THERE UNLESS YOU WANT A RUN AROUND OR KNOW SOMEONE WHO WORKS THERE!!!!!! read more

Cruel!! Was promised a Boston Terrier, that reminded me of my recently lost dog Stella, named Stitch! Cute name huh? So I thought! Drove the hour to come get him, and someone was already here looking at him and filling out adoption paperwork! My husband and I heart dropped, we thought we had an addition to our family! ointment to find out it was an open clinic and I was number 46 in line. Mind you it's 90+ out. Was never told it was an open clinic. After waiting for over 2hrs we get in the room with the vet and about 6 staff to assist. Walked in and awkwardly stand there with my dog because nobody said a word. Finally said let's get him weighed. After getting him weighed they give shots and said ok your good. Mind you before I went I asked timeline for an appointment for neutering and was told 2 weeks or so. When I get out to the front desk the guy said what do you need, I said I was told to check out at the front desk and to schedule an appointment for nurturing. He said well we are scheduling for after first of the year. I said wait a moment and told him from the call experience, to experience of being there, to now after first of the year. I will never return to this location, ever. From start to finish it was a horrible experience and his Attitude of what do you need, was beyond unprofessional. read more

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!! I just recently adopted a 3 year old Australian Shepard. The night that I got him we spent most of the night in the urgent vet because of a botched neuter job. I reached out to the director and all he said to me was that I should have waited and brought him back to see there vet. I live two hours away and the dog would have had to go all night with a severe infection on his testicals. He was in so much pain he could barely walk and could not fall asleep. I had no other choice but to bring him to the closest and only vet open. He was not sent home with a e-collar to prevent licking and infection nor did they tell me about it or give me any antibiotics for the problem. read more

Many years ago there was a puppy mill in the area that made national news. Over 500 dogs were rescued. We were at a stage in our lives where we had decided to get 2 puppies. I wanted a Yorkie and a Pomeranian, already named them PomPom and YoYo. People were picketing on the steps of the courthouse. We called and were told we needed a home inspection/interview before we would be considered to adopt. No problem. A lady came the next day, saw that we were mature adults, had fenced in yard, home was "lovely" according to her, filled out some paperwork and were told they would be in touch. The following Friday we were called that the judge had made his ruling, but that the puppy mill owner was appealing. We were told that if we wanted the dogs we had to be there at 8 AM and adopt, that he could not get any dogs back that had been adopted. The street was lined with cars on both sides for blocks. Even WESH TV was there and interviewed me. I was told there were no Yorkies left and only 2 Pomeranian brothers, would be take them both? Absolutely! They were so cute they were put on the following year's calendar (still have it!). YoYo lived to be 15 and PomPom 17 years old. Best dogs ever, with the exception of our "fur babies" now, Versace (Yorkie) and Winston Churchill (miniature Schnauzer). All the fur babies we have ever had have been the best! So upset to find out that they put my dog Petra sleep. We tried contacting them to see if she's already adopted a week after we dropped her off there due to my health issue. They would not answer to our question and my friend found out that they put my dog sleep due to attacking other dogs when they were aware that she can't get along w dogs. read more

Well first off I use to foster with them a few years back. We fostered pit bulls through them. I like to foster because I think it helps prepare a dog for life in a new home. Well we stopped fostering through them because when we brought back puppies to be ready, the women at the front desk was 100% unacceptable and rude. She was very annoyed that we brought the puppies back and didn't adopt them after we fostered them for a few weeks. She even went as far as to letting other employees know that we weren't adopting. So I stopped going there for some time. But with Christmas around the corner, I decided to give fostering a dog a go again. Because I wanted to shower a dog with love an affection around the holidays. I go there, and within a few minutes a women came up to me and told me that there was a few good ones for my family. We took one out for a walk, she was polar opposite of what she claimed this dog was like. And then she proceeded to tell me that none of the dogs would be a good fit for my family because we have a toddler. She went from pushing an adoption on us, to us not wanting any of the dogs. Which made zero sense. She didn't even wear a mask the entire time she was talking to us. Also, side note.. be careful if you have kids while going there. They have multiple vicious dogs in their kennels for people to see who will literally try and jump their fence doors to bite you. Like foaming from the mouth, barking their heads off. I am sticking to my guns this time, and I refuse to go back. The employees don't know their animals, most of the dogs shouldn't be out to the public because they're super mean. Super disappointed. I was disappointed that no one follows up with the animals adopted from the shelter. we adopted a beautiful kitty on Monday and brought her in today for a vaccination and I went inside to the front desk to ask a question about her shot, they answered my question but no one ask how she was doing or anything? and most are not friendly, they never smile, and we gave a nice donation too. But we are very happy with our little Snuggles, and was thinking of using their clinic, but think I will just use one we found. read more

This is an outstanding small humane society. I have adopted all but two of my dogs here. They have great fundraising events. The staff vastly improved during the last several years. The staff is awesome and very friendly and helpful. I have been volunteering here for several years and there has been a great turn around. *typed on a old phone, ignore typos* *please don't let this rating stop you from adopting an animal in need, but this place does need an issue addressed* I wont go into much detail, because if you are reading my post, you most likley are reading other negative post, and I believe they are mostly on this same topic. This shelter had a hoard of hamsters come in. Another rescue agreed to take in ALL of the hamsters, witha complete care plan, completely free, and the shelter agreed. However after that agreement this shelter went ahead and put down all the female hamsters (almost 100) ,and gave no reason to the public or the rescue who was awaiting their arrival. This outraged many hamster owners (including me) who heard about the case on a facebook hamster care group (many users were considering adopting some of the rescued hamsters or preparing donations for the rescue group) Not only has the shelter neglected to give any sort of appology, reason, or any sort of statement on the issue they deleted and blocked people on their facebook page who were asking "why?" and were upset. They attemted to cover everything up and it makes us wonder what else their managment has or will cover up.While the damage has been done, I think they need to be called out on this, and they should own up to what they did with a statement. An explanation. Not total avoidance and censorship of opposing views. That being said, this is a management issue, and the pets in this shelter should not have to suffer because of this. Please continue to adopt and foster these innocent pets that get dropped off here. While I might be bit weary of monetary donations, donations of goods,food,toys and volunteering your time is important to these pets. Also check out the pipsqueakery hamster rescue and consider either donating or adopting one of the several male or now-motherless baby hamsters they took in. NOT ONLY ARE THEY DELETING AND BLOCKING PEOPLE FOR WRITING A BAD REVIEW ON FACEBOOK, THEY HAVE DELETED NEGATIVE REVIEWS ON GOOGLE AND OTHER SITES. STILL WITHOUT ONE SINGLE COMMENT ON THE MATTER TO THE PUBLIC. Any place with business ethics know you address negative reviews, use them to improve, not delete them and hide them. read more

I have always adopted my pets. And it has been rewarding so far till I visited Flagler Humane Society. I came from California and was excited to meet a couple babies and was ready to adopt additional babies till I met this lady named MaryAnn. First of all if you work in a shelter, you should be able to look helpful for one, second of all, you can't be sarcastic and answer your own questions before I give you mine. I know I live in Ormond Beach but I work a lot and there wasn't any hold notice on the puppies and plus she even said out loud that the hold on both puppies doesn't have any contact information. Third, she wanted me to call and check tomorrow. Me.. uhm I have done this a lot and I believe you should be the one giving me the call to see if the adoption went through or not.. This has been a very bad experience for me! Maryann should work better with her customer service skill - you are trying to help people find these poor babies find a forever home. Don't act like it's a hustle and rush people out the door! I still want to adopt these babies but I am not sure I wanted to be helped by her again. These poor babies. Oh and months back I was looking at these beautiful dog and was ready to give him a good home and siblings to play. I have filed an application online and never once heard from them. Reviews at these place is horrible and she wanted me to call her tomorrow about the hold situation when one of the reviews said they rarely answer/return calls!! read more

Long in coming........I adopted "Buddy" (now renamed SAMMY) 2 years ago. When I was browsing the cat room, I was interested in another Siamese cat to possibly be-friend my then, 6 year old Siamese cat named Kitt. This little black cat with a cut off tail named Buddy, would not leave me alone. I figured that no one would adopt this little bundle of purr, so I did. Two years later, Sammy, as he is called now, is a happy, spoiled, active cat who comically entertains me at least once daily. The people at the humane society seemed like they really care about the animals there and more-so about the adoptive parent of one of their animals. I will definitely come here again, when I feel the urge to adopt again. read more

We go to this facility pick out a dog on Monday with staff Tiffany who did a great job,. We find Topanga that Catalina falls in love with. We fill out the paperwork talk to a guy at the adoption desk and they tell us after Topanga in spade and has her shots we can pick her up. We call Tuesday they say she is ready to pick up. We tell them Friday , they say if you don't get it sooner it will likely be adopted. We arraign for my brother in law to drive from DeLand near Orlando all the way to St Aug and take Catalina to get the Topanga. She gets there they say you have to take the Brother also. Nothing said about this when we talk to them Tuesday and the 2 times I call today telling them we're coming and that they were near. They said they separated two bunnies and it turn out bad and they just could separate these siblings. Their lack of communication became our problem so this adoption guy Daniel and director Melissa made their problem ours. read more
