Our pup daycare/boarding facility abruptly shut down a few days before the Thanksgiving holidays. We had 2 trips planned in the next week! I had no idea what to do on such short notice. I couldn't be happier with her services. She was on time and followed what we talked about to the exact point. Because we had back to back trips I had to schedule a 3 hr in house pup- sitter. This time we had Kourtney she was always on time. She played, walked and gave Solo hugs and cuddles for their time together. Both Lora and Kourtney were great with Solo. They lost my dog!!! If you are like me, your pets are like your kids and you're vetting every possible pet care provider and reading their reviews thoroughly before hiring. That's what I did, and it was a no-brainer to go with dog days and cat naps because the reviews were excellent. Then on just the second day into his private boarding, while I'm halfway around the world, they lost my dog. I needed a private boarder for my dog to stay with while I was on a trip out of the country. I was connected to one of their boarders and told that she had two cats. Come to find out she has two cats AND two dogs. OK, no big deal. Had a meet and greet, the dogs all got along, and I booked the private boarding services for my trip. I booked my sweet one-year-old puppy to stay with the boarder for 12 days. The first day was fine, I was getting texts with pictures and updates and it was great. However, as soon as I got off of my 18 hour flight to Japan, I had an urgent message from my daughter saying that the microchip company Home Again contacted her because someone found my dog alone and loose in the street. I has no messages from the pet sitter nor from anyone at dog days and cat naps. The pet sitter had yet to reach out to me, the company had yet to reach out to me. But the woman that found my dog and the chip company had both contacted me and my daughter by both text and calling. Unfortunately, I was on an international flight and was unavailable. Luckily, my daughter was able to speak to the girl who found my dog and confirm he was safe. I texted the pet sitter telling her about the message my daughter got and at that time she said "oh I'm so sorry he ran out when I briefly opened my door." I was in complete shock. Mind you, I am literally halfway around the world 13 hours ahead of Florida and my dog is at some stranger's house because this very well-vetted company's employee let him run out her front door. Further, I nor the two emergency contacts I had listed for my dog were even informed when this occurred. Come to find out several hours went by before the pet sitter even sent a text, and it was to one of the two emergency contacts and it was one digit off. I left two emergency contacts on a piece of paper for the pet sitter in addition to on the company's portal, but somehow neither the two of them nor myself were ever contacted. So I contacted the owner of Dog days and cat naps and stated that I consider the contract to be canceled given the gross negligence on their part. His response was that he would have to check the invoice rather than addressing the fact that his employee lost my dog while I'm in Japan. Only after I clearly laid out the fact that just 1 day into my vacation halfway around the world 13 hours ahead of where my dog is, I'm having to arrange for my dog to be picked up from some stranger who found him in the street, then have someone go to the pet sitter's house to collect his things as well as the prednisone required daily for his heartworm treatment and immediately have to try to find a trustworthy pet sitter did he seem to understand the gravity of the situation and finally apologize. I will obviously never use this company again. Unfortunately, the reviews gave every indication that this was a great company to use. My experience was clearly the opposite. They lost my dog and didn't say anything to anyone for several hours and then addressed the invoice rather than simply taking responsibility and apologizing. Unfathomable and unprofessional. *in response to the business's response - Matt, you emailed me a screenshot from Kim where she texted my daughter several hours later, she never contacted anyone within the hour. Further, I wrote down two different emergency contacts for her in addition to my own contact. The numbers were accurate. And you didn't charge me because I told you the contract was canceled; your first response was not to apologize, it was to say you would look at the invoice. Only after I pointed out the audacity of that did you say I would not be charged. read more

We had a great experience using DD&CN. It was easy to setup using their online portal. We had Mark as our sitter and he couldn't have been better. We have two Boston Terriers and one of them can be quite scared with new people. He was very patient with her and after about a day they were the best of friends. They did not have anyone available at the time but the owner JP generously said he would take care of my "boo" himself. Never got the chance to use the service. I called a couple of times seeking information trying to ask general questions to have my dog boarded. I initially spoke with the owner who was rushing me off the phone saying the number I called is for emergencies only. However, it is the only number listed on their website. 904-241-7387 Furthermore, I ended up figuring out the answer to my questions and received a follow up email asking me to provide more info once I registered. So when I called back the owner JP answered and began to condescend me making comments about how I'm not tech savvy and kept repeating my name over and over with a condescending tone. He literally began each sentence saying my name. I ended up saying F it I'm not spending my money with you. I'll look elsewhere the owner was extremely unprofessional & rude. read more

Upon writing my initial review, Matt responded immediately, expressing his concerns and letting me know he had not received my initial email upon our return. I realized it was sent in response to my invoice, so I resent it forwarding the original to Matt's email address. Despite being on vacation (as I later discovered), Matt wanted to better understand my disappointments. I forwarded him video and audio clips. After JP and Matt reached out to me and had an extensive phone conversation with JP, I became convinced of his and Matt's sincerity and empathy for what we and our pets endured. Without skipping a beat, JP made his offer to help make it right by freely and gladly refunding us. This is an excellent example of taking responsibility and willingly accepting accountability for the actions of those representing the company. The final outcome is that my husband and I are pleased with the ethics, integrity, and genuine sincerity of JP from our conversation. We are willing to possibly reconsider using their services. These folks are not very flexible. They don't believe in helping people if there there is an emergency they want you to wait several days. I am going to amend my review because of the following reasons and not because the owner asked me to. I came back from vacation and was sick for about a week plus. The folks at the office worked very hard to get dog walkers twice a day for me. And I know how challenging that was as one person came from Jacksonville to walk my dog in St Augustine. For the most part the walkers were on time and the dog was happy. The walks were for 45 mins. Their walkers really like animals. And they are insured, licensed and bonded which is very important. Pets are like children and you have to find someone you trust to watch them. That being said we had just moved to Jacksonville and five days later we were leaving town for 11 days. Of course I turned to Yelp and found dog days and cat naps. I had issues with the online booking system (I was using my phone while driving from Arizona to Texas) and Sara was great with emailing me instead of using the site. She set me up with Kerri, who arrived a few days later so I could show her the ropes. Kerri was wonderful, instantly I felt that my animals and my home would be safe in her hands. We were out of the country so I told her only a few texts and she did just that. I had an update of my animals well being and peace of mind. I came back to two happy pets and very detailed notes of her visit. It's the little things to me that matter, like it was storming one day so she made sure the animals were okay and not scared, she brought in some mail from the mail box and washed the feeding bowls. I had put a bad review previously on this site due to a bad experience under the previous owner. Imagine my shock when the new owner of the business, JP, contacted me personally and insisted on meeting me with his operations manager to see if he could make things right! We met and JP explained that a lot was changing under his ownership: professional standards, hiring practices, appropriate coverage, etc. were all being reviewed now that he owns the business. His operations manager Matt listened to my concerns and I decided to try DDCN one more time. I was not disappointed. Matt himself cared for my four cats and updated me via email and text twice a day. My cats looked happy, relaxed and well taken care of. JP and Matt both went the extra mile to set my mind at ease. As for other complaints about DDCN not cleaning up etc., I can assure you I am a neat freak and came home to an immaculate, clean and tidy home. My cats were all brushed, relaxed and very happy. Trash taken care of, bowls clean, no food residue or mess anywhere. If you had doubts or had a bad experience months ago under the old owner, PLEASE give JP a call and talk to him. He is committed to excellent service and providing top notch care for your pets. I am not an easy person to convince, but Matt & JP proved to me that things had changed for the better and the proof was in my emails twice each day. Dog sitting FAIL. I was so excited to read the good reviews of this business in the search for pet sitters, but the service I received was less that Professional nor Reliable. I did not receive the reports for half of my 10 day vacation and only received 2 status notifications during my vacation - I had asked for every couple of days; the reports that they gave me suddenly ended after the 5th day (just as the holiday week started) and the day after I got home, I saw my wood floor was a mess of warped boards and poop smears from a dog who had diarrhea (Cleaning is not in their job description). It would have been nice to have been notified that the dog was having problems, Instead the reports only stated the weather and that they had a good walk. Then I had to constantly follow up for a week to get my keys back and then when they were returned - they were placed under my door mat and no one bothered to tell me. If you love your pets, go somewhere else. Becky defends her employees more than her interest in providing good service. Maybe, my experience was a 1 time event, but judging from the photos of my poop on my floor, I doubt it. Keeping your client notified of problems with their pets is good customer service, THAT is why we hire you, to CARE and walk our pets. read more

After just moving to Jacksonville, I had no friends or coworkers to pet sit my two cats for our upcoming 10 day Italy trip. We panicked as we did NOT want to board our cats mostly because boarding=cage for cats; unlike dogs who typically get a small room. After searching I finally found Dog Days Cat Naps and I am so thankful that we used them! The rates are a great price, too! My sitter was Jessica and she came by about 1 month before our trip. I left detailed notes online and when she came by our apartment, she had already read the notes and knew what I was going to say. She said she typically texts on the days she visits, and because we were out of the country, I asked if she could email instead. We had her visit every other day (total 5 times) and each time she emailed at the end of her visit and included 3 pictures of the cats and a short message of how the cats were doing. Our older cat also eats too fast and vomits and I asked if she could at least pick it up and wipe it down with a Clorox wipe as I didn't want to come home to multiple piles of cat vomit. She did and also changed the litter. The online portal is very easy and the office invoices every Monday. You can either pay all at the end of the visits or have each visit auto paid. I would definitely recommend and will be using Jessica again on another trip we have planned! read more

Almost two years ago I started using this service after one of my dogs was attacked at a nice boarding facility. I didn't want that to happen to again. We have been have thrilled with the service. First, and most importantly, our dogs are safe, comfortable in their own home, and cared for while we are gone. It is so convenient not to have to pick them up and drop them off. It is nice to have someone at your house while you are away too. Making reservations is easy and so is payment. I always get quick email responses. Our dogs are rescues from horrible situations, they are anxious and one of them has little bit of fear aggression, so it's hard to leave them. We just had our first experience with Dog Days. Our pet sitter, Renee, is great. She spent a lot of time at our initial consultation making sure she understood our dogs and their needs, which made leaving them so much easier and the trip we took last weekend much more enjoyable. When we got back yesterday, the house looked really nice- which with two rowdy dogs is often not the result after a weekend home "alone." After google/yelp searching, I came across this company - and let me tell you, BEST thing I found for my cat. Lauren was so thorough in explaining the process to me & answering all of my questions. Kelly & Alejandra were the two sitters that took care of my cat while I was out of town. I met with Kelly prior to my vacation, and she showed up to my apartment on time, in uniform, and took thorough notes about everything necessary to make my kitty (and me) happy. Each day I had check-ins via text with photos, and when I got home after a few days, my cat was completely taken care of! I also came home to a log that the sitters filled out -- complete with the dates, times, tasks completed, and a note about my pet's behavior each time they checked in. Payment is easy -- you just pay your invoice online after the sitting is complete.
