To say I'm disappointed would honestly be giving this place too much credit. For a brand-new business, this was an absolute disaster. I spent nearly $60 that could've gone toward a solid meal at any number of sit-down restaurants nearby, only to be served greasy, flavorless food. I'm still trying to figure out how chicken can somehow not taste like chicken. The boba tea was just as bad. The tapioca pearls were so overcooked they dissolved into mush, making it completely undrinkable. I ended up throwing it away as it was undrinkable. In hindsight, I should have taken the hint when the place was empty during its grand opening. Still, I wanted to support a new local spotbut that goodwill quickly disappeared. Beyond the terrible food, the cleanliness was alarming. The "new" tables and chairs looked like they had never been wiped down, as if they'd already seen years of use. There were even dead bugs scattered around the space. It was genuinely unsettling. What pushed this experience from bad to unacceptable was witnessing an employee use the restroom while still wearing black latex food-service gloves--and then return to handling food without changing them. That's not just careless, it's a serious health concern. If I could give zero stars, I would. This place needs immediate attention from health inspectors before anyone else has to deal with this.

This is a great new fast-casual spot for Japanese hibachi, similar to Sarku but with its own unique touch. I ordered the chicken and shrimp with vegetables and white rice, and everything was cooked to order--fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The owner personally took my order and was very friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. They also offer chicken wings with a variety of flavors, which I'm definitely interested in trying on my next visit. For drinks, they have a wide selection, including custom-made smoothies, milk teas, boba teas, as well as fountain and bottled options. Overall, it's a solid spot for a quick, tasty meal, and I'm looking forward to coming back again.

A very similar setup to Quickway or Sarku Japan. I was craving some hibachi and saw this was a new restaurant that opened up nearby. I enjoyed the hibachi chicken (not overly saucy). If there was one thing I have to say stood out it was the shrimp tempura. Ultra crunchy and exactly what you'd want from a fried food! My only critique is I wish there was a bit more protein (there was plenty of rice) but definitely will be adding this to one of my local favorites for a quick meal when I don't want to cook.

    Chicken & Beef

I got the chicken with beef which took a very decent time only 10 minutes. Though the restaurant itself didn't have many people. I feel like there could be more menu specificity and a little less variety. The chicken itself was crisp and so was the beef. I really had an affinity for the sauce that they used. I feel like they could have lowered the rice content a little bit but overall a good bang for your buck meal.

Chicken and beef bento box with fried rice

Flame just opened last week, so first time visiting. Was a bit skeptical on how quality would be given the ambiance when you walk in, however food quality and amount was really great. I got the chicken and beef bento box with fried rice, and it was incredible.

The restaurant…read moreitself is small, but I went for a late lunch around 2pm so didn't have any trouble getting a table. The menu has quite the variety and so many unique options (baked sushi?!). I got the Hawaiian Poke Sushi bowl and the Baked Scallop California roll to share. I'm used to being disappointed by the portions of poke bowls at sit-down restaurants, but this bowl did not disappoint. The bowl had a generous portion of tuna and everything was so fresh. For the scallop roll, there was a large baked scallop on each piece of sushi. I thought having something warm on sushi might be odd, but it was delicious! I'm still thinking about this meal and need to go back soon!

The ambiance is cute and cozy, but a bit stuffy, the person behind me kept hitting my chair lol. The food was mid. I would say I'm a pretty avid sushi eater, this place tries their best, but misses the mark. I enjoyed their appetizers, but actual sushi was bad. The rice is a bit undercooked and has an extra soft texture. It feels a bit too mushy, which feels unnatural. My friend ordered the avocado roll and that was not tasty at all. We asked if we can get it wrote off the bill or returned, but they said "no refund or exchanges!" lol. So we had to take this massive L for the mediocre sushi. That is all; see attached a photo.

After a decade of loyal patronage, our love affair with Kyoto is officially over. This review is a…read morelong time coming. For a local spot charging a steep $80 for a two-person takeout order in 2026, the absolute bare minimum they could do is get the order right. There is a reason Kyoto no longer lists their prices online--they continue to hike them exponentially every year. But while the prices skyrocket, the service has completely tanked. They consistently screw up carry-out orders, even after reading them back to you over the phone. Our experience last Friday night was the final straw: *The Roll Mistake: They forgot our Spicy Girl Roll and charged us for a basic spicy tuna instead. When we asked them to fix it, it took 45 minutes and they tried to charge us full price for their error. They eventually knocked off a measly $8, but it absolutely should have been comped. *The Gyoza Mix-up: We got home to find the gyoza we specifically ordered steamed was fried. *Zero Management: When I called to complain, the high schooler on the phone informed me that no manager was even on duty--on a busy Friday night. If you're going to charge premium prices, you need to deliver accurate service. Kyoto has completely lost its way, and they have lost a decade-long customer. Save your money and go somewhere that actually respects your patronage.
