While we were looking and we found DAM dance studios and scheduled a phone conversation with JP. We immediately liked her and decided to do our first trial session with her. Coming to the dance studio we were very nervous because we are not dancers but JP was so kind and immediately settled our worries. We decided to book 10 lessons with her. Every lesson we did, we learned something new from forming connections, to inside/outside turns, to simple motions, JP was able to teach us everything. Not only that, but she was so kind and patient with us. She took each lesson at our pace and was encouraging us the whole time. By the end of our sessions our confidence grew and we were getting compliments from others about our huge dancing talent improvements. Because we started practicing early (1 year before the wedding) we were really able to space out our lessons and we had time to practice at home. That's something that JP was able to see and would always compliment us on. Our last two lessons focused on really perfecting our first dance and how to just dance during the wedding. I was very nervous about dancing in front of everyone and JP was able to completely ease those worries. Suffice to say we rocked our first dance and people were really impressed. We got compliments about it all night long and even after the wedding. The rest of the night I was out on the dance floor, pulling everyone else out too. Everyone had a blast and we had a full night of dancing. I would highly recommend JP to anyone looking for a dance instructor. She's funny, kind, talented, and an excellent teacher. I finally built up the courage to visit this studio for a Zumba class and my mind is a little fuzzy…read morein my after class exhaustion but that is a good thing. The establishment is located in a plaza that can get busy during peak evening hours, mainly, due to the daycare centers. My suggestion is to always turn right out of the plaza and go to the Parker Rd light during those times. It's less of a headache in the long run. Within the facility, there is an office or two, bathrooms, and a cubby area for belongings. The studio itself is nice. It's a medium-sized room with two walls occupied by full-length mirrors and a window respectively. It's comfortable right now (only referring to Zumba) but I can see the need for an additional Zumba time each day, in the near future, if more bodies show up & decide to become regulars. The class was lead by Keith, the owner of the studio and it was high energy. Keith is engaging, full of stamina, entertaining, and an interactive instructor. He can use an assistant to help him juggle various tasks in between classes (i.e. greeting, punching cards, questions, liability release, etc) but he manages. The playlist was non-stop, the music had great rhythm, beats, and sound (thanks to his new subwoofer:)), and the class was full. The class schedule seems to be organized well, offering one of each class available, at least, once a day including weekends. The class times were recently adjusted but seem to work well for most 9 to 5ers. He also has several trial and/or discount offers out there. I look forward to continuing the Zumba classes lead by Keith and the other instructors and eventually working into the other classes available. The studio is also offering virtual classes now so I'm excited to experience that. Now I'm going to moisten this rattle in my chest & nurse my sore, dancing feet but you can soon look for my cameo in Step Up XIV, thanks to Let's Do This!!!

I have been a regular ever since! Every instructor is knowledgeable not only in the exercise but in the specific muscles being used. They all are supportive, encouraging, will give many different options for the same exercise. They all are fun, kind and each show a real interest in you as a client. Many friendships are made there too. The owner, Helen, also creates fun incentives to get you to push yourself a little more than you might! The instructors all have a background in dance and help every single person with form and function. I e never had something change my body so quickly. I have also tried other facilities that focus on barre, they do a great job as well. I deeply prefer The Ballet Physique. People of all sizes and ages go. There is a rich sense of community. The level of support and camaraderie alone would get me to go. The much loved bonus is the positive changes to our bodies. Even when I ache, I go to barre and then I feel so much better. Rob helped me realize that the soreness and tightness I was feeling (especially after having three kids) wasn't something I just had to live with. His approach is super personal, and even over virtual sessions, he has this ability to notice little movement patterns and imbalances I didn't know existed. The exercises he gives are simple but so effective. And as a mom, I really appreciate how flexible and accommodating he is. He's totally understanding when my schedule gets crazy, and even included my baby in a few sessions during nap strikes. Plus, his voice is so calming--I always end our sessions feeling relaxed and reset. Can't recommend him enough!
