The correct term, used throughout Hawaii, is 'shave ice', although outside Hawaii, many people (including myself till a few years ago!) use the term 'shaveD ice' (although, to be fair, that is literally what it is). Las Vegas has the largest population of Hawaiians outside of Hawaii, and is a popular holiday/vacation destination for many Hawaiians, hence the reason why this city is affectionately known as Hawaii's 'Ninth Island'. There are many flavor combinations and toppings to choose from, but I got the appropriately named 'Ninth Island' and asked for it 'Dirk Style', which includes a scoop of vanilla ice cream hidden in the middle.
