We love hotels on Route 66 because we can park our car right in front of our room beside imaginary of how glorious it was in the old days. This one is a gem. Big room in a safe quiet place with lights on everywhere. Bed is very comfortable. Room are cleaned. Whatever we need they have provided already in the room for us. We will definitely come back whenever we drive across the country again. By the way, I will trade in staying at Flamingo Inn with any big chain hotels without a second thoughts. read more

Decent room at a very fair price. Nothing fancy, just a decent place to sleep and clean up for traveling. Stayed in room 106 on 11-22-2021.  Front desk was fast and friendly and offered me water. Room was good, with a fridge, microwave and coffee. The property had ice.  Shower was hot, but the pressure wasn't great, and the tub ran slow.  The bed and pillows were delicious, and the bed had an actual blanket on it.  Yeah!  I'd like to see the property put a "watch your step" sign on the door ... Well, the old bird may not be the glorious gem she was in her heyday when she was known as the most modern motel in Elk City, but she is comfortable, clean, and a joy to stay at. The gentleman who greeted me on arrival was pleasant and helpful. The room was clean, and the heat worked well and quietly. Got a great night's sleep and woke up just blocks away from the Route 66 museum where I started the day before getting back on the road. read more

What a gem!! While passing through Elk City, Oklahoma on our trip from AZ to Ohio we decided to follow the reviews and stay at the Flamingo Inn. It was a step back in time and brought back childhood memories. We were a late book and a late night arrival, but the the night desk person didn't seem to mind (he was quick and to the point). The room was clean and the bed was comfortable! The price was great too! There is a cool transportation museum within walking distance from the hotel. It was closed while we were there but we enjoyed the Rt. 66 photo op. read more

Please turn on the air conditioning before we arrive. We called ahead and made a reservation. If they know you are coming they should turn on the air conditioning in the room on a day that is nearly 100 degrees. It takes hours to cool off. Other than that this was a really quiet hotel and the owners were really nice people. Everything was clean and the price is reasonable. read more

Came in last night after driving through Amarillo. Checked in at 1:30 am no problem, the room was fantastic, super comfy bed and I was able to fall right to sleep. Huge tv and all the typical amenities. Great water pressure in the shower in the morning to go along with the coffee inside. Almost didn't want to leave and booked another night but I have to continue my trip! These are the hidden gems you search for when searching for places to stay. We stayed here on our way from Phoenix to Illinois as it was the perfect hotel basically smack dab in the middle. We couldn't have been more happy with our experience. We arrived around 8-9pm, just before the Mexican restaurant next door closed. We were able to grab dinner and a beer before settling in to our stay for the night which was convenient! Our room was clean and the beds were pretty comfy!! The showers were hot which was awesome too, perfect after driving for 12 hours! The couple at the front desk were awesome but be prepared to eat before coming here cause they were making Indian food that smelled soo good that it made you wish you could have some. We loved this spot so much that we stayed on our return trip too! The town was super cute too! We ended up grabbing some coffee and ago toast at a cute coffee shop in town called Major Bean - also recommended. There was also a Route 66 museum down the street that we would have checked out if we had more time! Would stay again for sure! ** oh and you can't beat that price either! read more

If you are driving through Elk City on the 40 and need to overnight I highly recommend this motel. Spotless, new tv, microwave, refrigerator coffee pot. New shower curtain and furniture all appears new. The price is great, they are dog friendly, a huge plus for me. There is great streets to walk your pet behind the hotel. There is a Mexican restaurant that makes great food and awesome quick to go service. Plus the ice cream place makes this a no brained to stay here. The owners were very friendly, concerned and helpful. They have lovely plants all around and a cute little outdoor swing. Ps- I saw an earlier review complaining about lack of plugs and computer outlets. Well that is not an issue anymore!! read more

Such a great find on the 66! Rooms were cheaper than most places in town. The owners are super nice and friendly, the rooms are clean and quiet, and the best part? They have rooms with 3 beds!!! Three guys traveling right now and we figured we'd have to get 2 rooms out figure out creative sleeping options (I like to sprawl out at night, so sue me). Despite its' faded sign and silly name, believe it or not, this is one of the nicest motels we have stayed in on our Route 66 trip. And man, have we stayed in some dumps. After a horrible experience in Amarillo, Flamingo Inn is just what we needed. The Flamingo Inn was clean, the owners were very nice, and the rooms all went through a recent renovation. The price was a little higher than most motels--$55 (most dumps cost $40 but this place is WELL WORTH the extra $) and was I surprised when we got into our room. It was almost nicer than the Mirage in Las Vegas. We had a 50 inch flat screen, new mattress, clean sheets, new furniture, a clean microfridge and a clean bathroom. (I also loved how they kept the vintage 1950s pink and black tile. Driving Route 66 that's the kinda thing you love to see.) This is a great Route 66 motel. And there aren't as many as you'd think so take advantage of this. We try and stay away from the monotonous chains. If you are someone who needs a fancy pool, 5 star quality, super fancy marble tiles and so on, what the hell are you doing driving through Elk City? Quit your whining. Flamingo Inn is better than you're gonna get and on our next trip we'll definitely be back. Elk City is also a very cute town to explore. Check out the Route 66 Museum down the street, but just a tip!!!--Whatever you do, don't end up in Oklahoma on a Sunday. Because everything is closed! read more

Ok, so I haven't stayed in a lot of Motels but this place seems pretty darn good. After leaving a job as a flight attendant, you can say that I am quite spoiled in this area so it was hard for me to accept the fact that I was about to open the door to 1) a motel, 2) a place called Flamingo Inn and 3) oh, who knows. I opened the door to a huge room with THREE beds. What motel/hotel has three full size beds in it. In Europe you can find it however, each bed is barely big enough for a child. They were really comfortable too! The bathroom is new, modern and clean. There is a HUGE flat screen tv right there with all of my favorite channels, there's a mini fridge and microwave and a dining table to eat at, even three dressers so if you are staying here with your friends, it would be perfect. I don't know anything about Elk City, Oklahoma so I can't tell you if it's a good location but it was perfect for us. Another great thing is that the price of $75 quoted was it. That included the dog, the tax and any other fee that hotels like to charge. That's how it is in other countries too. There's no advertised rate of $59.99 that turns into $104 after all the fees. There's no pool and no free breakfast, there is an awesome double swing outside, food in walking distance and great beds, which to me outweighs a pool any day. I'm not buying the place although I could stay here for a while. read more

When I saw the room I was SHOCKED! It was shockingly good. Everything was new, and tastefully done. This is the kind of room that should be $100 or more, for half price. Nice mattress. Huge flatscreen. Fast wifi. Hot shower w good pressure. Very clean. Hands down the best value in EC and probably for hundreds of miles around. I tried to find something in amarillo but was so disgusted I vowed to sleep in my car instead. Thanks to God I found this place. Even though I pulled in late the owner was cheerful and friendly. The room was nice and clean. I just stayed for one night passing through with my companion dog. It is nicely lit outside, and the television and cable programming were excellent. Alls I want, usually, is a nice shower, bed and TV, and this provided everything. I wish I had more time to stay in the town, as the route 66 museum up the road looks interesting. Drinking into town, we noticed Elk City was a bird sanctuary, awesome, and felt pretty safe. We looked up the Inn and based on the reviews, decided to check it out. The raking lot was clean and safe and the front desk was helpful and nice. The room was large and comfortable and quite. The manager walked around the parking asking if we needed anything. Traveling from AZ to OH via Route 66. It's little gems like this that really make the trip that much more enjoyable! The wife got us checked in at 10pm at night and was friendly (not to mention the dinner she cooked made the lobby smell delicious!) No problem getting a nonsmoking, dog friendly room. Didn't break the bank. Room 107 was very clean, and I cannot stress how much I appreciate that! Bed was comfy, big screen with lots of channels, fridge, microwave, hairdryer, iron, small coffee pot, desk, good heat/ac, ample parking. Great price and so happy to support a nice family, rather than some big hotel chain. This is what Route 66 is all about! We will definitely get a room on our way back in a week. Note to dog owners.. there isn't much grass around for potty breaks so plan accordingly if your dog needs grass to go. (And note to all travelers, regardless of hotel/motel.. stop letting your room doors slam, especially early morning when other people are sleeping) read more

My husband and I stayed the night while passing through and visiting the Washita Battlefield. We chose this hotel based on good reviews and the price ($45)! We were greeted upon arrival and offered cold bottles of water. When we arrived to our room, the A/C and fridge were turned off so it as a little warm, but it cooled off quick. The room was clean and comfortable with a huge big screen TV. There were only two small pillows on our queen bed so we asked for a couple more pillows...those were delivered promptly and were super big and nice. We couldn't seem to get a lot of ice out of the communal ice maker. I'd definitely recommend this motel! read more

I can't compare this motel to high-end hotels and motels. It is basic, but for the price it is outstanding. It is as clean as any motel, more convenient than most (I parked my car ten feet from the door of my room), and the rooms are large enough. I paid 1/2 of what I paid the following night at a Holiday Inn Express for roughly the same room. The staff is friendly, the location is convenient, and the room is a bargain. read more

I made the reservation online for an evening check in while we were traveling through. I had no reason to worry after I got my confirmation...my check in time was going to be around 7 or 8 but again, I was not under the impression it was going to be an issue. When we arrived, no one was at the office and the door was locked, lights off. I called the number on my confirmation and did not get an answer. Another customer was there with me and was also confused about if they were open. I ended up driving down the road to check with another business to see if they knew if they were generally open; I proceeded to call again and someone finally answered. When I returned, the office was open the manager was there. The customer who was with me was being waited on. When I checked in, I asked about the office being closed and was given some excuse but it looked to me that the manager was there the whole time (there was a connected apartment to the office) but maybe was asleep or was unavailable, without leaving any kind of note or message. The manager offered no apology and did not honor the rate I was quoted when I made the reservation online (even after showing my printed confirmation). It was just a bad way to end my evening after driving all day. At that point I didn't care, I just wanted a bed! The room was suitable and accommodated my kids and I for the evening, which is pretty much all I needed. Depending on my route, I may travel through there again but I'm on the fence about staying. read more

Very satisfied. For $65, this family of four found this little gem in this little city. Small, but met our needs for a place to lay our heads after a long day on the road. No frills. Mexican restaurant at front of parking lot with good Margaritas. We sat on the two porch swings out front and watched a beautiful Oklahoma storm roll inn with lots of lightening lighting up the sky. Old motel/inn that has been renovated on the outside. Rooms need to be refurbished with new furniture and outlets for computers, chargers etc. Nice big screen TV and free wifi. We were passing through and viewed other reviews on TripAdvisor about this Inn. Found it easily and decided to spend the night. Bed was good, clean sheets, refrig, microwave, ice, wster, good shower, clean towels, parking outside our door, and plenty of room for the two of us. Glad we did stay. What else do you need? There was a nice recliner, ottoman and another living room-type chair. The king bed was sooo comfortable and clean. The price was good. I have stayed here a few times. It is not a five star place but they don't charge five star prices either. I paid 50 bucks a night. It has a fridge and microwave. Grounds are kept clean. Rooms are fairly clean, flat screen is big and gets a lot of channels, ac works fine, and NO BUGS. I will stay again when passing through Elk City. read more
