Both were clean and comfortable. There are gorgeous wood floors throughout. It's actually an old storefront they built a 3-room Inn inside. Each room has a private bath, TV, fridge, and coffee maker. The beds are comfortable and there is free Wi-Fi. The bathrooms are fair size with showers. You cannot hear your neighbors as the last night we were there all 3 rooms were occupied. There's also a quiet lounge area in the front. The facility is coded entry. I highly recommend this place to stay at if you're in or near Elk City. You do need to book online in advance though if you want to stay here and I recommend booking through their website directly instead of a 3rd party site.

Traffic drives quality, and low traffic is usually met with an appropriate level of accommodations. Kim's Cottage is a diamond in the rough: old school downtown main drag, commercial storefront, repurposed with quaint, homey cottage style dwellings inside. Adorned with antique bedding, bedside-bench & credenza, my cottage (#1) had unique charm with vintage touch. While I didn't partake in the amenity, my room featured a decent jacuzzi tub as well. Where the Best Western down the road may offer a continental breakfast, Kim's Cottage had a lovely spread of cereal and breakfast bars, generously available for consumption in my room, on-demand, day or night. I truly appreciate the accommodation! The bathroom was clean and again, featured homey details. Just felt "more friendly" than a cold hotel room. Fresh towels, actual shampoo & body wash I'd want to use, and even a stash of fresh q-tips. I found Kim's Cottage courtesy of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, while shopping for a hotel for a pending business trip and couldn't be happier with the recommendation. Weather had been bad all the way up from Texas and back and we'd been booking last minute cheapest rooms, but I wanted his last night on the road to be special because it had been such an arduous trip. He really liked it but felt it was too "frilly" for his comfort. He's kind of a bull in the china shop type guy. But he went on and on about how much I would have loved it, and how fun it was that the suites were built as separate cottages inside of the historic building. The hosts were very nice. And he loved the hot tub and didn't want to leave it. He said there was also a performance theatre next door, also owned by Kim's family. All in all, well worth it to stop and stay at Kim's.

We first were told that our room will be ready an hour earlier then expected and then we were greeted by this beautifully outgoing and welcoming person. Her Name was Colleen and she is the owner of the bed and breakfast. She quickly told us where to park and exactly how to enjoy the amenities of her property. The coyote den where we stayed was more like a studio apartment. I would say it's cozy with 6 and yes the bedroom was open to the living room. There was one bed, one pull out couch, and one long couch to sleep on. She did say that she will be updating the place more and more. She even offered her couch as additional sleeping. It's a very welcoming and homey atmosphere with snacks at the table and even 2 beers in the fridge to start off. If you are younger and enjoy drinking and hanging she is more then welcome to join and have a great time. She even brought out one of her favorite bottles of scotch from Scotland. She told us of amazing trails around the wildlife refuge and even about a music festival that was going on in the city center. We cooked out on the propane grill she provided and she even had a charcoal grill as well. The breakfast she prepared for us was amazing! I could not rave about this more. She brought out normal coffee but also French press coffee. She had eggs scrambled with hatch chiles from New Mexico, biscuits and gravy, prickly pear jam, rhubarb jam (both made fresh from her garden), and bacon.
