Everything from the pull-out bed in the couch, to the the kitchenette, the queen bed, and the very small bathroom area was clean. Our Beachfront Queen Suite room for 1 adult and 2 children came out to $526.52. PROS The views of the Gulf, the friendly staff, the short walks to the beach, a cafe with a full bar downstairs that offers all three meals, and the existence of an outdoor pool were my favorite things. The overall property was clean and trash-free. No rowdy neighbors. It was peaceful both nights even with the restaurant directly below us. I was able to back my Jeep into the same parking spot each time even when the cafe was packed. CONS Our door did not possess the tight-fitting seal I wish it had. Ants on the balcony, crawling up the main entry door. Water bugs in the bathroom on the second night. Pool filters were not working. Worn-out boardwalk and decks. The place could use some maintenance and fixing up and bug control, but overall I was happy and felt safe. My girls were happy.

It was refunded after I spoke to the manager but with no apologies. And actually, she only refunded me the $2. I had to request the .50. By this time it's was just the point of the matter. But DO take advantage of the food and drink "all inclusive" offer. It's a great deal!

There's one bartender in particular who seems to always be working when we visit, and he's consistently attentive, friendly, and makes the experience that much better. I mean rotten wood, mold, peeled paint, nasty smells. Dirty common areas that were filthy the whole time we were there. The room had stuff all over the floors that hadn't been cleaned from the prior guests. When you are there, don't plan to sleep. They have nightly live music that is incredibly loud, and there is no part of the property that you can't hear it. People are drunk and yelling and screaming till 2-3am every night. No amount of ear plugs can enable sleep. Any questions of staff are met with disdain. The food is disgusting and I literally threw up from it the last night we were there. Drinks are the worst I've ever had. Didn't even bother to blend the Mudslide that I ordered. Keep in mind, that I like Waffle House, so for me to call this place terrible, it's legitimately terrible. Oh, and the TV stored my AppleTV login info, even though I fully logged out, and I find out yesterday that someone has rented $180 of movies this week that I am now having to fight.

However, there were three holes in the shower, along with mold growing at the top of the shower on the ceiling. On approximately the third night, I lifted a washcloth and a big eyelash fell out of it--which definitely didn't belong to anyone in my family. Then, on the last night around 1 a.m., there was loud screaming, yelling, and banging. It sounded like parents talking very loudly and kids running up and down the halls, just screaming. It went on for a good 30 minutes and woke up my entire family. My dad called the front desk, but I don't think anyone actually came up, because the noise continued for another 15 minutes after the call. Overall, the stay wasn't that bad--you honestly get what you pay for. It was nice that we could just walk to the beach, but we probably won't be coming back.

On July 5 2026 , we had 19 charges on our credit card that we were not aware of. This was the only place we used this card. I made a police report to South Padre police Department. Lina Trevino, the Property manager told me they have cameras but she could not check them to see who took the information without permission from the General Manager, Veronica Galviz. I called and talked to the Assistant Manger Janeth Quintero, and she gave me the same runaround. Veronica Galviz is supposedly off until this next Friday but I can leave a message for her. These people are committing fraud and don't care about their customers. Look at the schedule and find out who was working. Look over the video footage on the security cameras. Lina Trevino assured me that she was the only one with access to the credit card information. But she doesn't know if she checked my wife in or not. On top of all of this our room stunk. Paint on the walls was bubbled up. It was old and out of date. Sand and moisture all over everything. We got locked out of our room once and had to get the combination refreshed on our door. There is barely any parking. There was a welcome basket on the table that had a melted old Hershey bar and some old out of date drinks. We didn't touch them. The rooms were disgusting. The TV quit working on day 2. Only one ceiling fan half way worked. We paid over $1000 for the time we were here and it was not worth it.

This trip was on our bucket list because we had heard so many great things, but the reality did not live up to the brand's name. The Check-In Disaster Before booking, I contacted the resort to request an early check-in since we were driving from far out of town for just a one-night stay. I was told, "Rest assured, early check-in is available for a fee," which I gladly agreed to. We arrived on Saturday around 1:00 PM, and were given a key to the "last available room." When we walked into the room, there was a naked man inside. Shocked, we went straight back to the front desk. Instead of an apology, the clerk gave me an attitude and snapped that check-in wasn't until 4:00 PM. I explained that we had a pre-approved early check-in so we could change and enjoy the pool and beach, but she simply told us no rooms were available because they had given them to other guests first. Broken Promises & Poor Amenities While we were waiting at the resort restaurant to grab a bite to eat, a manager called to let us know a room was ready. To make up for the naked stranger incident, he promised us a free dinner. Unfortunately, that free dinner never happened--it was an empty promise. When we finally got into a room, it was sufficient, but the rest of the property was highly underwhelming: The Hotel Cleanliness: The entire property was very dirty. The bathrooms looked like they hadn't been deep-cleaned in ages. The Atmosphere & Drinks: The pools were overrun with kids who showed zero respect for older guests, and the drinks at the bar were sub-par. The EV Charger Situation: No one polices the EV charging stations. Despite clear signs stating "No Overnight Parking," people leave their cars parked there indefinitely, completely blocking anyone else from having the opportunity to charge their vehicles. Final Verdict We will never return to this location. Aside from our terrible customer service experience, South Padre Island is just too far of a drive from San Antonio for what you actually get. If you want a beach weekend, you are much better off driving to Galveston. You will get the exact same environment, but with far more options and better service.

Daughter, son in law and grandkids had a 5th floor balcony, which they thoroughly enjoyed. My husband I and dog Lucy had a 1st floor room close to the pool and a short walk to the beach. By the time we left after a week everyone knew who Lucy was (she's a really good dog). Sat out each morning and watched the sun come up and the people walk by. We walked our miles (oh so humid) every morning. She loved getting to splash in the ocean! Eli at the small bar (?) was great for late night drinks. Made a great espresso martini and Manhattan! All of the personnel were very helpful. I appreciated the good service at the quick coffee area near the front with good food choices. Will stay here again.

They are also pet friendly. This is a family owned spot so don't expect the Marriott. But at the same time you get a pretty full kitchenette equipped with cups, silverware, plates and sink as well as the usual fridge and microwave. There was plenty of parking. If you can't find parking, there is another lot across the street. This spot is clean, welcoming and a perfect view. I will definitely return. The staff made me feel right at home.

So I would stay here again, but hopefully the elevators are working. I stayed here last year and they had only had one elevator working. So next time I stay, I would have to ask if the second elevator is working because it is a little hassle when you're carrying your stuff.
