Vanessa is the rudest owner. She has no people skills. I took my daughter here for a day date after my daughter had been bullied all day. It was awful because the owners lack of kindness. I've been coming here the last few months to give Vanessa the benefit of the doubt. I thought maybe she just had a bad day but it's just the way she is to others. The energy is hostile in this salon. She also treats her employees poorly. Every time I'm there she's micromanaging and being petty to them. I don't support that. Kindness should always be the first thing anyone gives anyone. I will never come here again. However, the kind young girl that did my daughters pedicure was lovely. Jaritza. She was so sweet and kind. I won't be coming here again due to the owner. I'm so disappointed and angered at this location. In the past they've done an amazing job. Now, I understand that the references I show won't be exact and I'm not expecting them to be. I went with my mom to this location and she finished before me. The lady who did my design was rushing because my mom was waiting and did such a sloppy job. They have a "7-day guarantee policy" and didn't keep their word. Even if the gel wasn't ruined the quality of it was terrible. I paid $60 for it to look like this. It's like they didn't even try. Also, when I texted them as you can see, they said I WAS the one being "mean" and refused to redo my nails after I asked them. If they can't take criticism then why on earth did you go into this job ?!? If you have any kind of design on the nails you desire DO NOT GO HERE. I asked for chrome and didn't realize it would be $15 extra for gel polish (normal) PLUS $18 for him to rub chrome powder on top. I did like my pedicure though! Such a joke! Apparently Vanessa is the owner. I will say it now and over and over again. It's your business- so of course it's your choice of prices. ** THATS NOT THE PROBLEM! ** The problem with Flamingo Nails is NOT their price. Charge whatever the hell you want. But if you're going to be charging that much MAKE SURE YOUR SERVICE MATCHES YOUR PRICE. You're charging for a LV purse and delivering purse from WISH. ‍ The fact that a full set costs as much as it does here at Flamingo nails and Henry or whatever his name was (I'm sure they lie about their names too) literally just walked away when my sister asked him to change the nail color is UNPROFESSIONAL. The fact that he went and sat clear on the other side and had a full on conversation (y'all know how those go @ the nail salons- once you request for a change they go all out speaking in their language while everyone glances at you- I know what y'all know what I'm talking about) Anyway my sisters nail tech goes and sits there and when I did ask him if he's gonna finish her nails he threw his hands up from the pedicure chair and says "That's what she wanted!" What in the hell right? That's when Vanessa (if that's even her real name), the owner comes and tries to fix it. Again- SHE DIDNT FIX anything. The problem with Vanessa was she lied. She completely lied and said it was IMPOSSIBLE to change the nail color because.......wait for it................... IT WAS TOO MUCH WORK! I have friends who are nail techs and in that industry- it is more work but the right thing to do would be to inform me of the cost (if there was one) to change or fix it and then if I accept it than do the damn job. Personally I wouldn't want someone sitting in my chair to walk away unhappy with the service I provided. I wouldn't feel good or honest as a person. On top of that, that is horrible business. I've been working in the customer service business for 15 years so don't come at me with your horrible overpriced service like that & expect me just to take that kind of treatment I will say this again- although the prices were ridiculous that wasn't the problem. The way "Henry" went about it as well as the way "Vanessa" being the owner handled it disappointed me. CHANGE YOUR WAYS Flamingo because the way you treated us and handled the entire situation, I promise I will make a review everywhere and make it known to anyone I come in contact with to avoid your salon because how horrible our experience was. In the end- there was never even an apology. No matter the situation, right or wrong, people appreciate an apology. And never once did Vanessa or Henry apologize. I'm in Utah visiting from CA. Everyone here is really nice and welcoming. I took my niece (6) to get a mani/pedi and they did a good job with her nails! Her mom got a pedi and dip on her natural nails and they looked great! I got a pedi and full set dip. I asked for square/oval shape. The pedi was good but the dip was eh... first I'll say the guy doing them was very friendly but not everyone can do dip. My nails were crooked and at one point he accidentally chipped the 3 layers of dip he did. I mentioned they were crooked and the woman that did my friends nails said she'd fix them. She did fix them but the nails on my right hand are noticeably shorter and a different shape than my left hand. I probably wouldn't go again, but my friend and niece loved it so I gave it 4 stars. read more

They were rushing and looked annoyed but once they were done, I went home and I didn't like them but I just said it's fine but then the next day I saw that the flower on my nail came off so I went back to the nail salon. Asking if they can fix it they did, but they were in a rush, and looked very annoyed after they were done they didn't do a good job and I asked them if they could file it down because it looked globy. She started filing it down and cut my finger. She looked annoyed. and just put nail glue on it. I didn't like the job, that they did. They did it uneven and you could just tell that they were annoyed and very mad. I have been going to Flamingo Nails for a while now. I get a full set of Acrylics on my nails and then will get them filled every three weeks or so. I am super hard on my nails, but they always look great. I also get pedicures and have never been disappointed. The shop is always clean and the staff is friendly. I'm deeply disappointed with the Flamingo Nail Salon owner. This used to be my favorite salon. The technicians are great, but during my second to last visit on 5/22, I was overcharged $15 for a hard gel fill, paying a total of $67 instead of the usual $52. Upon my return on 6/3 I confirmed the prices of $52 and indicated that I had been overcharged on my last visit. I was informed on this visit that it is not the first time the technician has had to deal with overcharging of customers. The technician could not do anything to help me, but told me to keep my receipts and speak to the owner on my next visit. Today, on 6/15, I spoke to the owner who dismissed my concern, claiming it happened "months ago, and there was nothing they would do about it" and refused to rectify the situation. It's disheartening to be overcharged and then treated so poorly as a loyal customer. I left w/o getting my nails done. I refuse to spend more money at an establishment that will steal from their customers and not correct it. I will not be returning and advise others to double-check their charges before leaving. read more

Had the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon in my life! Tried to get a manicure from this place--I usually go to a nail salon in downtown Salt Lake City (live and learn). The owner showed a very thinly-veiled air of disgust when she saw two men walk into her business and was not having any of it. She made some lame excuse that she couldn't have one of her male employees work on a man, but couldn't explain why. Really? Would my pixie dust make him queer? So...all those women your gals are working on...are all your female workers batting for the other team now? Sheesh. In 2021. One might expect something a mite bit less medieval. read more

tl;dr: the young women who work here deserve better, and the overall experience was pretty disappointing. I came here late one afternoon this week. The younger women who work here are super nice, but the older woman who seems to run the salon kept chastising them and having them put away nail polish, folding towels, etc. instead of starting on manicures and pedicures for people. The older woman also derogatorily said to one of the younger women, "Can you read? You're putting the nail polish away wrong. You need to be able to read." That really made me feel bad for the young woman who seemed so sweet and like she was doing a great job. I had also asked for a full set, but they told me I could only get one service. I'd understand that if I came in super late, but I came around 4:00, and they close at 7:30. I've never gone to a nail place where they only let you do one service per visit. The place seems relatively nice and clean, and again, the younger women who work here seem great, but beyond that, it's nothing to write home about. For their prices, I'd expect better (a basic pedicure starts at $35, and they go up to $75, I think). Overall, I was pretty disappointed. Next time, I'll go elsewhere. Hope the sweet younger women that work here go elsewhere too. They deserve better. read more
