The spicy remoulade complimented the shrimp perfectly and the curly fries were spot on. I also added a side of coleslaw, which was super fresh and had a nice crunch. The last time I went to a Flanigan's I ended up with food poisoning and vowed to never return again... after years of passing up, I decided to accompany my family and actually had a good experience at the Tamarac/North Lauderdale location. We sat by the bar and the waitress Evelyn was attentive. Our food was really good, big portions and flavorful, the drinks were on point as well. I tried the blue margarita (can't remember the exact name of the drink) for the first time and it was really good. Every time I come here to Flanagans I order the joes meal deal. It includes garlic bread, a salad, ribs, and fries and it brings a drink as well. However this deal is only available from Sunday- Thursday only. There is a good lunch special during the week as well. I highly recommend to come on Monday because you buy a pitcher of beer or soda and you get a free nachos. This place always has really cool music playing in the background. We are regulars at this location and I don't know what has happened lately or who is managing this store, but it has gone downhill tremendously. I use to love the food, now the quality is poor- things come out burnt and not as ordered. The ticket time on food takes forever, and they do try to make up for it by offering a round of drinks but lately this has become the norm. I sent this letter to corporate, no answer. Sent it on their Facebook page, no answer. So, maybe they will pay attention on Yelp. I wanted to let you know about our unusual experience last night. My sister drove in from Port St. Lucie to spend some time with our dying grandmother. We left her with the aide to take our Mom out for a quick dinner. Fernando was our waiter. He seemed conscious, repeating the order back to us. But there were 4 of us, my husband and i sharing a meal, and he brought 3 setups. OK, so we shared the fork, not a big deal. Then my sister didn't get her salad. It took almost 10 minutes for her salad to arrive. When we were ordering originally, we told Fernando we had a to-go order. He advised us to put it in when we got the food so it wouldn't get cold. So that's what we did. He again repeated the order back to us. When we finally got the bill, we tried to use the promotional gift card. We were unaware that there was an expiration date on it. We had given Fernando that and our credit cards for the leftover amount. He came back and told us that the gift card had a zero balance. He offered to get us a manager to see if there was anything they could do. We asked him to do that and clearly told him NOT to run the cards until we spoke with him. We also asked about the to-go order. He forgot to put it in. Things happen, but he asked if we wanted him to put it in, we said no, as it was now 9:00 and my sister had a long drive, and my Mom had to get back to my Grandmother. He asked if we were sure, we said yes, he walked away. The one thing missing from this interaction was an apology. The mistake is excusable, it happens. Not owning up to it is not. The manager came over and offered us 20% off the bill to compensate for the gift card. We gratefully accepted that. Right after that, Fernando came back with our credit card slips. We told him he shouldn't have run them, since we were waiting to talk to the manager. He said he would send the manager back over. 15 minutes later, we asked someone else to send the manager over. The manager proceeded to tell us that he took the 20% off and since the final bill hadn't been signed, it was amended on their end. That made NO sense, since it's my understanding, the credit card company will honor whatever we write as the final total. So he brought us back a new check, with the 20% off showing, ran our cards again and voided out the first transaction. So again, his answer didn't make sense. We have been to Flanigan's more times than I care to count. We have had some small things come up here and there and we have never contacted you. This, however, was just unacceptable. We needed to find an alternative for our child's dinner at 9:30 at night and waited almost 25 minutes for the bill to be corrected. For all that to happen without much of an apology is just unacceptable. The manager said he would speak to Fernando, but who knows. Rachel, the General Manager, is Emotionally immature and unable to handle the hustle and bustle without being nasty. The service has always been the regular midway service you'd expect from a bar/grill. However, this Flanigan's has THE WORST SERVICE I have ever experienced. One night, two weeks ago, my husband and I went out for date night and went in to the lobby area. The hostess seemed flustered and after a few people piled up she randomly picked people to ask if they are dining in. I spoke up and stated the order that we all arrived. They placed us on the list and sent me a text. There were so many people standing in the hostess area for dining in and takeout that we went to sit right outside the door on the bench. Several times people came outside the door to call names. After 10 minutes, the door swung open and no one was in the hostess area. So we went inside and noted that everyone who came after us were all seated at tables. When the hostess came back, I asked if the text messaging system worked, she ignored me and the manager, Rachel, who magically showed up asked if we were dining in or taking out. My husband explained that we were awaiting a text to be seated. Rachel asked if we "wanted to sit down or not". I was so surprised that I looked at her and explained the issues. Her response was "do you want to be seated or not". I asked to speak to the manager and she replied that she is the general manager and if we would just sit down then we could have already ordered so do we want to sit down or not. I explained, in disbelief, that she is dismissing me and being rude. She said she won't be taking this abuse, yelled F$#@K YOU, while walking in to the dining room and called security. Well at that point we decided that we do not want to pay for the service at that location and left the lobby and was in the parking lot when 5-7 men RAN out of the restaurant and stood in the parking lot telling us to come and talk to them. We went back to the group and explained that Rachel was unhinged. Once we said Rachel, 5 of the men said, "oh Rachel " and walked back in. The other two stated that sometimes the message system goes offline and does not work, apologized, and told us to have a nice night. I love Flanigan's! I have a million to go Green and Pink cups and lids in my cupboard. I love to mix my pasta with their Cesar salad. I never thought to even put bacon on until I went to Flanigan's for the first time in 2008. We went there for lunch on Saint Patrick's day. The service was terrible. My friend wanted a corned beef sandwich, they had no rye bread. She.asked.what bread they had and she responded let me check. She came back 5 minutes later and said they had rolls. My friend ordered a corned beef sandwich on a roll. 10 minutes later she came back and said, "No sandwich hes, only the full meal." So she ordered the corned beef, cabbage, and potato meal. It came with the roll (which she was charged for. Then she was told that she was lucky ky...hers was thr last corned beef meal. How do you run out if corned beef on SPD? We were a party of 3, arrived at 1:22 and left at 4:58. People seated after us were leaving and we hadn't gotten 2 dry orders of ribs and 1 corned beef and cabbage. Never once did she offer to refill our drinks. Terrible service. Check your to-go order before you leave to make sure they give you what you actually order!! Manager Andy is shady AF, avoids dealing with the customers, & should not be in management! After visiting the Miramar location & having a great experience just 3 hours before, other family had a craving for Flanigans also so I ordered online through Yelp to pick up our order before they closed. We arrived a half hour before closing. While they checked on our order, we were able to catch the last minute of game 2 of the NBA finals Miami vs Denver to see Miami's victory - everyone inside cheered & was happy. The hostesses/girls at the podium were great & extremely helpful. While waiting, the hubs added a dessert to our order. However, there was a problem with my original order. I was charged $5.99 for garlic rolls but was given a single sesame hamburger bun drenched with garlic butter & cut in half. If I hadn't checked my order while there, they would've never told me that they ran out of garlic rolls & tried to pass off a hamburger bun with garlic butter instead - that's shady AF! The hostess said that they had ran out of garlic rolls & couldn't refund it because I had paid online, but the manager didn't want to let us know - so we ended up with that bun. This was unacceptable so now I had to talk to this manager. When I questioned the manager Andy, his only remedy was to add more hamburger buns with garlic butter to my 'order'. WTF?! NOTE: I had also ordered 20 wings but did not receive celery sticks & Bleu cheese dressing with it. I told him that there wasn't an option for such when I ordered online through the Yelp app - he ARGUED with me that it is possible because people have done it before. (Note: I had ordered a 10 piece wings in person at the Miramar location just 3 hours before, and the celery sticks & blue cheese were included, but apparently not with a larger order and/or if ordered online??? Make it make sense). The hostess later told me that, when ordering online, it doesn't give you an option to add it to the wings; instead you have to Separately go to Side Orders an add it from there. Corporate needs to fix their app, & to train employees to be consistent: either include celery sticks & Bleu cheese with wings order, or don't. I wanted the celery sticks & Bleu cheese, and was only willing to accept the poor-excuse for garlic rolls because it was the only item a family member could eat because it was soft. So, I asked Andy if he could give us the celery sticks & Bleu cheese then call it even for trying to pass a hamburger bun off as garlic rolls - he refused, said he couldn't because he had to ring up the celery sticks, and even told me that the hamburger bun is actually more expensive. As manager, I told him he does have the ability to make it right & do it - but he refused. Another customer waiting for his order over heard our conversation, asked the Manager why he didn't just refund me (I hadn't asked but was considering it) - Andy's response was because it would take a few days to credit back to my card. I'm sure what he wanted to say was that he didn't want to be bothered to process a refund. Ultimately, I accepted the hamburger buns with garlic butter (remember, I had that family member that could only eat something soft - and it was late, almost closing time 11p on a Sunday). AND grudgingly paid $2.11 in cash for 3 celery sticks, 4 carrot sticks, and 1 small container of Bleu cheese dressing (how was that going to be enough for a 20 wing order? I should've asked how many was included in a side order - but more importantly, why was it not included for a to-go order like it was at the Miramar location, or like it would be had we dined inside? Also, Andy admitted that the hamburger buns were more expensive than garlic rolls). We refused the dessert order because that was another rip off (see picture & caption) - so Andy had to use his manager card after all to cancel it in the system. I am undecided which is worse: (1) getting ripped off for the hamburger bun instead of garlic rolls, cheated out of celery sticks & Bleu cheese then having to pay $2.11 for such, or (2) dealing with Andy and his lack of management/customer service - they were all equally upsetting. Andy could've remedied the situation by comping $2.11 & providing celery sticks & Bleu cheese (that would've been included anyway had we dined in), but instead he refused, so here we are. Andy isn't very smart, & shouldn't be in management if the hostesses have more backbone than he does to inform the customer of a problem. Flanigans corporate needs to do better. I would've walked into the corporate office off of Commercial & 18th Ave to formally complain had we not left FL the next day. We have been frequenting this Flanigan's for five years. They have hands down the best burgers, ribeye, and prime rib. The ambiance is that of a seafood restaurant, though they do not sell any crustaceans. They do sell great fish and shellfish. The staff is very friendly, especially Ahmari and Veronica. My only complaint with Flanigan's is that their menu NEVER changes, but what they do have on the menu, they do consistently well. read more
