    Smash burger
    Steven W.

So we decided to scurry on up to Pompano Beach for an adventure and decided to do lunch at The Vault. I'm told that it's an old bank building and found it to be open and bright. There's a busy bar and the tables are in the front, adjacent to the bar and in the back. Our four top was too close to the very noisy kitchen, which the day we were there, seemed to have a few loud mishaps that were jarring. Other than that, service was hit and miss but we weren't in a hurry. To the food: three out of four of us ordered the well reviewed smash burgers. Not a complaint from anyone. Very good they reported. The accompanying french fried potatoes got mixed reviews. Fresh cut and covered in some sort of whatever, we thought that they would be better plain. Me being the outlier, I chose the mahi plate which came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The fish was prepared perfectly, moist and delicious. The sides were okay. About that broccoli: The Vault does love it. There was broccoli cheddar soup, a smashed broccoli cheese appetizer and the only side dish was...broccoli! I did notice that the bar was packed on the day we went (Saturday). Day drinkers having fun. We had a nice leisurely lunch at The Vault.

We had our first but not our last dining experience at the Vault. Met friends half way who drive from Aventura. The food and the service were excellent. Ryan is a terrific bartender and Camile is an attentive server.

Amazing! I was looking for a place to grab a quick dinner with friends and the menu looked like it had a good variety. When we arrived we were seated promptly. This was Sunday evening around 6pm. I imagine at other times there would be a wait because it was not a very large restaurant. The building has cool architecture and a unique story described on the menu. All of their appetizers come in two sizes, small and large, so they are great for sharing. We started with the smashed broccoli which was made with cheese and breadcrumbs and served with ranch dressing. For my meal, I had the smash burger which was flavorful. My husband had the King of the Glades chicken parm sandwich with added ricotta and he said it was delicious. We also got some deviled eggs and mac and cheese for the table. Every item was served, fast, fresh, and flavorful. We were so hungry I forgot to take pictures! However I did get a picture of the most important thing, dessert! The bread pudding was the best ever and served warm. It was a huge portion and we got it with a side of ice cream. I would most definitely go back to the Vault for dinner and drinks.

This was delicious and a great way to celebrate my six months of sobriety! I love the decorations and the ambience as well.

We sat outside in their large alleyway area on a beautiful evening. We caught happy hour (5-7 pm) Drink specials for HH, no food. I had a cocktail made with gin, elderflower and prosecco. We had the buffalo chicken egg rolls, which were delicious and the grilled shrimp.

The Vault is one of Pompano Beach's most unique dining spots -- a beautifully restored historic bank turned into a stylish restaurant with incredible food. We came for HH before it got too busy. We loved everything from the seafood gumbo, grilled shrimp, crispy smashed broccoli, to the shrimp cakes, award-winning smashburger, and the perfectly crafted Chocolate Old Fashioned. The seafood dishes were fresh and flavorful, and the bread pudding was the perfect finish. I also appreciate that they have 2 options for small plates: shareable or solo. I can try a bunch of things this way. Service from Gilberto was warm and attentive. A must‑visit in Old Town for great food, great cocktails, and a true sense of local history.

Friday night crowd. Service was excellent. Sat at the bar and only ordered appetizers. The short ribs egg rolls were stuffed. The seasoning kind of threw it off mark. The brazen hot honey tips were dry very tough to eat. The Rangoons was probably the best of the 3. Will try other items next time.

Very cute place . Bartender was super nice. Since it was our first time he told us the history of the restaurant. Tuesday they have smash burgers for $12 . Service was good . Need to come back and try some of the their stuff this time it was only a drink and burger

It has nice atmosphere and it's easy to have a conversation. There is Free parking next to the restaurant. There is a large bar. Staff was great. The menu is a mix of small and large plates. Everything tasted fresh. The Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. The short rib was tender and not fatty. It was served over delicious potatoes. The bacon wrapped green beans with balsamic were also delicious. The smashed broccoli was more like a pancake made with Parmesan cheese. I didn't see any broccoli in my portion of the dish. I wouldn't order this again The wings were good, but there was nothing unique about them. The espresso martini was served in a beautiful glass. It wasn't filled to the top. It was not a creamy martini. The warm bread pudding for $8 was delicious. I do wish it was served a la mode. They comped my dessert since it was my birthday. It would have been nice if they added a candle to it since they knew it was my birthday. The restaurant seemed like it should have cloth napkins instead of paper.

The Vault in Pompano leans into its name with a cool, historic-inspired atmosphere that actually feels intentional, not gimmicky. It has that old-meets-modern vibe that makes it stand out right away. The food definitely holds up to the setting. The chicken wings were the highlight fall-off-the-bone tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Easily some of the better wings I've had. The egg rolls were crispy with a rich filling, and the mac and cheese was creamy and satisfying without being too heavy. Drinks were well-made, and the overall experience felt polished but still relaxed. It's one of those spots where the ambiance and food actually match, which is rarer than it should be. Definitely worth checking out.

The Vault lives up to its name, a hidden treasure located in the historical First Bank building. I consider myself an amateur historian and knowing the historical significance of the Vault building added charm to the dinner experience. The restaurant is cozy and most patrons were huddled by the bar area which added to the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. The service at the Vault is great! The staff take pride in the food and their enthusiasm to provide great service shines through. I stared with the Bees Knees cocktail which I would describe as having a spicy sugar cane taste as the hot honey and spiciness is alway present. The Flapper's Fizz gin IMHO is the perfect summer cocktail, a berry delight that is also super refreshing. For dinner I went with the award winning First Bank Smash Burger the burger was perfect, gruyere, caramelized onions, mushrooms and a burger that was cooked to perfection. I ended the meal with the Pineapple Upside down cake which was also stellar the warm spices used in the cake accented the moistness of the cake perfectly. The Vault is open and you don't need a key to get in. The Vault Restaurant is one of those hidden special restaurants in Pompano Beach that revitalizes the community. All patrons would agree that The Vault is a special restaurant that has an added element of historical charm. I hope you enjoy Vault too!

We chose to sit inside because of the heat, although the outdoor seating area looked beautiful as well. When we arrived, the restaurant was still pretty quiet, and we were seated right away. For brunch, they offer either a $49 brunch package with a wide variety of items or an à la carte menu. Our server let us know that everyone at the table has to choose the same brunch option, so we all went with à la carte. I ordered the sweet potato waffles, and they were absolutely delicious! One of my friends had the poached eggs with fried green tomatoes, and my other two friends ordered the egg sandwiches with hash browns. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. The service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and checked on us throughout our meal. The décor is beautiful, with dark green tones that create a stylish, inviting atmosphere. The only thing that felt a little unusual was someone coming around taking photos of diners and then offering them for purchase, but we simply declined. By around noon, the restaurant had become much busier, which speaks to its popularity. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely come back for brunch again!

I recently visited South Bar & Kitchen for their Old School Saturday Supper event, and while the…read moreatmosphere had its highlights, the overall dining experience left me wanting more. The restaurant is located in Pompano Beach with both street parking and several nearby parking lots, which made parking fairly easy. That said, the surrounding area felt a little sketchy, and as a woman, I personally wouldn't feel comfortable walking around alone at night. The restaurant itself is cute, casual, and inviting, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The event was held outside, where DJs kept the crowd entertained with a great mix of hip-hop, R&B, and old-school classics. The music was definitely one of the highlights of the night. Because the humidity was unbearable, even after the sun went down, I chose to sit inside for dinner before heading out to enjoy the event. Unfortunately, the service wasn't great. I understand they were likely busier than usual because of the event, but our waiter wasn't very attentive. He told us to flag him down if we needed anything, which isn't exactly what you expect when dining out. Our drinks took about 20 minutes to arrive, and although we were told the bar was backed up, they ended up tasting mostly like juice with very little alcohol. For appetizers, we ordered the crab beignets. They were just okay, but the mustard dipping sauce was actually really delicious and probably my favorite part of the dish. My friend ordered the fried chicken sandwich, and I had the shrimp Caesar salad. The salad came with much more dressing than I prefer, making it a bit overwhelming. My friend thought her sandwich was decent, but unfortunately it didn't sit well with her stomach the following day. After dinner, we headed outside to enjoy the party. The outdoor deck is built around a beautiful tree and offers plenty of seating, along with a separate outdoor bar, which created a fun atmosphere. One thing that stood out, though, was how slippery the deck was. At first I thought it might have been my shoes, but after hearing several other people mention the same thing, it seemed like I wasn't the only one who noticed. Overall, the entertainment and outdoor atmosphere were enjoyable, but I wouldn't return for dinner. The menu is fairly limited, and with fewer options, I expected each dish to really stand out. Unfortunately, the food and service just didn't live up to those expectations. If you're looking for good music and a fun Saturday night vibe, the event is worth checking out, but I wouldn't go for the dining experience alone.

We managed to slide in just in time for happy hour, so the wife kicked things off right with a great cocktail. To keep the kids happy while we looked over the menu, we started with the mozzarella sticks and corn dog poppers. Both were total crowd-pleasers--crispy, melty, and didn't last long on the table. For the mains, the family spread was a massive success. The kids went with the classics: a juicy cheeseburger with golden fries, and crispy chicken tenders with perfectly fried tater tots. Both got total nods of approval. The wife and I went the salad route, ordering the Cobb salad and the Caesar salad, both topped with blackened chicken. Let me tell you, that blackened seasoning is the real deal here! It gave both salads a smoky, savory punch that elevated the whole meal. At the end of the day, Legends serves up **classic bar food done absolutely right**. The vibe is fun, the food is unpretentious and delicious, and the service was on point. So we went at 7pm on a Wednesday. What's playing on TV was not available, was told to use QR code, so easy peasy. So the counter staff was pleasantly, we ordered: rabbit hole salad and the patty melt to go. Maybe should be eaten there, right away. Didn't stand up to a quick ride home. BOTH meals looked sad and not worth $50, as was $20 each, gave $3 tip for to go. Probably won't return! It's probably great for vegans who don't require quality or taste, just gut it out to remain vegan. Salad had no flavor really, it was " overdressed", just kale dressed in an underwhelming sauce. Tons of it where it was soggy. Chips of fake chicken I guess, that was flavorless. Partners patty melt was just so so. I'm sad! You ever wanted to really like something, so you force it. We love going to local spots to support folks but we demand excellence. I wasn't expecting Coopers HAWK, but wanted some flavor. It's like not even as good as Whole Foods, which is pricey like this but good. Patty melt was average, and not worth $20. The onions saved it, but too expensive for us. Fries were limp, not well made. Now I will say, we do go to dives, so we didn't need Sonness (by the way Sonness is beyond fab!). So, we can do " dive vegan" but we cant do expensive average. It survives because often the beach crowds are too tipsy or high to care, or average is OK due to being snowbirds. Im sure these reviews aren't fake, so will chop this up to a bad night for the cooks! Stop by if you are vegan, committed to this lifestyle, then its good enough. We are in good shape medically, have more allegiance to our wallet than a movement. My partner makes great, fresh salads, so I can stay home for below average greens. But if you are committed and need to just get out, try it. I think a vegan frozen meal, Amy's is better. The salad wasn't horrible, just not worth the price. $20 for soggy, no flavor. Nope! I need flavor, price, freshness mix. Also they could do better with the ambiance. When you walk up, it seemed sad. It was empty, but zero personality. They need some music, it was quiet, somewhat moodless! Even dives have a little music. Rabbits have music LOL! Wish them luck! They have been around a while, so maybe they had better days! Why show stuff on TV that's not offered, pretty photos but disappointing for us. Good news, they are surrounded by great things, Italian to the right, Max to the left, pizza to the left. And Foundry at the end of other side! Partner ate half burger, trashed it. I ate 1/4 salad, trash. $50 in the garbage. I gotta laugh as we sat in our couch, we walked in and after 10 min, the energy felt off to me. We read the menu first. I said to my mate, "let's go elsewhere" after staff said, don't have this or that. My mate said, lets see. I went along. Intuition is never wrong! Trust yout gut, give it a try! Maybe tonight was just an off night! Go try it! Maybe it will be better for you! Im sure those reviews are real but maybe that real cook was off, amd we ended up with the no talent crew!

She repeatedly told us she was "making an exception" for our party. Then she lectured us about having to sit at two separate tables with two separate checks. What really crossed the line was when she said, "If I see you passing food between tables, we'll stop serving you." That comment was unnecessary, disrespectful, and completely inappropriate. We were paying customers, not asking for free food or special treatment. There's a time and place to explain restaurant policies, but the way they were communicated made us feel unwelcome before we had even ordered. Hospitality is about making guests feel valued, and unfortunately, that was completely missing here. We chose to leave rather than spend our money somewhere we clearly didn't feel wanted. There are plenty of restaurants that appreciate their customers, and we'll be supporting those instead.

Our waitress was pleasant, attentive, and made us feel right at home, which always enhances the dining experience. Although we weren't extremely hungry, the menu had so many appealing options that we decided to sample a few items. We started with the Caribbean Tea shots, which were unique, refreshing, and surprisingly enjoyable. For drinks, we ordered a Malbec and a Peanut Butter Old Fashioned. Our first entrée was the Churrasco Frites, featuring marinated skirt steak topped with chimichurri and served with twister fries. The steak was cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful, but those fries were the true star of the dish. Still wanting more, we ordered the Garlic Parmesan Twice Cooked Wings. They were nicely prepared and satisfying, though I would have enjoyed a stronger garlic flavor. Not quite finished, we moved on to the Oaxaca Burger, an 8 ounce burger stacked with onion rings, bacon jam, house BBQ sauce, and Oaxaca cheese. This was one of the best burgers I've ever had, and possibly the best. The bun was toasted yet soft, the burger was seasoned perfectly, and it was cooked to a juicy medium temperature. Every bite was packed with flavor. Overall, everything we ordered was excellent, and the service and atmosphere made the experience even better. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning.
