I hadn't been to this location in over five years and I don't know why!?!? (Insert Robin Leach's voice for those old enough to remember him and "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous") I've resided in Ft. Lauderdale for over 25 years and specifically Oakland Park for over 10. After today's experience, I'll be coming here more often! I entered from the east side of the building around 11:30 AM, which takes you into their well-known bar, and the lunch crowd hadn't hit just yet. I was immediately greeted with a smile as I walked in, and decided to take my time and sit at the bar to enjoy a cocktail. The bartender was busy making drinks for those at the bar and the service area but was able to take my drink order promptly. I then decided to sit at a booth in the rustic nautical themed dining room and had the most amazing waitress ever, Jasmine aka Jazzy. She made my day with her smile, her promptness, and multiple touchbacks after being served. Right down to offering me dessert with a menu in hand, along with asking if I wanted a refill on my beverage to go!!! I did have blackened Mahi Mahi with dirty rice and a few squirts of their bbq sauce, which was all so delicious! This Flannigans is very popular and convenient. Plenty of staff available so you never have to wait or go unattended. My favorite go to lunch is the Seafood Gumbo, whether a bowl full or as a featured lunch with a sandwich. It is chock full of Lots of delicious seafood. First off, this place isn't fancy. It's more funky, especially when decorated for the holidays - think Dollar Tree, in a fun way. It's dark inside in an old school sort of way. The sign outside says "Seafood". Really? They do have a few seafood dishes on the menu, but honestly, I've never seen anyone order any! This place has amazing ribs, BBQ chicken, and hands down, the best, solid every day burger you can find anywhere in the area. If you're looking for a fancy, chi-chi burger, they don't have it. The prices are more than reasonable in a time when most restaurants seem to want to charge as much as the traffic will bear. No hidden charges on the bill like 3% charge for using a credit card or other "user fees" to gouge you for more money. Also, it pays to pay attention to their specials. There are real savings to be had. For example, one night this past week we used a coupon to get $10 off, plus we ordered a pitcher of raspberry iced tea (really good BTW), got a free fried onion basket (the daily special with a pitcher of anything), two dinner salads, and one order of a half BBQ chicken plate that we shared. The bill was a little over $25 plus tip. And all of the food was great. Now, as good as the food is, I've never had bad service here. The wait staff are friendly without being obsequious. Some have worked here for many years. That says something about an establishment. They are always busy. It's worth the usually short wait. But beware that parking is an issue. Be patient and be prepared to park on the side street or in a near by parking lot. read more

This place has a long history and the atmosphere seemed like it's frequented a lot by old timers. The music definitely reflected that. Country feel, Christmas decor, diner kind of friendly service all make for a cozy atmosphere. My server was Christophe and he was super nice. I had fish taco that came with a small cup of coleslaw and a medium portion of dirty rice. The fish tacos were big and a total of 3 such taco meant I was full quickly. Definitely no room for dessert. Not traditional Mexican but tacos had sweet chipotle sauce which I thought was a good twist. The fish chunks were big. We were told there was a 30 minute but our party was called fairly quickly (maybe a 10 minute wait time for 2). We tried their 5 ct wings and firecracker shrimp and it was delicious! We've been to the Flanigan's in Pompano Beach often for their lunch specials. We had never been here. We were nearby and decided to grab some lunch first before grocery shopping. The parking lot was packed during lunch time. We drove around a few times looking for an open space. We wound up parking next door in that lot -- even though there were multiple tow away signs. This could be a problem. We decided to sit at the bar -- which is the first thing you see upon entry. The bar is a large long oval. The main seating area is in a separate room to the left. We had decent service from the two bartenders who work in tandem. There were a lot of men dining on their lunch hour. We tried their $6.99 lunch specials. My husband had the hamburger with a baked potato as his side. I got the half roast bbq chicken with fries. He said his burger was good. I liked my chicken. The fries could have been more well done (as originally requested and not done), but still were okay. With the required drink orders (we just had sodas), it's a bargain lunch. It's not fancy or gourmet, but for an inexpensive quick meal, it'll do quite nicely. read more

Just had lunch here at Flanagan's and it was fantastic. They have a special lunch menu several items at $6.99. They also have rewards program where your earn points. and after 750 points you get $10 off your meal. I think that's a pretty good deal nowadays we had Barbara and she was very nice and she explained the whole special lunch point thing for us. And they also had great rock 'n' roll music playing. Went here on a Sunday night without a reservation with a large group. We were surprised to see it so busy and we had to wait but we waited about 20-30 minutes which wasn't too bad before we were seated and they were able to seat us all near each other. We were seated near the service area which didn't smell too great but what can you do. Our waitress was a bit overwhelmed as it took her a while to come to our table, take drink orders, bring the drinks, take the orders, bring the appetizers and then the main courses - we were in the restaurant a total of 2 hours. Everyone enjoyed their food but they did complain that it took forever - we noticed that other servers were flying around the restaurant very quickly whereas our server would disappear for a long time before we saw her again. I also enjoyed my food (I got the mahi mahi dinner with a baked potato and coleslaw) but I've had it better at other locations so I can't say that I will come back to this location in the future. read more

We went here on Sunday between lunch and dinner time, so there was no wait. I right away liked that I saw employees cleaning the tables with disinfectant. Cleanliness is important for eating establishments. Our server was very friendly, and responsive. We didn't have to wait long for her to stop by if we were ready to order of if we needed something. I ordered the grilled salmon with sesame sauce. I got a side of black beans and rice and coleslaw. The salmon was okay, but a little dry. The coleslaw was very tasty and the black beans and rice were pretty good. In the past in Flanigan's, they would bring out their yummy rolls, but the server did not do this. I didn't remember to ask her until I saw another table get them, and by that time, we were done eating. I don't know if they charge for the rolls now, or if you maybe have to request them. I do usually like their rolls though. Usually, I enjoy my meal more at Flanigan's, but I haven't given up on them! read more

Not worth it unless you get the lunch special. Lunch special is some items for 6.99 with a drink which is about 3.50. I got the half bbq chicken and it came with a potato. It was pretty dry but the extra barbecue sauce on the table helped a lot. The owner is very greedy and doesn't allow water bottles inside and waters to-go. read more

I've visited this location in the past and it was usually a great experience...but that was in the past. So where to start.... We had ordered curbside about a month ago but this time we decided to venture out and dine-in . Once we entered, we were pleasantly surprised that everything seemed to adhere to social distancing guidelines. We received paper menus which was nice. ‍ The first red flag (in my opinion) was the table next to us got up and yes it was wiped down but I was surprised at how quickly they sat the next party at that same table instead of using a different table. Our server was nice and accommodating when we requested disposable cups. However, we also requested disposable cutlery for our meal (which I will note in the past has not been an issue at any other establishments)--but in this case we were told NO. Our Server said that mgt does NOT allow disposable cutlery to be given for dine-in patrons. Alternatively, She offered us a hot glass of water to sanitize the silverware but I still didn't feel comfortable with that. You see I've been told by medical professionals that this method does not necessarily sanitize. Since I'm not an expert I opted to be safer than sorry so I tried one last time to speak to Mgt to advise of our concerns. However, to our dissatisfaction mgt also said NO and also gave us the option of a hot glass of water to sanitize our forks and knives (maybe this is in a training manual?). At this point I'm annoyed but I don't want to make a big deal bigger so I asked if I take my food to go and get the disposable cutlery at that point...which he said yes because it's for take out orders only. So that we did. And even though we requested our food to-go when we got home we realized that we still didn't get disposable cutlery! Whatever it's fine! We're home so we can dig in with our own forks and knives. So just beware folks...the cases in South Florida are rising and although the service industry's hurting its important that we all take our safety into our own hands. Perhaps someone else would feel safe enough dining in and using non disposable forks/knives/cups etc. but I didn't and personally I feel mgt efforts to address this matter for us is less than satisfactory. read more

Been wanting to fl try this place for the longest time! Warning: It's a bit dark inside compared to outside. My coworker and I were greeted nicely and we got a booth. We opened the window blinds a bit so we had some light. There's a great lunch special menu ($6.99 with a drink purchase), and daily deals. There's also a big menu. I wasn't sure what to get so I had my coworker helped me out. We ordered tumbleweed onions (very thin crispy onion rings) burger with curly fries from lunch special and 1/2 bbq chicken with baked potato. I also got a lemonade with my meal. They come in green cups and you take the cup home. Prefect for big drinks or smoothies. Tumbleweed onion is very tangly so you will eventually have to break it off with your hands to eat. There's a lot of fries for the burger. Thick and crispy. Burger have the options of a type of cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and onions. Also onion is a big cut of white or yellow onions. You can also choose how you want the burger cooked. The burger is big, thick, and juicy. It can be messy fyi. Our table ran out of ketchup and took awhile to get someone to notice us to change the ketchup. Besides that, everything else was good. I had a good time and I definitely will come back especially for their special deals. I heard they're known for their ribs so I'll try that next time! read more

As Flanigan's Seafood Bar & Grill has to say about itself, we have "23 hyper-locations scattered around South Florida" and they are all open 365 days a year. So, no problem going to Flanigan's to eat. The décor of the place might best be described as being of an interesting sports and local items of interest clutter. That is to say plenty of sports bar type flat screens and memorabilia to look at. However, it has a bright cheery atmosphere to it with everything in order and the place well run. For food I think fellow Yelper Blue A. best described it as being heavy, delicious bar food. The best of which I have found to be their baby back ribs that I had here and previously at several other locations which I've always found to be falling off the bone delicious. Their salads though totally fresh are coarsely chopped with the dressings, particularly the Ceasar, wimpy and lacking in favor. But they also have Chicken wings, CHOWDER and SOUPS, SWEET POTATO FRIES, A TUMBLEWEED ONION, SMOKED FISH DIP, DOLPHIN FINGERS, MIDDLENECK STEAMERS & ETC. Love this place! Great service, delicious food, fair prices. We visit Florida several times a year and this is one of our go to places.

We were looking for an after bday dinner spot and found Flanigans nearby on Yelp. I was a little hesitant because the parking lot was packed but I'm glad we chose this restaurant. We were a decent sized group of 8 but they were able to organize and seat us relatively quickly. We started off with loaded nachos (pretty good sized for sharing). I ordered a Chipotle Chicken Stack sandwich. I wish yelp had a meal sampler option when you click on pictures so others can see just how good it was! Some of my friends ordered the salmon with a baked potato side. I didn't get to try it but it smelled amazing. Our other friends ordered a rack of ribs and that looked great as well. We were all very happy with the food. The service was awesome. We were seated in a small private room and our server took excellent care of us. read more

Wow, yes I understand Flanigan's is a local watering hole. However our server was truly the server of our dreams. She was knowledgeable of the menu, kept our drinks filled and our dinners were delivered promptly and perfectly. Prisca is amazing! Her space buns were out of this world! Worst restaurant experience I've had in a long time. We got there around 4:15. The place was empty and we still had to wait 10 minutes for a table. Looking back we should have just left. After waiting over 30 minutes for 2 burgers we decided to take the food to go. Once I got home and looked at my food, my medium burger was well done and my sweet potato fries were burnt.
