From the engagement shoot to the end of the wedding day, Jenn and Ro were dynamic, professional, and engaging. It did not feel like photographers were even there - making photos candid and relatable. There is nothing more uncomfortable than a photographer telling you every which way how to pose and putting the camera in your face. J&R were the opposite of that. They guided and gave suggestions but also let the photographs show who we really are as a couple. Their pricing was reasonable and fair, and we recieved so many comments on our photographs. Communication and the booking process was super easy and organized on her website. She always responded in a timely manner. She addressed all my questions and concerns. The design team that she works with is amazing and brought my vision for the balloon backdrop to life. She works with her partner/husband Ed who was also super nice and helpful; he came down to help us with our belongings when we got to the studio. The studio was so clean and airy looking; it was the perfect spot for photos with natural lighting. Melissa really showed her expertise and comfort level in taking wonder shots of our son and of us. She was able to direct us on how and where to pose and also adjust things like fixing my hair or adjusting my legs/heels so that they would not look awkward (not all photographers will do this, this comes with experience). We never felt rushed and Melissa was patient with our son. We had some suggestions after we got the edited pictures back and Melissa never made us feel bad about doing the editing over again until we were satisfied. This wonderful experience made us super happy with choosing her as our son's First Birthday Photographer and hopefully other special occasions in the future. Let alone the anxiety you feel from them that you have to hurry up with the photoshoot. Her husband works with her an suffers from extreme OCD so half of your photoshoot session will be cut in half due him cleaning. As far as the turnaround to getting your proofs is also awful and takes such a long time to receive them. This should not be the case if your paying over $400 dollars for less than 25 mins a session. My advice coming from a business background is that you will slowly lose more customers that way because it's not an enjoyable experience when you feel a pressure from the photographer to hurry up when it's suppose to be the opposite a pleasant experience. This is my second time booking with Melissa and I won't book again because of the awful experience. Don't waste your money there is other photographers out there with the same set up, more time and the ability to choose more pictures without feeling robbed.

I try not to hold it against them because I know they can have difficult customers and kids can really be a handful especially when they won't cooperate. I guess I wish they wouldn't tightly book so much and leave some room for error. My photographer was Lorri and she is very energetic and friendly. She makes silly sounds, voices and faces to get the kids laughing and more interested. My toddler was being a bit challenging to wrangle in, so the girl who runs the desk, Kim, came in and helped out. I was so impressed with her- she is pregnant and handling so much at once and never once complained or seemed to be aggravated. She helped with our shoot, rang people up for their purchases and helped people with the selection process. I am not sure how she was doing it all and composing herself so perfectly! They have a great team here and we always leave with pictures that we love. There is no doubt that all of the staff in the portrait studio are working hard! On my wedding day, Steve, the photographer was rude and dismissive toward me and my bridesmaids. It added unnecessary stress to what should have been one of the happiest days of my life. His attitude became such an issue that my soon to be husband had to speak to him about it during the event. After he was paid in full and the wedding was over, communication completely changed. He became extremely unresponsive. I was repeatedly promised specific delivery dates for our photos and video, and those dates came and went without anything being delivered. I constantly had to reach out for updates, which was frustrating and exhausting. We also paid for a videographer, and the final video was incredibly disappointing. So much important footage was missing, and it felt like they tried to cover gaps by editing music over sections instead of including the moments that mattered most to us. Overall, the experience was very unprofessional from start to finish. Your wedding vendors should make your day easier and more joyful -- not more stressful. I would strongly encourage others to think carefully before booking.
