My 4 year started at Flawless Gymnastics a year ago. I knew almost nothing about rhythmic gymnastics before enrolling her but my sister had been praising Coach Sofia and the gym, so we gave it a try. It turned out to be a wonderful fit. Rhythmic gymnastics is physically challenging but also creative and artistic, with a combination of ballet and acrobatics.
My daughter gets so excited when she learns something new that she rushes home to show us and practice her moves. The moment that stayed with me: she was working on a difficult stretch, and Coach Sofia saw how hard she was trying, gave her a hug, and told her to keep going. My daughter came home and told me the gym had been hard that day but hard work is part of getting better and that Coach was encouraging her. She was so proud of herself for working hard. Thats real confidence.
The studio is small, and Coach Sofia has built wonderful camaraderie among the girls. She encourages them to work hard, but just as much to enjoy each other, to be kind and to have good character. The girls and Coach Sofia often spend time together outside the gym: SeaWorld, bonfires, movie nights, Halloween parties, ceramic painting classes, pool parties etc.
Lastly, Coach Sofia is a wonderful role model. She cares so much about each girls personal development, and is a dedicated coach often spending extra time with the girls in order to encourage their growth.
This year, my little hard worker made it to the competitive team, she is excited about performing in a beautiful leotard and for the prospect for winning medals. As for me, as a parent, I feel like we already struck gold-we found a place where our daughter is thriving.
Please note: there are are two gymnastics studios in the same location, this review is for Flawless Gymnastics and Coach Sofia. read more
