I often buy from Vinyl Consumption, which has the absolute displeasure of being inside this…read moreestablishment. The 14-year-old girl who works in the front is hostile and has yelled at customers for seemingly no reason. I hesitated to review it, but she has a new issue every time I come in. If it's not about her parents, it seems to be about her sister or a friend. She is hateful and has a nasty attitude with almost all customers. It looks like she is never working and instead is on the phone or taking a smoke break somewhere else inside the establishment. (Yes, I have seen her e-vape first hand, and I am unsure if she is even of legal age since she appears so young.) I've wondered why they have never fired her, but she seems to be the owner's daughter. Yippee. I have read some of these other reviews, which are spot on, and have determined that if you can, try to go on a day when the 14-year-old girl is not working. I'm not sure why they even have someone so young and emotionally unstable at the front counter. Business would be better if they brought the older girl back (an employee they had before this one). She was always welcoming and offered to help me find my records when I couldn't read the letters. She was such a pretty, welcoming girl, but it seems they traded her for a tiny brat.

Wow. First and last time in this establishment. One of the owners, Jackie, is extremely rude,…read morehostile and condescending. I hope the booth venders realize that she is treating customers in such a poor manner and move their booths somewhere where consumers won't feel uncomfortable to shop ... just read the reviews! The reviews about the owners being extremely rude and nasty are spot on. I have never seen such angry people working with customers directly in my life. They need to hire others to run the location, people that can actually work with the public or just simply get into a line of work where they do not deal with the public!. There are tons of other places in town to find cool antiques, vintage, and collectibles, where you won't be yelled at or treated so rudely, so I would suggest shopping elsewhere.

The person who gave a bad review due to rudeness must have different expectations than most. The people who own the place are not there to entertain you, but there to help only if needed. When I went in I got to wander around without being bugged by the staff. When I did have questions they were more than willing to help. I found newly made Mexico furniture that was just outstanding. I bought two pieces that would have cost hundreds more elsewhere. When I told the owner I was looking for a Southwest table he said "just text me the pictures of what you want & I will send it to my Vendor in Mexico. He can make it to order at a much better price than anywhere else in NM" When I went there to load my heavy pieces the owners family member came out to help me. Totally not required by them, just great people. Some prices were high, but there are many things there consignment so owner has no control over them. This is a must stop.

Thrift stores, much as they can unveil diamonds in the rough, are indeed labor-intensive and exhaustive. Good flea markets refuse to allow worn and torn merchandise to sit on any shelf. The Family Indoor Flea Market offers booth after booth of delightful finds, and yeah, a lot of this stuff might be sitting in your grandparent's cabin in the mountains, but there's plenty of retro goodness tucked alongside at prices that compare or often beat what you'll find at your local Goodwill. I didn't buy anything here, but I spent about a half hour admiring the goods and I can think of four or five items I'm itching to pull my consumer trigger finger on. Albuquerque is awash in flea markets, which makes a ton of sense because, hey, this entire state is about two decades behind the times and so there's plenty of Rubik's Cubes to go around. There's a ton to find, here: furniture (not couches, but tables and chairs galore), decorations, lamps, comics and kids items, you name it. And again, I was often astonished at the cost. Here's a nudge: some of these vendors are seriously desperate for a sale. Cheap, you hear me? And I can dig that. I'm cheap. Sounds good to me.

It's not a typical Goodwill store, so don't expect to find things organized by category. Besides the furniture, everything is in big bins that you rummage through, then pay by the pound (except the electronics -- they're in the bins, but have a separate price list). Things are a little dirty, but I got a few nice things that were easy to clean off. With COVID-19, they require masks to come in. Everyone was wearing one, though I did see a few customers' noses uncovered. And they also only let 25 people in at once, to allow for distance. I was told that there's a line, and you should show up before they open. So I arrived 15 minutes before opening, and got in line. But when they gave out entry tickets (in order of arrival), I was too far back in the line to get one. I had to wait around about an hour past opening time to get in. (The other people in line told me the wait time varies a lot by day. There are a lot of professional resellers who shop here every day for bargains to resell at the flea market or online.) Tip: They put out new stuff in the morning and afternoon. If you want to be first to get a chance to look through the bins, show up an hour early, and wait in line, so you can get one of the first tickets.
