Wanted to get back into running so came here. I've been coming here for over 10 years before all the ownership changes. Walked in and waited a bit for assistance. Once I was assisted, it was very thorough. Used the machines to test for which shoes would be the best fit for me. Narrowed it down to three. Allowed me to test them around the store. Added insoles. Even got a pair of socks. Overall I left confident with my purchases. It's been over 2 months now and I'm loving my sneakers. They were a perfect match especially with my prior injury. read more

Tried to enter the store at 5:30pm on a Sunday, pulled the doors to find they were locked. The signs on the door say they close at 6pm on Sunday. The employee in the store looked right in my eyes and did not open the door. You should really update your times online and on the door if you make a practice of closing early. read more

I called asking if they offered any deals or engravement on marathon runners medals and store offers not a thing I was very disappointed because I live in the area and was hoping not to have to travel into the city again after running yesterday. A cool shop in bronxville that has a big variety of sneakers for ladies , guys and kids , with a extensive assortment of sporty clothing and accessories of all the top name brands . Stopped by with my cuz who was looking to pick up a few sneakers for Christmas gifts and while he is doing his biz, I am roaming around and checking out all the goods that are neatly displayed and organized . To make it simple, I purchased a pair of sneaker casual footware from the new balance brand and a lite wind breaker jacket that was also on sale as well. "June" was a Lovely person.. Extremely helpful. The store does look a bit big for just a shoe running store. But prices were great and also match the prices online to the "T" so that's always a plus. At first I was skeptical to walk into a specality running store in Bronxville, who has that kind of money? I was pleasantly surprised by the comparison in price as it relates to amazon or other online retailers. In plain english: I was not getting ripped off I went it and was greeted immediately buy the guy who works there, Unfortunately I don't remember his name but he was attentive, caring, and honest. I run 2-5 miles 4-5 times a week and also cycle 45 minutes to an hour before every run. So, my shoes get serious mileage. I explained my routine and desire to purchase Asics but was flexible if we found one more suitable to my needs. He fitted my shoes (embarrassed to admit, but happy to have learned that I've been wearing a half size too small!) Then I got into the treadmill for an analysis of my run (I don't remember the technical term) then he measured my arch using thermal technology. After he gathered all of the necessary data, he went over the various components and answered all my questions. Even though the phones were ringing off the hook, he multitasked and we found the perfect shoe. I didn't wanna spend a lot of money, he never once pushed the sale. I spend $100 on new shoes and a pair of socks that I've become obsessed with. 4.5 stars only because I hoped the color selection would have been more vibrant. Otherwise I loved the experience. My 3rd time to come here .. I fell inlove with the previous shoes that I got here the last time.. And I'm a rubber/ sneaker person and that was one of my fave. I thought they moved somewhere and today I found myself there.. The salesperson greeted me with a smile right away.. And offered if I needed any assistance, he was simply polite and I guess doing his job... Satisfaction of customers Was his priority .. Awesome! He helped me with the brooks shoes that i preferred, he explained things the way he can.. He watched how I walk with the shoes and he emphasized the importance of instability with the shoes. Nice chat with him but of course I must get my preference. Good service..Clean store, nice variety of running/ athletic clothing line and shoes. In one of the best neighborhood around. Outstanding to horrendous in 1 week: I went to buy a gift card for my boyfriend. The day I went, two young women were there helping customers. These women were amazing: kind, friendly, warm, knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous. They were giving very specific advice to the customers, saying this brand is better given your liking for such-and-such physical activities. They apologized to me when something glitched and they had to run my card again. Their service and knowledge make it absolutely worth a special trip to this store. Rating: 5. The one thing that annoyed the heck out of me was the fact that nothing in the store has prices posted, so you have to ask about every little thing. Very inconvenient and really pretty snobby: what is this, bespoke? Who doesn't want to know prices right away? Rating: 4. Then, my boyfriend went the next week. I was on my way to meet him with the gift card. The marvelous young women were not there. Instead, we had the manager, who was ASTONISHINGLY unfriendly, grouchy, curt, rude, and unhelpful. To the point that if I had not had the wonderful experience with the women, I would absolutely decide never to return. This guy only pointed out the treadmill (a wonderful amenity for folks testing out running shoes) very grudgingly, did not let my boyfriend keep his chosen shoes at the checkout even though he specifically said I was on my way with the gift card (manager put away the shoes), did not offer to get the shoes again once I arrived with gift card, answered questions gruffly and minimally, and all in all, behaved precisely like the other complaints have described. Rating: zero. As someone else said, we like supporting local businesses, but if we ever see him again we're going elsewhere. If we see the young women, we're totally there. My bf is a committed runner, and his daughter is a marathoner, but we are not going to bother taking her there--not worth it. read more

Extremely negative experience. The store in Rye was permanently so drove all the way down to shop. Salesperson was arrogant, condescending and impatient. I was asking common questions about how to pick the right shoes for me, and he treated me like I was asking dumb questions and should have shut up and just let him talk. We were both wearing masks so I guess he was just being freestyle selling shoes. I eventually became mad and terminated the transaction after we made a deal. This place has a decent selection, with some unique colors and styles you won't find at other running stores. However, the manager makes the whole experience awful. We've gone here numerous times and like the other staff, but usually leave when the manager is on duty. He is rude, makes you feel dumb for asking questions, and makes it seem like everything is a hassle, particular his tone and response when you ask to try on shoes. It's sad because this store has a lot of potential, but as long as he works there I will take my business elsewhere. read more

He just doesn't seem like he enjoys working there, acts like everything is a hassle (makes customers feel like it's a burden to ask for more than 1 shoe or size...). Considering there aren't many running stores in Westchester, I would probably go to Westchester road runners over bronxville simply due to the fact that I didn't feel welcomed or wanted due to the manager. As a new runner I was getting pains on my feet. Someone suggested I go to the Bronxville Running Co. I will say I was a little intimated to go. As soon as I went in everyone was really nice. I explained to them my situations and they right away asked what kind of sneakers I was running with. Sure enough I was using the wrong sneakers & he explained why. The store associate made me run and walk to see what was the problem, after a few tests he suggested about 3 different types of running sneakers. They were all within reasonable pricing. What I loved the most was that they weren't pushy about selling anything, and they offered great running tips! read more

You will want to call before going. It's a teeny tiny store with appparantely very low stock. I was told that they did not have anything in a size 6 1/2 or 7 Hoka of any style. I wasn't offered any other brand options or even informed when anything in that size would available. This was in November before holiday season. They had plenty of socks. read more

Hostile to cyclists, hostile in general. I live in town and have been to this store many times. I've had decent experiences. Never outstanding, but fine. Today on my way home from a long bike ride, I called from the road and asked if they had any electrolyte tablets in stock. The guy said yes and I told him I'd see him soon. When I rode up to the store, there was no place to put my bike outside because there were outdoor dining tables from adjacent restaurants in front of the entire Running Store. I walked my bike to the doorstep of the store, both doors were wide open and before I could lean my bike against the doorway to take off my helmet and get my mask, the guy behind the counter rushed from behind the counter waving at me saying I needed a mask. I said, I know I have one. I asked him if I could just leave my bike here against the doorway or just inside. He waved me off again and said, No you can't leave your bike here. What? I've been to that store before and they've let me bring my bike in and lean it against the wall while I shop. If they've changed their policy, I think it's a questionable decision, but that's their call. What really irked me was the hostile way this person approached me and essentially chased me away as if the last thing he wanted was my business. Well, mission accomplished. Based on other recent reviews, I'd say my experience was not unique. My advice, save yourself the trouble and time and skip this store. Until this place gets its act together, I'll go with Amazon. I had a really good experience buying some new running shoes. I told the salesperson about my workout and what kind of shoe I was looking for. He measured my feet and watched how I walked. I was also able to run in all the shoes I tried using the treadmill. I compared the price of my shoes to amazon and they were exactly the same; so no crazy mark-ups because its an actual store. The salesperson was very knowledgeable about running styles, different types of shoes (minimalist), and how different types of shoes should be worn for different distances. He also explained pronation in a way that made sense. Its definitely worth the time to talk to an expert. This location also has weekly running events and is planning a couch to 5K soon. read more

Honestly, the main man that works there is pompous and rude. Literally just went in there and asked how he felt about a certain shoe and his response was so rude. You work at a RUNNING store, people have questions about RUNNING shoes, don't act inconvenienced by people asking questions. No, I'm not a marathon runner, but I am an ATHLETE and take what I wear to run seriously. Rude. I came to the store without knowing diddly about how to select the proper shoe for running. I wanted advice on what pair would be best for my stride, so they had me run on their treadmill while a slow-motion camera recorded my feet. Then they showed me the video and explained exactly what types of shoes would improve the way my feet fall and gave me a selection of pairs that would help. I had lots of questions and took my sweet time trying out the shoes, but the salesperson kept smiling and patiently answered all my questions. Good service, fair prices, and lots of help for nincompoops like me! When I finally decided to buy a pair, I found them for $20 cheaper on Zappos, but the salesclerk happily dropped the store's regular price to match the sales price on Zappos. Score! read more

Super friendly staff, there very knowledgeable on all things running. They have an in store treadmill, and record your feet as you run then review your stride with you. The goal was to get me into the right kind of running sneaker and the staff was very helpful. They also have a large variety of running clothing, sneakers, and running accessories. My doctor recommended a running shoe to wear on my long walks. I also have a bad lower back (moderate/severe stenosis) and needed a shoe with some cushioning. I had always worn either Saucony or Asics, I expected to get one of those brands. The salesperson who helped me, Luci, was fantastic. She spend time with me, put me through some tests (to see how my foot lands and where the main pressure points were located). She then brought out 3. One from Saucony, one from Asics and one from Brooks (Luci's choice). Lo and behold I LOVED the Brooks! It was the perfect shoe for me and all my thanks to Luci! Salespeople were extremely pushy, didn't even acknowledge me for the first 10 minutes and then were rude to me when I only bought one item instead of 2. Rude meaning - I was in line and they took the person behind me and basically ignored me and then the salesperson wanted to hold my one item for me and bribe me to come back and buy the second one later in the day.....no sorry I am the customer I can make my own decision. Wow! Talk about service with a smile! I had an awesome experience at this store. I recently broke my leg and tore some ligaments in my ankle and I was having a hard time finding a pair of running shoes that worked well for me. An employee by the name of Phillip helped me find exactly what I was looking for. They have a treadmill in the front corner of the store with a camera behind it. The camera records your feet and ankles while you run so that they can recommend a shoe that will offer you the right type of support. Also from favoring my good leg for months, one my feet got bigger. Phil let me exchange several different pairs of shoes until I found a pair that was comfortable on both feet. I love this store!!! I have been shopping here for almost two years and recently I bought a pair of shoes that caused pain in my feet and legs. Thinking it was because it was a new pair I tried to break them in and the pain continued to get worse, I took them in wanting to get a new pair and was given a replacement pair at no cost.
