A gentleman showed up and they discussed Dave's preferences. Then he disappeared to return with 4 boxes of shoes for Dave to try on. The shoes felt tight so the salesperson went back and brought 3 more pairs of shoes for Dave to try. Dave found a shoe that he liked and off to pay we went. Great experience. Scanning of the feet in 3D to selection of the right shoes are done right. I wanted cushion-y walking shoes. The sales clerk, Tristan, was patient; we went through 7 different types of shoes, 4 different soles and 2 different sizes. Took about 45 minutes to end up with a pair of Hokas. These aren't fashionable...but function over form for these shoes. You do pay retail (no discounted or sale price), but I wanted a good fit (am I spoiled?). All is good!! We wait for 20minutes to get shoes what my wife already chose and no one even ask us to assist or to call someone to help while walk around assisting someone else. I buy my training/running shoes from this amazing store. When I bought my second pair, I might have arrived at a busy time because I left with only shoes. I say only because when I came back asking for help resolving a knee issue and thought I needed a knee sleeve, a very knowledgable gentleman advised with first addressing the issue by using an insert to better align my movement. Then if after that, I still have problems, then work up the leg to identify the cause or the source of the problem. Well, the insert helped tremendously. Knee issue went away. Turned out this insert aligned my movement and also provided support especially during my very high impact workouts. I am very pleased with not only my shoes, but especially with this insert and the knowledge provided. Thank you very much. The quality of my mobility is very important to me. So thank you! read more

I remember when I first told my dad about running shoe stores where they actually fitted you based on your gait. Since he'd been plagued with foot problems all his life, he was excited about having someone work with him rather than just trying to sell him whatever looks good. He liked it so much that he signed up for the couch to 5K training plan at age 68. And it worked. He ran the Cotton Row 5K and even got a medal. Consequently he loves this place. So we stopped by after running the Cotton Row this year to see what our numbers would get us in terms of a discount. The selection of shoes wasn't what I was used to at the stores in Atlanta (not all versions of our favorite brand - Brooks). They've got the treadmill, but for the most part, they just have your run around the store and watch and then ask you what you think, particularly if you're not doing this for the first time. They didn't have my husband's actual shoes (Brooks Defyance), so the guy recommended that he try the Brooks Ghost. Honestly not the most attentive shoe-fitting, but then again, once you know what kind of shoe works for you, these stores are more about community than they are about shoes. And there seems to be a vibrant community - with the couch to 5K programs and the sponsorships of the local races, two of which I've done. This is one of the best running shoes stores... not sure if that is the correct category? What is correct is the approach the store and staff take in taking care of customers. Take note... this is not a place you'll walk in and come out in 10 minutes with a pair of shoes. Allow plenty of time for personal high quality care by a trained staff who have the tools, knowledge and inventory to fit your feet with the best shoes for running or whatever sport they play. 10 months ago before moving to Phoenix, AZ I shopped my local Huntsville Fleet Feet store. We made a rather large purchase, and I asked about the transfer of points to my new pending city. I was told the points do not transfer. Not a problem because I intended to visit home and would gladly stay loyal to my preferred store for the great service. Needless to say, I am very disappointed with the Huntsville Fleet Feet. My autistic 13 year old son has been begging to go to Fleet Feet since we arrived in Madison on 7/19/2019. We have been talking about saving money and the incentives stores offer to their loyal customers. Unfortunately, his father had a medical emergency, and my son patiently waited almost a week to visit Fleet Feet. In support of our son, his father decided his first trip out of the house since surgery would be to Fleet Feet. This afternoon I called ahead to make sure that the items we needed were in stock because the drive from Madison to Jones Valley takes some time. The salesperson was very nice and helpful - this is NOT a complaint about their performance. At the register I learned that they had migrated to an app for loyalty points, and that I did not have any points on my account. Did someone else use my points? Did the previous salesperson assume I would not use them because I was moving? The store manager (?) told me differing information of 6 and 3 months to the expiration of points. Previously I have banked points at this store without an expiration date. Needless to say, this particular manager, or seemingly the store authority figure, preferred not to make a sale. Customer satisfaction doesn't mean you have to offer a discount, I understand that policies change, it's the way you present kind customer service without being condescending. We would have gladly paid full price for a good customer experience. Me and my Fiance came to fleet feet from Decatur, she teaches aerobics and has all those fancy certifications , Her and a member of the staff started with a conversation about what she did and her current shoes , after he took a look at her current shoes he mention that he did not think he could put her in a better shoe , but did recommended a arch support , which for the time being has help her acking feet, so not a pressure sales place . Then it was my turn , he look at my shoes , i am a occasional runner , about 8-10 miles a week , he determined mine were wore out , he brought out a pair from the same maker i had , i ran in the their tread mill , he observe and assest my running , he did not see any complications when we look at the video of me running , then we tried 2 more pairs of shoes , Never stated ," i don't think You can beat these shoes " because He will , i am very pleased with the service we receive and the Knowledge of the person who help us . I would mention that the "other "store in Hville that runs their ads on the radio, i did purchase a pair of running shoes there last year , the level of knowledge from Fleet Feet and the one there cannot be compared, i left that store with a Bozo size shoe, and he wanted me to wear a even bigger one , and they do not have a tread mill or video to see how you run . Fleet Feet is located in Jones Valley and specializes in shoes and sportswear. The service and selection at Fleet Feet are top notch with one sales associate spending over an hour with me to find the perfect shoe. It all starts out with a few basic questions such as what I'm looking for and problems that I'm having with my current shoes. Next, the sales associate explains the different types of shoes there are, and then the associate will choose a neutral shoe. Once this neutral shoe is chosen, the associate will either video your walk on a treadmill or go outside with you to view your walk. Once this is done, the sales associate can then choose the correct shoe based on how your foot rolls on the ground. Once this is done, the sales associate then brings out a multitude of shoes and then based on your criteria helps you select the best shoe for your foot. Now, even the best shoe for your foot can be made better. If this is the case, Fleet Feet has a large selection of insoles and the sales associate takes the time to explain the differences between each brand that they have. Your business is made or broken by the folks who represent you. Fleet Feet, y'all need to up your game. I went in today to buy running shoes. I had my eye on a pair of Asics. Fleet Feet is MUCH more expensive than other stores (like Dicks or Shoe Carnival, which flank it) but they do carry a good variety of sizes. While i was shopping, i made small talk with another customer, a lady my age with similar shoe needs. We were comparing notes. The sales person, a fellow named Chris, approached. He knew the other customer and they spoke. She continually tried to put his attention on me.. but he was more interested in razzing her. Eventually, he did get me some shoes to try on. I was trying to explain to him why they werent a good fit when the lady he knew (who was still chit chatting with me) tried to help me explain as SHE got what he couldnt seem to grasp. His response was to YELL at her. In front of me. She walked away, like the lady she clearly was. I followed her to say i was sorry he treated her that way, and i appreciated her knowledge. She said he was "a friend". If thats how he treats friends... enough said. I walked out. I wont be back. The prices are 25% higher than their competitors. If they dont deliver service to offset that, there is no benefit. My advice? Walk over to Dicks. Use the money you save for lunch at Mezza Luna. And dont tick off Chris. read more

Fleet Feet Huntsville is the reason I learned to love to run. I first became acquainted with the store when I signed up for their No Boundaries 5k training program. I had never run before other than gym class back in middle school, but even then I would feign ill to get out of it. I had tried doing a couch to 5k program on my own using an app and a treadmill, but I would give up when it got too hard. I didn't know a soul in the room when I showed up for the first orientation night at the store, but they gave me a 10 week running plan, which included meeting with a coach and mentors at the store twice a week (yay for encouragement and support!) as well as one day where I needed to run on my own. One day each week, we would have a special discussion topic related to making running a good experience, for example, proper running form, nutrition, hydration, running shoe fit. I gained a wealth of information that prepared me to get out there and have good successful run, information that I was completely lacking when I tried to start running on my own. Also, each week we had the encouragement and guidance of a coach and several mentors to help us make it through each run. With their support, and the help of friends I made along the way, I was able to run my very first ever 5k at the age of 30 and I've been running ever since! I thought the No Boundaries program was so wonderful that less than a year later I signed up for the store's half marathon training program, and I was equally successful. I enjoyed the training programs so much that I decided to become a mentor for this year's Cotton Row and Running of the Bulls 5ks. It was so incredibly satisfying to be able to help the new runners gain confidence in themselves and successfully complete their goal races. Besides the training programs, this is of course a store. They have everything you need whether you are just starting out or you're a pro. Everyone I ever worked with at the store was very knowledgeable and friendly. The shoe fitting process is very thorough and I have had great success with the shoes that I've bought here. However, if you're not happy with your shoe purchase you can bring them back! They just want to make sure you get what you need. They have shoes, clothes, socks, watches, nutrition, seasonal gear, tri gear. If it's running related, they've got you covered. I can't say enough good things about this place. They are not just a store, but the center of a thriving running community. Fleet Feet is a full service sportswear store with one of the best athletic shoe selections around. The guys and gals that work here are top notch. They spent about 30 minutes measuring my foot and analyzing my run frame by frame with their digital recording system. They picked out several shoes that were designed to accommodate my feet and my running style. My new shoes feel and fit great. I really enjoyed shopping here. Went in to be fitted for shoes and purchase some new ones after my old pair was just not cutting it anymore. Lonnie was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He was very knowledgeable and helpful and made sure I understood what was or wasn't different between each shoe. He never pressured me to purchase anything extra or go for the more expensive shoes. Not for older runners. I decided to buy a new pair of running shoes at Fleet Feet Huntsville since it had several favorable reviews and its website stresses its fitting process. Although the store was not busy when I went there, the "fitting process" consisted entirely of asking me what size I wear now and offering to let me try some shoes in that size. There was not a single question about my gait or how much I run. In fact, they did not even measure my foot and only glanced at the measuring device when I decided to measure my own foot. When I tried on the first pair, the sales person checked only the position of the big toe in the end of the shoe and announced it a "pretty good fit". In fact, the shoe was MUCH too wide in the heel and the sales person agreed it was when I made her check the heel. I am of an age where I no longer have to ask for senior discounts although I continue to run. My impression is the helpfulness of the twenty something sales people is inversely related to the age of the customer. I assume the sales person assumed someone old enough to be her grandfather couldn't be a "real" runner so it was not worth her time to help select and fit a running shoe. In fairness, the store does seem to do a good job helping younger runners and is willing to spend the time to ensure a proper fit. Bottom line is I do not recommend this store for older runners. I purchased two new pairs of shoes on the internet at a price lower than Fleet Feet offered. While I would have gladly paid the slightly higher price at Fleet Feet if their service included something more than simply offering to let me try on a shoe in the same size as I currently wear, I found a shoe selector on the internet provided FAR more useful advice. read more

Thank you Julia!! I saw you one day ago with pain in my feet that kept me from enjoying walking, lifting weights, just generally moving; doctors suggested surgery ... I went with a less scary option. Made the appointment then Julia properly fitted shoes and socks for me. What a wonderful experience! But that is not the best!!! I have booked six miles since (in about 48 hours)!!!! When I was told about his store I went that day. Was very pleased with the saleslady who helped me. She was very friendly. She checked my feet then put a pair of shoes on me and had me get on the treadmill. She went and got other shoes in my size and let me try them all on. i have a large foot and all my shoes were hurting my feet.
