First, let me start by saying that I was incredibly intimidated walking into this store, but the entire staff was extremely friendly and super accommodating. This wonderful store is located in the large shopping center on Carlisle Pike, and is situated across from the Target and Wegmans. I decided to turn to professionals after striking out on finding comfortable sneakers for spinning and walking. When I walked into the store I was immediately greeted by Fred who ended up helping me select appropriate shoes for my individual feet. The appointment started with a scan of both of my feet. They used a specialized machine to determine the size, width, and arch of my feet. Fred explained that he also observed me walking without shoes to see how my feet landed. He then selected about 4 pairs of shoes for me to start with. Fred was extremely patient as I tried each shoe. It was apparent that he is very knowledgeable and was striving to ensure that I was comfortable and pleased with my options. I ended up going with the On Cloudflyer 4 in the black/white color way. I also purchased the Swiftwick Flite XT socks in the gray/white color way. This is easily the best experience I have ever had with sneaker shopping. This is exactly what you will receive at Fleet Feet in Mechanicsburg from their very personable and professional staff. The employees are actually runners themselves and are very knowledgeable. The staff at FF take the necessary time working with each individual customer, trying on multiple styles and brands of shoes to ensure the customer is leaving with best possible shoe to meet their needs. This is important since my favorite brands seem to make changes from year to year that impacts the "feel/fit" and have me looking for alternatives in other brands. The last several times we have purchased shoes at FF, Greg waited on us and did a fabulous job! It's very reassuring when someone (me) who doesn't necessarily "look" like a runner, is given the same quality of service as those who resemble the stereotypical runner. Recently added to FF is the new computerized scan of the feet prior to fitting. This was amazing and the data/images are reviewed to help assist in shoe selection. FF carries a nice variety of proven running shoes at a reasonable price. Yes, you may find similar brands online or at large sporting goods stores a little cheaper, but you will not receive the specialized treatment and fitting which is essential for runners. So, save $10+ dollars somewhere else and get "ok" shoes or pay the money and leave knowing you have purchased the most appropriate shoe for you personally. In addition to the shoes, FF carries socks, clothing, nutrition and hydration items. While FF is a nationally known brand, the Mechanicsburg store is owned and operated locally and maintains an active role in supporting the local running community. Being new to running, I wanted to get a solid pair of running shoes as I have my first race coming up soon. I got way more than that at Fleet Feet! I had the opportunity to work with Shelby, and the experience could not have been better! She started out by figuring out my shoe size, and then watched me walk to see if there were any issues in my stride. I especially appreciated the fact that she told me why we were doing each of these things. Once all of the basics were ironed out, she brought out a couple pairs of shoes. She laced them up for me, and we went outside so I could jog a short distance in them. The whole experience was very informational and downright fun. Yesterday was my first time visiting a Fleet Feet location. I was lucky enough to be assisted by Shelby during my visit. She was extremely helpful, thorough and knowledgeable. She started by watching me walk barefoot, then sized my feet using a mechanism you stand on (don't know what it's called!). Based on those findings, she had me try on 3 pairs of shoes. I ended up really liking a pair she suggested and I bought them. Shelby allowed me to try the shoes on outside, too. I tried them out last night on a run and they felt great! I'm definitely going to be returning to this store with any further running needs in the future. read more

They scan your feet and take all the time that is needed to ensure that you have the shoes that fit your feet properly. For the area this place is hands down the best running specialty shop. I was greeted by 3 people upon entering who were all actual runners that were knowledgeable about both road and trail running gear. I traveled from AZ to PA for two weeks and left my hydration pack at home. After going to Appalachian Running Company (had one model of a mens hydration pack. Nothing for women) and Inside Track (the staff did not know what a hydration pack was for running...) finally I found Fleet Feet Sports right now the street. They had a wide selection of trail running must haves (hydration packs, Buff's, compression gear) knowledgeable staff and actual trail runners with knowledge. Went to Fleet Feet Sports today to get fitted for running shoes and got the opportunity to work with Becca! She is AMAZING!!!! Her bright personality is so refreshing and her knowledge on running mechanics and apparel/gear is unreal! Every question I had, she answered! First thing we did was measure my feet and then she watched my arch and pronation as I walked barefoot in the store. Then she described what my arches do when I walk and that I have a slight inward pronation. Becca came out with the perfect shoes for my foot type. She was spot on with the Brooks Ravenna! I LOVE them!! Next, she measured me for calf compression sleeves which I purchased and also running shorts. She talked to me about their running club which was just what I was looking for! Becca's incredible personality and knowledge really make Fleet Feet a one of a kind, incredible store. If you are looking for anything running and need the gear, Fleet Feet is the place to go!! Awesome shop! I'm newer to running and stopped in to get fit and shoe suggestions and they really take one-on-one time to find the right equipment for you. I went to FF this afternoon for a new pair of running shoes. I was greeted by Fred who, thankfully, didn't pounce on me like a used car salesman. After looking at the selection of sneakers (NB, Adidas, Saucony, and others) I handed Fred my well-worn Newtons for an analysis. He reviewed the treadwear and diagnosed my over pronation problem. He then had me walk back and forth a few times and confirmed the issue. After 45 minutes of discussing my running style and needs, carefully measuring each foot (and cleaning the foot measure with alcohol pads beforehand) and trying on 3 pairs of shoes and a couple of inserts (which I didn't purchase), I was out the door with a nice new pair of Adidas Supernova Sequence 7s. When I got home I compared what I paid at the store to online prices and, although I found one online retailer that was about $10 cheaper (but not in my size or color), the prices were the same. Fred's knowledge and patience with my list of questions, coupled with the no-pressure-to-buy approach, have won me over. Fred also explained that if I should have any problems with the shoes, or discover any pain or fitting issues, that I can return the sneakers--used--and he'll work with me on finding another shoe type/style. We decided to join one of their running programs and the coaches could not be nicer and more knowledgable.
