We drove to the trail #7 as recommended by the gate for the best sunset views! It was truly beautiful to see the sunset on the bay. Walked over to the beach- vehicles allowed on the beach, saw bonfires and lots of people fishing! Plan to buy season passes and enjoy this State Park more often!!

We have done the half day and full day rentals. I prefer the morning half day rental cause by noon, after a full morning crabbing, we are knackered. It's located in a great spot so you don't have far to go into the bay or down the lagoon. Best crabbing is in the lagoon imo. So take a day and rent a pontoon. Even if you don't crab, they have a pontoon a little bit more comfy for just traveling around the bay relaxing. Enjoy!
